The second Amelia lost touch with the railing and was free falling she started second guessing the wisdom of drunkenly leaping into someone's arms who was also drunk. She had jumped off buildings before, but there was a major difference between being sober and Sailor Eskimo, and being drunk and regular ol' Amelia. Fortunately she didn't have long to worry before she slammed into Bo. She could feel her knee hitting something solid and she grimaced- that couldn't be good.
Wanting to keep the damage to a minimum she did her best to twist so that she didn't knock into him too badly. It seemed to work- when they hit the sand it didn't hurt all that badly, she was even laughing. She was pretty much lying on top of him, and a small voice in the back of her head was telling her the polite thing to do would be to get off him, but she ignored it. He was incredibly comfortable, and there was something nice about being so close to him. She had the intense urge to cuddle into him, but before she could act on it he was pushing her hair back. Oh, she had almost forgotten about the kiss in the adrenaline rush of her jump, but of course he hadn't.
Looking into his eyes her own lips turned upwards and she reached up running her fingertips along his cheek. Draped across him like she was and with the waves blanketing all the other ambient sounds it was easy to pretend they were the only two on the beach and that there wasn't a restaurant full of people not too far away. A shiver ran over her skin as his hand cradled her head, the anticipation becoming nearly unbearable. She had definitely come a long way from rejecting that first kiss.
The irony of the eskimo kiss wasn't lost on her, and if she hadn't been so wrapped up in the moment she would have laughed. As it was she only had a moment to grin before his lips covered hers. The moment their lips touched all the anticipation that had been growing inside her blossomed into pure bliss. It was one of her best first kisses, certainly the best first kiss she could remember off the top of her head and she wasn't sure if it was because she was drunk, or because Bo was kissing her (she had a strong feeling it was the latter), but she didn't really want to dwell on the why. Instead she returned the kiss, her hand slipping down to rest against his chest, just above his heart.
