Squinting down the length of the green, Simonides hefted the discus uncertainly. Ranged weapons weren't really her forte. Ok, she hadn't exactly ever tried to use one. But she was pretty sure that if she had, the results would be unspectacular, to say the least. So she didn't do ranged weapons. Unfortunately, it didn't seem that she could get away with running the length of the field and dropping her discus at the end. That kind of thing would probably lead to disqualification. And really, what was the point in coming all the way out here if she didn't at least show a little willing and effort? Simonides reflected that, on consideration, it would have given her far more time to sit back and watch the other knights.
But it was her turn, and too late to back out. Resignedly, she swung her arm in towards herself then let the plate fly with a slight wobble, teetering to one side to regain her balance. Of course, it didn't even pass the half way marker. Not that she was expecting it to. Still, she could learn from that. The second throw was a little less awkward, and got a little farther. Hm. She had observed the other throwers before her, taking note of posture, but theory and experience were two different things. Don't lean that way, lean this way. Move your hand faster at this point than at that point. Take a step forward to increase momentum when your hand passes your shoulder at this moment. The third discus went over twice the length of her original throw, but it was too little too late. As she stepped back and waited for the distances to be measured, she berated herself for not having practised beforehand. Perhaps if she had ... but it was too late. And her throws hadn't been abysmal. Reasoning with herself, yet still feeling mildly discontented with her performance, Simonides left the field.

This game wasn't exactly made for Aria, page of Cosmos, in mind. She had wanted to give it a shot, as she was going to go through all the games. In her pretty little head she thought that she would win them all. All of them. Through some magic of imagination and idealism, the little page would win so many medals that her princess would just HAVE to take notice of her.
It was a fight for validation.
Sadly, today's javelin and discus toss would not validate her today.
True, she did have impeccable aim. True, she did throw it a little more on target and farther than some of her competition. But strength she did not have. It fell short.
Her only consolation was that Bimini appeared to be winning so far. Bimini, her gorgeous brother from another mother, a fellow knight of Cosmos. The thought of him winning the gold swelled her up with pride.

Finally, something she enjoy to do, throw stuff. She should be good at this as long as they weren't too heavy. Her lend figure didn't help her at all in the competition but she wouldn't give up because it was something that she was use to and surely she could have a small advantage, right?
She carefully watch as the other knight took there turn and nervously walked closer to the area. She love watching as all of the beautiful outfit looked wonderful in such swift movement. She watch once again and sigh. She was next. She paused for a second took a big breath of air in and let it out slowly. Comon' Keelut, you got this. Don't worry. Your family would be proud either way. She let out some more air and smiled. Sure, it didn't matter but she just wanted to do a good job.
She looked at both of the items trying to figure what she wanted to throw first. She saw that the discuss was heavier then the javelin so she decide to throw the javelin for she wouldn't hurt herself and do badly on the next one. She softly picked it up and juggle it around a few time in her hand and let out some more air. It wasn't too heavy. She had this all she had to do now was throw it. She smiled and threw it as hard as she could and to her surprise it went a lot further then she believed.
She jumped a little with a bright smile on her face. Perfect! That had to be a bit further then some people, right? Well it didn't matter because it was a great throw! She grab the discuss and let out a "off" this one was a lot heavier then she image. She sighed and frown, she wasn't sure if this was going to go as far as the javelin but she had to give it a try. She threw it and watch it flop down and smile. Ok, that wasn't bad. it wasn't as far as the jaliven but she couldn't complain. She smiled and left the area, hoping that her best was good enough to place.

Esquiline was standing in line, waiting for her turn at the javelin and discus throw. She thought the competition would be fun when she got the letter and so agreed to join in. But now, standing in line, she didn't feel very confidant.
But hey, she could only do what she could do. If she did well, then she brought glory to Venus of something. But if she failed, well, there was always the next game. As long as she didn't stab somebody with the javelin or knock someone out with the discus, she would be ok.
When in came time for her to go, she was shaking a bit with nerves. There were people watching: both contenders and bystanders. Not everyone competed in every game. Colors and power signatures mixed together and formed a proverbial rainbow in her mind. But she tried to ignore them as she was handed the javelin. She hefted it a couple of times, testing the weight. then she took a few steps back, preparing herself. She ran forward and threw the pole as hard as she could.
The pink haired knight was surprised with how far it flew. It sailed through the air and landed quite a distance away. Her jaw fell open, and then she grinned. So she wasn't terrible at this! There was a substantial bounce in her step when she moved out of the way for the next person in line. Maybe she wouldn't do so bad after all!
Next up was the discus throw. The discus itself looked heavy and awkward, and she thought back to her training. Tuck it under your arm, spin around and throw.
She watched a Knight in pretty colors throw the discus. Then it was her turn. She picked up the thing that really did look like a frisbee. She spun around a couple times and threw it with all her might. It flew a respectable distance, and she clapped her hands together. But her hands quickly feel to their sides when she had realized what she had done. She nodded to her fellow competitors politely, and kept her excitement in check while she moved to the group of folks that were already done. It wasn't polite to rub success in other people's faces. While she chatted with other knights who had already gone, Esquiline glanced at the scores. It seemed she had ranked high so far, and her heart bubbled over with happiness. She could possibly win one! A sporting event!

The boy waited anxiously for his turn, alternating between bouncing on the heels of his bare feet, and playing with his bangle nervously. He wanted to do good, but he knew that it was harder than it looked. He had tried it out before the olympics, just to see if he could even do it, and while he probably should have sat out of this event, the boy couldn't help but try. He could get lucky.
When it was turn, he stepped up, and each turn his throw was wobbly. They flew decently, but decently wasn't enough. Oh well.
This just wasn't his event.
