He frowned at her next question, though, thoughtfully.
"Yeah, it did. I mean. I guess if that's what happened? It was all kind of a blur, but there was a lot of mirror shards and it did hurt a lot. But it went away, and I was fine after it. It hurt a lot more, and a lot longer, when that White Moon senshi beat me up!"
He smiled, because clearly he had just said something reassuring.

Pasiphae did not share her thoughts or interupt, giving her rapt attention. Just because she did not speak, however, did not mean she was not reacting. Sorrow and guilt colored her expression. Another failure. If only... but the Senshi had saved as many as they could. That's why they were there in the first place. His description of his awakening made her wince. It was such a sharp contrast to her own in more ways than one. She had been gently guided through the process by *********, a snuggly kitty looking out for her and leading to the warmth that even now flowed through her whenever she transformed. What Virtus described... was far more like her nightmares. The idea that Harper's fists could be more painful was baffling, but it led to her apologizing, "I'm sorry... I don't mean to remind you of painful things. I'm just trying to understand."

He smiled.
Things could be simple, if one bullheadedly ignored everything that could possibly bring the day down. Simple!
He shifted a bit, watching her and knowing he was not helping her mood improve. She looked sad and he had no idea how to do anything to make it better. Was he the only reason she was feeling so down? So then maybe he should leave, and she would be happier... maybe that was the answer!
"I think maybe I should go soon. I don't want to upset you more..."

"You're not the one upsetting me," Pasiphae reassured the Dark Moon Senshi. It was the truth. He wasn't the one upsetting her. Her own failure upset her. Ares upset her, not only for betraying their cause but for dragging innocents like Virtus down with her. Maybe it would be best if they went their seperate ways. Knowing that there was no way for her to help Virtus made listening to his descriptions harder than usual. She might be letting a tactical advantage get away in not asking more. If only Kallichore or Ganymede were there... they would have been able to get either more information or keep the conversation going. Unfortunately for Order, she was the only one here.
"Virtus, would you mind... answering more questions, if I have them in the future?" The odds of her having a golden opportunity like this one again seemed unlikely, but she figured it could not hurt to ask. "I mean, if I see you, of course."

He wanted to help her, and if he was getting through, maybe helping her to see the good in them, then he was helping the Court as well. They needed fewer enemies: why not make friends with people that did not want to hurt him?
He loved the idea of being able to spearhead a peace campaign. Not for the glory of ending the war, but for the simple hope of helping people. One by one, he was going to make the white moon senshi his friends.
Then no one would have to hurt each other. He did not want to hurt any more of them, and if this was the way to avoid it, then he would take it.
Because that was all he could really do. Just try, just be himself. Just be nice.
