Marcus' question got a shrug from Candace who was chugging her coffee as fast as she could without burning herself to death. "Nah, never. If it wasn't mandatory and offering a nice chunk of change I'd be pretending I conveniently didn't get the text." She finally replied to Marcus, looking and feeling slightly more awake now. Only slightly. She turned back to the boy she had greeted before when he spoke to her, returning his smile. "Don't think I've seen you around before.." She leaned back on one leg a moment to get a look at the back of his coat, making a soft noise of interest. Life, huh? Cute. Candace held a hand out to shake. "Candace, Mist Hunter. And you?"

There were quite a few people present Rep recognised, and anyone who looked his way got their respective greeting for the day Candace, Ceres, Wilson and Jerry got a nod of greeting. Otto got a fairly sympathetic glance. Roland and Melvin were consigned to stern looks. Marcus and Sasha got venomous glares.
However, seen as he was still trying not to stir up trouble, he didn't move to lean off the wall he'd found to slump against to actually harass anyone just yet, just listened in on various conversations that were loud enough to overhear, and which generally were none of his business. Not that that had ever stopped him.
"Money's money." he grunted to the world at large.

"More'r less." Otto replied to Wilson, shrugging lightly.
Being around a lot of people was making him feel a bit anxious, so he instead pretended it was just Wilson. Everything was making him anxious, skittish. He only hoped he could maintain his sanity. He'd done an okay job up to that point. Drugs had helped. There were no drugs now though. Only him and his frantic thoughts.

Ryan arrived at the Life labs, but had yet to decide if he was actually going to partake in these tests. He needed the money, yes. Everyone seemed to need it. However, $500 upfront for some testing seemed oddly suspicious to him. Honestly, why pay them for testing unless there was a catch to it? But... this opportunity was also too good to pass up. Maybe some of the other hunters had some knowledge on these tests. A bit of information to help him make up his mind, perhaps. It was worth sticking around at least and he even spotted a familiar face.
"Wilson! Hey Wilson." He called, waving at him before he actually walked up to the death trainee. "Are they serious?" He asked, obviously referring to the text message. After all, what else could it be?

Smiling, he leaned over to shake her hand. "Melvin. Life trainee. We haven't met. I think I'd remember you." He leaned back in his seat before looking around. "Does weapon testing happen often? I guess they wouldn't pay this much unless it was for research. Do you know what they typically do?" He was very interested in this sort of testing, and unlike the rest who seemed to have some apprehension about being here, Melvin's tail was practically wagging at being seated in a lab again and hoping to be addressed by a professor in some field of Hunter research. If he could talk to them, even better.

Wilson didn’t look too convinced at his reply, but he shrugged at Otto. “If you say so.” He wasn’t going to drag the poor boy back to his bed. He wasn’t his mom. “Well, if you need any help or something just holler, okay?”
“Ryan!” He grinned as the moon trainee arrived. Wilson leaned over to put an arm over Ryan’s shoulders and tug him closer. “Glad you could make it.” Maybe company would make the upcoming suffering hurt less. Still smiling, Wilson’s gaze turned distant as he thought of the last incident with the…minipet…no. “They are, but uh…it’s not going to be fun, I guess you could say.”

Was Molly worried about how much they were being paid for testing? Nah. All part of the job, right? Ever since Dakota mentioned buying Otto new drums, Molly thought this would be a great chance to make some money to pitch in for it. Speaking of Otto… As the Mist trainee approached, she caught sight of the Death trainee up and out of bed, and immediately she was running at him. “ OTTOOOOOOO!” She wailed. Unfortunately…she couldn’t help but barrel into the teen, immediately wrapping her arms around him and nuzzling the top of his head. “ Oh, I’m so happy to see you out and about!” Molly was even so bold as to each other and gently pinch Wilson and Ryan’s cheeks affectionately with a free hand. “ Hello you two! I hope you’re doing well also!”

"Yeah.. ok." Otto mumble with a nod. He didn't want to admit it to himself, but he'd likely need help at some point or another. Sure, he wasn't physically injured, but he knew himself well enough. There were mental blockades. Intense fears. He'd likely find a path he'd need aid on. Ryan was glanced at, his gaze wandering elsewhere. Things were calm now, but a sudden clap of thunder came in the form of Molly. "AAAAAAAH!" Otto shrieked as he was suddenly yelled at and tackled into a hug. His nerves went haywire, his heartbeat erratic. He did not do so well with sudden movements, noises and sudden touching.Otto hyperventilated in her grasp, Tenya trying to calm him down in his mind.

The familiar voice caused her to look around, and smile at the voice of one of her newer friends. "Hey Rolo!" She moved through the crowd, planting a single gloved hand with a thump on his shoulder. "Allan stole Kat and i for a promotion mission just a day or two after i was released from the life labs. It's good to be able to walk around and not be stuck inside." Even if it was scorching heat wise outside. "Though i have to admit, if this is anything like our little... shitty mission, im out of here." She did not want to spell like crap for another week. Looking around the noticed that... she actually knew quite a few people. Rep received a nod in return at his own, before her eyes flicked around to see whom else she knew. Candace, Jerry, Ryan, Marcus, Otto.... She paused at Otto for a moment, upturning an eyebrow. "Good to see you again Otto." Of course she too spent time with him in the Infirmary, but it was good to see him out of it. Then again the bigger question probably was... Was she just nice to Otto and did not pick on him!? Maybe she should leave him be though, poor boy looked like he was about to crack.

Ryan shrugged, a little awkwardly thanks to Wilson's arm wrapped around him, and huffed.
"Wouldn't have expected anything less from them. Especially if they're in a 'generous' mood." He answered. He was kind of surprised they were offering the money in the first place instead of just pulling rank and just ordering them here. Then again, where the full fledged hunters were concerned, they kind of did. Poor sods.
"Glad we at least get the choice before taking that bullet. I don't know if it would be even worth the cash." But it was worth sticking around to find out.
At Molly's sudden entrance, however, Ryan couldn't help but jump when she wailed and collided with Otto; causing Otto to panic and screech.
"Hi Molly. Long time no see." He answered, making a face and rubbing at his cheek, before glancing back at Otto again. "Otto, you look like you're about to pass out..."

Beta testing! Move, Speedway, we're going to be the last in the queue.
Alright, alright, Harrison grumbled, changing into something he didn't mind being tested all over.
He and B0nez were in agreement on this one- he liked money, and- well, B0nez liked loot too, but the ghost had somehow gotten it in his head that this was some kind of pre-release party exclusively for weapons.
Look at that line, B0nez groaned when they finally did get there. Shiiiiiiiiit.
I'm handling it, Harrison said, shouldering his way through the room. He was less than discreet. "Scuse me. On your left. Watch it."
Dual screen's already here. I should have carpooled with him.
I'm taking you, hold your horses.

Sasha straightened abruptly at Otto's shriek, her entire body tensing. She looked like she was about to bolt in his direction, claws bared - but he was surrounded by his friends. Safe. Her heart wouldn't stop racing, her hands wouldn't stop trembling. Sasha forced herself to stay where she was, though she didn't look away from the younger hunter.

Remember her? Oh really? Candace arched a brow and tilted her head to one side, a hand resting on the back of Melvin's chair. "Oh? And why's that?" She asked sweetly, still smiling. Was that a compliment he was paying her? How charming! "Not as far as I know. This is my first time hearing of it, but it's mandatory for full-ranked Hunters so I couldn't pretend I was busy." Pretend? Nah, she wasn't pretending. Her eyes darted to the door while she finished off what was left of her coffee. What time was it? Would he be awake? She checked her phone for the time, rubbing her lips together with discomfort. No. He'd be okay. If she was late...she could claim she was just exhausted from the day before. Yes, that'd work. Stress would do that to a person. "You look very excited for this. That's nice to see." Candace commented distractedly as she put her phone away, setting her empty cup down on the table for now. Suddenly there was yelling and Candace jumped, eyes wide and darting everywhere. Huhwhatwhowha-- "MOLLY~!" Candace called out and waved to the younger woman, supporting herself with the back of Melvin's chair now. No sitting. No sitting. No sitting. Oh! And Harrison too! "Hey, Harrison~." It'd been awhile since she'd seen him. How was he doing with Jordan back?

“Realistic as always,” Wilson noted with a quirked brow. “That’s true. Last time was…” Cue more glazed eyes.
“Hey Molly!” He managed to sputter out as she pinched his and Ryan’s cheeks. Once she let go, Wilson smiled politely while he lightly rubbed the pinched area. “Yeah, I’m doing fine. How about you?”
The shriek from Otto caused Wilson to flinch and take a step back. Eyes wide, he reached out toward Otto, but didn’t quite touch him. “Otto, are you okay?” Wilson was going to answer that for the other death hunter and take the hyperventilating as a solid no. “Try to chill, Otto. You’re fine.”

'Testing' was an enlightening sort of activity that Mimsy enjoyed, but the hefty sum at the end of the message seemed to imply that she was going to be on the wrong side of it this time. Svensyl's excitement over his apparent spotlighting in whatever this testing was meant that he wasn't going to shut up about this one, however, so she was going.
Might as well try to make the best of it.
She wore a look of disdain as she tried to concentrate on silencing his gleeful babbling. It never made any sense to her, spoken in some worthless language that was only good for children's stories. She'd tried to explain to him that conversing in English would actually do both of them some good, but if today was any indication...the advice didn't stick.
