Varteres looked over to the mare and could see she was curious.
"Remember my sister I told you about, the one who just recently lost her mate? Well, they had that kind of love, it was really quite beautiful. Txopu would have done just about anything for Serenity, he would have climbed mountains for her, if he could. He loved her so much and he would never have walked out on her and would still be by her side, if it wasn't for the Six,"Varteres answered.

Nightingale sighed and shook her head. It was a tragedy and that was all it was. She did, however, have a sense of relief at him not saying it was him that had a love like that.. though.. she wasn't entirely sure why she had such a fascination with him.

Varteres continued walking, thinking about his sister and knowing she was starting to heal.
"It is very sad, but she seems to be recovering with the help of Txopu's twin brother and her family. We are keeping an eye on her and making sure she is okay. So, I take it you have never had love like that?"Varteres asked.

Nightingale gave a kind smile. "I am glad that she is getting better... and no.. I have never seen that kind of love, nor experienced it..." She watched him, her wings flexing softly as she looked into his eyes, feeling a warm feeling spread across her chest. For once she didn't feel like she needed to keep moving... she felt safe... This stallion's kind words soothed her in a comforting way she had never known before. And she wasn't about to leave it behind.

Varteres looked over to her and smiled softly, glad to see she seemed to be calm.
"I am glad she is starting to feel better as well, I like being able to see my sister smile. I have seen that kind of love, but I must confess, I have not experienced myself. Maybe both of us will find someone that makes us feel like singing ourselves,"Varteres suggested.

Nightingale blushed. Did he instinctively know she could sing? She hoped not.. She didn't feel she was that good... Though the birds always loved it when she joined their calls in the air. "That would be a wonderful thing to receive." She said softly.

Varteres nodded his head, thinking how wonderful it would be to find love. He had always felt a little jealous of his sister for having a special connection to someone, but he was also very happy for her. She may have lost Txopu, but he knew she was starting to get close to his twin brother.
"I think it would be a treat to be able to find someone to love, to make them feel special. I want to be able to enjoy the beauty around us with someone that would love it as much as I do,"Varteres smiled.

Varteres seemed a little surprised by the question, but he started to think of how to accurately speak his words.
"Beauty is different for everyone, but to me, the simplest things are beautiful. The way the moonlight lights the water of a lake or the ocean, the way the stars sparkle in the sky, listening to the birds singing in the trees. I tend to enjoy nature and in Azrein or humans I am always looking inside for their beauty. A person may be lovely on the outside, but have a terrible attitude. I like people who are kind and loving, to me, those people are beautiful, "Varteres explained.

Gale blushed as he described what he found beautiful, thinking of her own star studded pelt that glistened just like the stars in the sky, and her bird-like behavior. Was he hinting at something? Part of her hoped so... but another part.. a more sane part, or perhaps just her more shy and reserved part thought that maybe he truly did just love the sky as she did. But the way he described things was so poetic... Her heart swooned at his romantic voice, even though it wasn't aimed truly towards her. "That's.. that's really beautiful, Varteres..." She said softly, her bird like trill shaking in bashfullness. "I agree with you... on all those things... However.. I personally love the moon and the way she.. just.. shines at night.. showing that there's hope even when all is dark..." She blushed again, although her voice was back to normal strength.

Varteres looked over to her and could hear the nervousness in her voice as clear as day. He reached over and gave her a gentle nuzzle, trying to help her calm down.
"Yes, the moon shines through the darkness, letting all of us know that there is always light there, if we know where to look. You are right, it gives hope that anything is possible and we can make it through anything,"Varteres nodded regally.

Nightingale sighed at the male's touch. "Well... it is late... perhaps we should sleep and re-meet on the morrow?" She suggested lightly.

Varteres was thoughtful for a moment, then he nodded his head in agreement.
"I believe that is a very good idea, since I am sure you could use some sleep. How about we arrange to meet again tomorrow near the lake? That way we will both know where to go,"Varteres suggested.

Gale spread out her wings. "I will see you there, Sir Varteres." She said, her voice chirping out as she began to flap and run and took off into the night, her pelt blending in with the stars around her.

Varteres watched her fly out of sight, a soft smile on his lips. Once he knew she was gone, he galloped back to the king's stable, where he knew his family waited.
