Mmmph.
The small, quiet, almost high pitched sound left Riley as Xiu continued to add on the things she would do for her. It was all a little too much, and it overwhelmed the mindflayer. She leaned in, as if gravitating towards Xiu, and collected the baku in another hug. This one seemed almost feverish.
You are the best person I have ever met. Whether or not she was exaggerating was a mystery. All that mattered at that very moment was that Xiu was offering to bake Riley all the things.
Forever.

If Xiu knew that she had just promised to bake things for Riley for the rest of her life, she didn't seem to mind...though this was probably because Xiu didn't know how her offer came out sounding. That being said, the baku was having trouble really processing anything right now beyond the excited "she's back, she's back!" that kept repeating in her mind. Considering the mood that she was currently in, one would probably convince Xiu to do anything (except that, those of you with terrible, terrible minds :T).
Letting out a laugh, Xiu returned the hug with a light squeeze of her own, resting her cheek on the mindflayer's shoulder. For a moment, she didn't move, and then she tilted her head to look up. "Hey Riley?"
"Welcome back."

The voice of Xiu felt like that of a child to her. It was not insulting, just an observation that she realized she had come to. Xiu sounded light-hearted, and tender. There was a childlike innocence there that she hadn't quite noticed before. Riley looked down at the ghoul, and her eyes softened in a tenderness she wasn't aware of, either.
Thank you, Xiu. She whispered. It's very good to be back. Very good, indeed.
