"It's Miss Hazel's Birthday," He pressed with yet another wobbly smile, accompanying it with a hopeful strum of his ukulele. "It's very important to celebrate our birthdays, I think. Another year alive is definitely something to be proud of."

Both eyes popped wide open when Jerry said the word birthday. "Ohshi-" Robert started slowly pushing himself off the cot, holding onto his left side with his opposite arm, and swung his legs over the side so he could stand.
"Lead the way, Cosmo. I ain't missin' a birthday for nothing." His arm was covering the bandages that wrapped around his side, which was clearly where his main injury lie. The rest of him looked well enough to walk, and he intended on doing just that.

Just then, the person who Hazel thought was dead suddenly jumped up from the cot, startling the s**t out of her. "GOOD GOD! ZOMBIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!" She shouted, scurrying up the head of her bed, kicking up her blankets, and pointing straight at the tall blonde man. Where was her weapon?! Her eyes widened at Jerry. He must be a necromancer or something and that tiny a** guitar is his magic summoning prop!

Jerry practically sparkled, looking far more his old self, save for his mop of overgrown hair and desperate need for a shower and shave as he lead Robert to the birthday girl. This was exactly the distraction he was looking for. The sudden terrified screams made him pause, hesitating before glancing to his friend with brows raised. "Uuuuh- H-Happy Birthday~" He began to sing, strumming away at the ukulele in hopes it would quiet the girl down a bit and Robert would get the hint to join in.

Robert got the hint. But instead of joining in, he punched Jerry in the head. Not hard, of course, just enough to quit the poor sap from singing his way through the problem.
"Quit it, can't you see she's freakin' out?" He muttered under his breath, before coming closer to Hazel, and bending his head down to her level.
"Hey, sweetheart. It's all right now. I still got a pulse, I ain't no zombie." He held his arm out, with the wrist pointed upward for her to take. "Come on now. Get a grip. I wouldn't be talkin' if I was dead, would I?"

Hazel saw them coming her way. She scrambled for the an object nearby, which happened to be a lamp, held it tightly with her petite hands and wound up, getting ready to hit Robert over the head with it as he bent down to her level.
"That ghost girl with goat legs could talk! She even kicked me in the face! Uh- That means a zombie could talk, too!" almost hyperventilating at this point.
Then she realized Jerry had just attempted to... sing? which caught her off guard.

"Birth-URK!" Jerry flinched as he was bopped, his glasses nearly toppling from his nose, and his fingers discording on the instrument, "Hazel, Hazel, relax! I know he's terrifying, but Robert's a nice guy, really!" He grinned, hoping both of them would get the joke.

Well.. she had a good point.
"She didn't have a pulse. And I do. I promise, I'm still alive."
He gave Jerry a wild stare, and a hopeless shrug. Maybe this was a good time to start singing, after all..

Glancing helplessly between the two, Jerry straightened his glasses, tucked his hair behind his ear, and went back to strumming with a hopeful expression.

With wide eyes at the both of them, still unsure if she should trust them, the sound of Jerry's ukulele managed to calm her down enough to lower the lamp and loosen her grip on it.

Sure enough, it looked like music was soothing the savage frizzbeast. Robert moved to sit in one of the empty cots, his movements slow to keep from opening up any stitches. He cleared his throat, and gave Jerry a little nod. He'd sing along.

He waited for Robert to pick up, but when the man sat to wait for his queue, Jerry suddenly changed his chords and strumming pattern. The uke wasn't as effective at 'good ol' rock and roll' as his guitar but he knew the song all the same, grinning as he suddenly sang out:
"You say it's your birthday! It's my birthday too--yeah They say it's your birthday We're gonna have a good time I'm glad it's your birthday Happy birthday to you!"

Robert liked the Beatles as much as the next man, but when Jerry had pulled the song out, Robert had started to sing the more traditional birthday song, and stopped short when his song made no sense. So he waited, very patiently, until Jerry was done.
And then he punched Jerry in the face again.

This brought back memories of her dad singing Happy Birthday to her when she was lying in bed. Though the song Jerry sang wasn't the usual Birthday Song, sweet memories were uncovered nonetheless and that brought a tear to her eye. The only thing that was missing was the double chocolate cake with extra bunny shaped sprinkles her dad baked her every year. Hazel smiled at the two men trying to sing by her bedside. As strange as that may seem... two grown men... singing... to a 20-year-old girl.
When the supposed not-dead person gave Jerry another punch to the head, Hazel couldn't help but let out a hearty chuckle.
It didn't matter if her birthday didn't go as planned. Just seeing other people caring about her was enough to make her happy. Even if one might or might not be a zombie and the other might or might not be a necromancer.
"Thanks guys," she said with a genuine smile.

Jerry's part of the song was cut short and the ukulele suddenly dropped from his hands as he gave a yelp and cupped his nose.
