Angie decided to use Work-up one more time. The slowness of the battle was a bit annoying, but the Duskull wouldn't stay frozen forever, and she needed to take advantage of his frozen state while she could.
"Elda, use Work-up again," she called, and the Kangaskhan repeated the move.

Elda eyed the frozen Duskull, uncertain how to bite down on him when he was covered in ice. She gave it a try anyway, launching herself at him with her jaws wide.

It was about this time that the Safeguard veil around Elda faded from sight. Angie supposed that now was a good time to set it up again. She told Elda to use Safeguard, and the veil popped into existence again for a while longer.

Elda backed away, a bit disoriented when Crunch was disabled. Angie frowned when she realized that she'd have to resort to Ice beam. It was a strong move, but not as strong as Crunch would be against the Duskull. Oh well.
"Use Ice beam now, and make it count!" She called, and Elda unleashed ice again.

It took Angie a moment to figure out what had happened. Crunch had been already disabled, and now Elda had only one move available to her. She could switch her out for Opal, but that'd wipe out the benefit from Work-up. Or she could wait out the disable and hope for the best. She sighed and hope she made the right decision.
Elda growled in frustration when she realized she wouldn't be able to land the final blow right away. "That was clever," she admitted to Mephistopheles. "But things still might not go your way." She was then told by Angie to use Work-up, and she breathed deeply, biding her time.

The duskull motioned to Lenore, who nodded before throwing a pokeball into the icy field. Imakuni landed with a thump as Mephistopheles went back to Lenore. The stupid bibarel looked around. "HUH? Who you?! Crush!!"

Elda bristled immediately at the sight of the Bibarel and bared her teeth. "You can try, you pest," she growled and got ready to attack.
Angie was a bit alarmed at the sight of the trainer's other Pokemon. The Kangaskhan definitely had little reason to care for them, and she didn't want her to blindly attack without a thought to strategy.
"Use Ice beam!" She told Elda, and she blasted ice at the Bibarel eagerly.

Ice encased the bibarel's head, and he stood motionless for a moment. He fell over, the ice shattering as he landed with a thud. He got up, a blank look on his face. His face suddenly took on a look of rage as he shouted, "NO." He rushed over at the khangaskhan, attempting to throw her into the stadium wall.

Elda wasn't expecting the Bibarel to hit so hard. She grunted as she got hit for the first time and was slammed into the stadium wall. Growling in pain, she started forward, until Angie called for her to stop.
"Don't attack yet. You need to use Safeguard!" Angie told her. The Kangaskhan rumbled angrily and renewed the veil that protected her.
