An involuntary shudder ran through him at the mental image of having a bug extracted from you by Dr H, a thought rapidly followed by the realisation that there was a very real possibility the same thing had happened to Jordan. Harrison's fears might not have been so unfounded after all. It made his blood run cold.
He wasn't sure how Rin even managed to sleep lately with the idea of what could have been crawling around in her, but he figured the drugs had no small part to play in it.
"H is a creep but I'd rather have him involved than whatever the hell those horsemen ******** could put in you. I've seen those bastards do s**t that's just... flat out ******** horrific. You should probably just be glad at least he's efficient, at least they didn't leave it to some newbie Life tech."

"True. He wouldn't leave anything behind. Especially not in one of his Lifers. It'd be a threat to him surely," she glanced down into the mug before stealing away several more slurps before it got too cold and looked at him, "Thanks for keeping your promise... I really really really needed this."
"And.. uh.. thanks for not heading for the hills at this knowledge. I'm not sure but it's still creepy to think a creature like that may have been trying to eat a friend from the inside out."

"Yeah yeah, its nothing. I promised you, you did what I asked, now we are even again. Hot chocolate always makes things better. Even ******** bug infestations. Good thing you got it out before you drank it. I wouldn't want some ******** bug sharing my good hot chocolate." Joking was still easier than thinking about things crawling around in people, in the fact they'd had contact with those people, they'd been in that lair - were they at risk?
He didn't want to think about it, didn't want to think about the bug infested husks from before.
"And I'm not gonna run away, bugs creep me out but its not like...you know" he waved a hand vaguely, she knew what he meant, surely.

Rin smirked in reply, "I wouldn't want to share this with some ******** bug either... just, uh, Rep?" She abruptly pat a spot on the bed she was laying in, "Sit here a*****e. I want to talk and s**t. It's awkward talking to you when you're way over there."
She had an idea of what he meant, at least she thinks she does and it put her at ease.

He was still undeniably weirded out by the bug thing, but it was Rin, and he wasn't about to make her feel like any more of an outcast than she probably already did after spending days unnoticed in some ******** cage somewhere. So going against his usual aversion to physical contact, he headed over to sit beside her on the bed.
"Fine. Though I ******** hate these beds. I spent a rediculous amount of time in them when I first got to this ******** island." The time he'd spent not being sure if he'd be able to swing an axe again, times unconscious and beaten from fighting.
Eyeing the mug to make sure it was empty or close enough, he leaned over out of nowhere to give her a sweeping hug.
"I'm sorry I didn't know you were there right? I was really ******** worried about Jordan. And no one told me." He gave her a gentle squeeze. "Or I'd have been worried about you too right?"

Rin was startled at first by the hug and the pang of pain from being grabbed at - but all negatives went out the window rather quickly and soon she was hugging him back and muttered softly into his chest, "I was just so scared... and... well... how would you have felt?"
She was trembling again but this time from welled up emotions she was struggling to keep down for now.

Rep didn't let go for a bit. These days he was less leery about what fleeting contact he could get - there was a slow realisation that sometimes the hugs you received might be the last ones you'd ever get. He stoked her hair reassuringly.
"I'd have been ******** shitting myself and I'm not afraid to say it. That b***h could get right into our minds, she could make us believe anything." He'd almost started to doubt the very fabric of who he was in the strange illusion world. "You were ******** allowed to be scared Rin. Sometimes, fear is all there is left. It can be like, that last wall of sanity, like as long as you are still afraid, you still know who the enemy is."
