"He deserved it," Painite said, watching her passively now. She looked proud though, nodding her head. "It's not easy to hurt people, not for everyone. For me, it's a game. I choose my enemies, and I don't waste my time with people like this. Sometimes it's necessary, but the skills you pick up from encounters like this are ageless and important."
She shifted, still stooped, looking casual now though she was still feeling that high of adrenaline as well.
"They're not dead," she said, "they'll wake up in the morning, and they most likely won't remember a thing. Their brains aren't wired for something like this. Even I can't believe some of the things I see. Anyway, killing civilians isn't necessary. It's the White Moon, all those order cronies, that we need to use our full strength against."
She patted one of the bouncers and got up, storing the energy she had gathered and offering her hand to Kyanite.
"You have a lot of potential, you know. You're fast on your feet and you didn't panic or shut down. And I'm always around to help train you further, or aid you, if you ever get in trouble. Okay?"

Lt. Kyanite expected everything that Painite said like a pearl of wisdom to be treasured. If the general had not been here, there was no way she would have been half as confident in that fight. It was much easier to throw a punch knowing that someone was there to stop the guy from killing her. She was far happier to battle a senshi than a civilian, but the idea of that made the blood in her veins run cold. These guys were bouncer thugs, but senshi were the ones that had the power to kill her cousin. And he was a General King! She had almost no confidence going up against that. She had seen magic in action at the battle against the senshi. It wasn't something she was keen to face again.
These fears, though, remained unspoken. She didn't want Painite to think any less of her, especially when it seemed like she was sort of thinking highly of her right then. No one in the Negaverse had really thought highly of her so far. She had just been one big screw up. "I didn't shut down, you're right," she said, voice bubbling with tentative pride. "These guys are pretty big." It was her way of trying to feel better about her performance, even if she was certain she would be icing her wounds for a few days. Thank god for expedited healing time.
"Thanks, General Painite," she said, taking her hand to get back on to her feet -- with the energy in tow. "This was really useful for me. If it's really okay, I would like to train more in the future."
Maybe she could actually learn to be a little aggressive? It was a dim hope.

Painite smiled and nodded, offering to take the energy. She tugged Kyanite into a quick hug, because that was just how she rolled, and then let her go.
"You keep practicing and I'll keep an ear out for you. I'm sure I'll be hearing about you, right?" She glanced down at the thugs, kicking the one nearest to her lightly, just to get him away from her leg.
She didn't want him touching her when she teleported, lest she take him with her.
With a nod, Painite vanished. Teleporting was her favorite method of transportation now, and she felt it gave the kinds of entrances and exits she really wanted. Something with a little flare, always a little showy. She still couldn't help herself on the theatrical front.
Some things would never change.
