Batyah emorhconom esor Batyah Lots of good answers i may say, seems we have some sage one and stage two Christians here. now how many are willing to give up everything to get God's word out there? and before you answer pretend it will happen with in a day. Stages? What do you mean by stages? I have never heard of that before. What are you basing this ranking on? Are you talking about knowledge, spiritual maturity, or something else? You have me so confused. Now for your answer. We are to sacrifice everything we have. "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me." Matthew 10:38 Paul even states that we should die daily so Christ can live through us. This means we should even sacrfice our will and wants so we can do God's will. there are proximity three stages in being a Christian, 1. Be freed from sin, a.k.a accepting Christ as your Savior 2. Letting God change your inner self, such as thought, will, etc 3. Showing an outer change and doing what Christ did or as Christ commanded, such as coming out of the sin, whether that be leaving say a cult, or no longer partaking in the corruption say at work weather is be sharing dirty jokes or what have you. Number three doesn't make any sense. If someone had strong faith they wouldn't join a cult in the first place. One can only come put of sin when they die due to the fact that it is in our nature to sin. Also people are tempted in different ways so you cannot compare one person's struggles to someone else's. The idea of stages is completely off due to the fact that saintification, growing in our walk, is a continual process. It's not a three step program. In fact it's a constant struggle against the world, demons, and our flesh as we try to get closer to God.

To be Christ-like would mean we are JUST like Christ. Last time I checked.. I'm no where near there. To be Christ-like is a goal for christians. An Impossible one due to our human condition, but a goal nonetheless. It is not "un Christ like" to disagree with something someone has said. Im not trying to bust your chops or anything, just saying to be Christ-like is kinda sorta impossible >.> Also, what exactly does cow polk mean? I sure hope that wasnt meant to be an insult of any kind. We dont allow that in these parts, ya hear? XD

Oh gawd! Please don't rank me as a Christian!! I will probably brake the negative chart rankings emotion_0A0 emotion_sweatdrop
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God has commanded us to love him with all our hearts and to love others as we love ourselves. If we do this; we will long to do his will, and if we love each other then we will want to share the love of Christ with them rather than let them perish.
" But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Mathew 6:33)

If that's the case, then I apologise. It's my job as a crew member of this guild to do all I can to make sure all members are being treated with basic common respect. But again, if you meant no disrespect, then I apologise for calling you out.

First and foremost, I see my "job" as a Christian to spread God's love. This includes speading the Worrd and educating people about Christ's teachings, obviously, but also treating all people with love, kindness, and compassion. The junkie and the prostitute are as much God's children as the priest and the choirboy, and in fact, it's those that society has chewed up and spat out that need our compassion more than anyone.
I'd say that my second duty as a Christian is to do my best to look at myself objectively (or as objectively as possible) and to always be aware of my human failings, and to never stop striving to better myself as a human being, and as a follower of Christ. Just because Christ-like perfection is out of reach for us lowly humans doesn't mean that we should ever give up trying our hardest to emulate our Saviour the best we can. smile

Batyah thank you for who ever invited me. personally I wonder how many people know their Bible and their faith enough to do the job Jesus commanded us to do. Ok, first question, anyone even know what our job as Christians is? Well, I believe the job of Christians first and foremost is to love God with all our heart, mind, and body, and then to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Also, the concept of "knowledge of faith" eludes me. I think it less a knowing and more a doing. Something that grows while we are doing God's will, and faith is only interesting, engaging, and useful when lived out. The only thing that needs to be "known" as a Christian is love. If we are wrong about what love is, we are wrong about who God is.
