Luka nodded to Cesc's explanation. It made sense. His guardian was also quite relaxed about when Luka went out to feed. More like, the acupuncturist had realized Luka needed to be in the woods often or else the boy turned white like a sheet and suffered from what may have been homesickness. A deep, strong attachment of the soul that had carried on even into his new life.
"While I would like to so Vivi again. I believe Elai would rather me home. I'm sure Vivi and Shepard are also busy catching up with their friends. I can just visit you and her on another day when Elai and I go to Gambino." He said with a smile. While he would've liked to see the lively Frenchwoman, it seemed better to give her some space if she came to visit friends.
"The city is okay. The air is dirty, and there is a lot of noise. Not like the sounds you'd hear here, but the sounds of people starting their days and living their lives. The city is full of the sounds of revving cars, people yelling, and construction. It's a loud and busy place." While he loved the energy in cities, he found the sounds were too overwhelming. A loud cacophony of noises that rang the air. There were the occasional welcomed sounds like street performers, but those were rare.
Feeling the sun's rays warming his skin, Luka shifted his gaze upward. The sun was already high up. Soon, it would be time for him to leave and head home as usual. That was the one condition his guardian had set with him with these overnight camping trips his charge indulged in. Luka would have to be home before 10AM or else he risked having the privilege of camping along revoked.
"It was nice meeting you, Cesc. Unfortunately, it's almost time for me to leave. My guardian will be expecting me home soon." He gave Cesc an apologetic smile. It was unfortunate that he had to cut his meeting with the Stag so short, but now that he knew who Cesc was with, it would be no problem finding and planning another meet between them. "I'll be sure to call Vivi later so that we can meet again." Luka said with a smile.

Rhedefre smiled listening to the other speak, impressed by the other's knowledge and happy to have found a kin so unexpectedly in these woods. He, too, had noticed the sunlight, like a gentle reminder that his time in their hospitality had come to an end. His smile became warmer, then, and he nodded as he spoke. "Yes. I should get back, too. Whenever you are in town, I hope we can meet."
And with that, the encounter was over.
Rhedefre made his way back through those ancient woods, his heart lighter than it had been when he was going in. He thought of this new friend -- Luka, the light maker -- with some fondness and interest, distracted by social and friendly possibilities. How nice to have another Raevan made of light in his life. Light was a strange and fickle parent; he did not yet know much of it, and here was someone with whom he could explore.
How lucky.
As he reached the threshold of the woods, however, a strange noise cut into his optimistic reverie.
It was a cry, he thought, a low, mournful sound. It was gone as soon as it had come, like a distant echo, or far-away conversation, difficult to place. He turned around, looking at the trees, between them, at their branches and leaves and bark.
They said nothing more.
"You have Luka," he whispered. "And he understands you, doesn't he?"
He waited, but the trees remained silent until he left.
