Yoki woke up early the next morning, the rain had stopped now but it left the land damp. What a nice day... Yoki thought as she looked out at the sun, witch was now begining to rise. Yoki stood up and let out a small yawn, then noticed Nyota was still asleep. The hyena just stood there for a moment, unsure what to do.Then an idea hit her, she quietly walked out of the den and, once she was at a distence that Nyota wouldn't hear her, ran off down to the watering hole.

Once at the watering hole Yoki grabbed a leaf and began to fold it into a cup, much like Nyota had done yesterday. After many minutes of folding Yoki finally figured it out, it wasn't an exact replica but it was very similar and would get the job done. Yoki dipped the cup into the water and filled it up, setting it aside on the land before Yoki quietly waded into the watering hole.

Yoki waited for a moment before feeling a fish bump past her, a smile crossing her face as it did. Yoki stood still as a stone until she saw another fish slowly swimming her way. She quickly slammed her paw on the creature, then dipped her head into the water so she could carry it. Finally Yoki happily bounded her way out of the watering hole to where she had left the cup.

Yoki sat the, now dead, fish at the edge of the waves, that way the waves could clean it and keep it from drying out but other fish couldn't get it while Yoki dried out her pelt. At first the hyena laid down in the sun but, after seeing a mouse come into the clearing, she stood up and stalked over to the tall grass, then jumped on the mouse, catching it's tail in her paw. After killing the mouse she set it down next to the bowl and smiled at her work before laying back down to dry out again.

After a few minutes Yoki's coat was dry enough so that it wouldn't drip all over Nyota's den. Yoki gave herself a shake to thow off excess water and picked up the mouse and fish. She thought about bringing the water with her to but was too afraid of dropping it to do so. She quickly ran back to the den, and set the food next to Nyota. Then quietly went back for the water cup. Yoki picked the cup up carefully and barely managed to carry it back to the lioness, but she did. After setting the cup next to the mouse and fish infront of the sleeping Nyota Yoki quietly went outside to dry her pelt out more.

Nyota slowly awakened in the morning, the rain gone and the sun rising. It was a beautiful day, perfect for hunting, at it left the watering holes full for when the prey awoke. she opened her eyes and sat up, stretching out on the ground, she smelt a mouse and was ready to pounce when she noticed it was dead in front og her, along with a fish and water, Yoki was outside, she must have brought her this. she didn't want to make her feel odd by sharing, so she stretched out again and picked it all up to bring outside

"Good morning" she said cheerfully to Yoki with a smile on her face. she was very grateful for a beautiful day. the sun wasn't too hot, and she knew the water would be perfect for swimming later. she started with the mouse smaller bites, it was very meaty, and she had not eaten a mouse this good in days, even weeks. "would you want to go to the river with me for a swim? i was planning on it later in the day." Yoki looked like she already went for a swim, but maybe she caught the fish like that.

"have you eaten anything?" she asked casually, hoping not to make Yoki uncomfortable again by Nyota offering too much hospitality.she respected Nyota and didnt want to bug her much, and it really hadn't affected Nyota much, but she appreciated the extra food.she wasn't really sure if she was still sleeping, nd decided to sleep outside once the sun came out, or was she just relaxing? she really didn't know, and decided to stop talking in case Yoki was still sleeping.

She then started to eat the fish, and it tasted very good. it was an excellent taste Nyota hadn't tasted in years, her mother had fished for her before, and that was one of the few memories she had of family moments. she finished off the fish and enjoyed the sun warming her coat and drifted off into a small daydream, but she was awoken by the scent of a bird, she jumped up to it and pawed it so it would fall out of the air and land in her teeth. she carried it to Yoki hoping she would eat it.

YokI sat up and smiled at Nyota when she came out of the den. "Good morning Nyota, how did you sleep?" The Hyena asked happily. Yoki looked back out at the rising sun and let out a slight yawn. The hyena then looked down to see her friend was pleased with her breakfast and smiled, very glad to please her friend. She smiled at her apperent pleasure, now regretting that she had not caught more for her friend, as Nyota had been so kind to her.

Yoki's smile faded as she heard what Nyota said about swimming, she knew she could not stay. She was very tempted to say yes, but she knew that she had to leave soon "I would love to stay and swim with you, I really would, but if I don't get moving soon I will never get to where I am going. Besides, I have troubled you more than enough. I'll will probably get out of your hair after we go fishing, if you still want to go fishing that is." The hyena bowed her head appologeticly to the lioness, slightly afraid she would not understand and be angered by her not giving a better reason for leaving.

The female hyena smiled lightly at the question, as she had not eaten yet but did not want to trouble the lioness in telling her the truth. "Um... Ya, I caught a couple of voles earlier..."she mumbled it, she didn't like lying but didn't want to tell the truth either. She desided it best not to say anything after that, as Nyota did not seem to have much to say and she did not want to ruin her freind's tranquil morning by talking her ear off. So the canine simply watched as the sun rose in silence.

The hyena smiled when the lioness offered her the bird she grabbed it softly and began to eat it, being careful to eat slowly so Nyota would think she wasn't very hungry since she had eaten already that morning. "Thank you very much my friend, you are ever so kind." the hyena said to Nyota with a smile. Yoki continued to eat the bird in silence, once more trying not to ruin the tranquility of her friends morning, also trying to create the least amout of disturbance in Nyota's normal routein.

It was alright Yoki didn't want to go swimming she knew she needed to go, so it was fine, she just thought she would ask. "its fine, i know you had to go, thanks again" she smiled lightly smiled at her, as it was almost time for her to go, and then they would return to their normal lifes. she was sad to have Yoki go, but it was time, and she knew she wanted to find the clan she had looked for, and Nyota didn't want to make her stay.

"would you like to go to the river to fish?" she saw many felines fishing there before, and they shared some fish, it was very good when she tried it, and she wanted to get the fish from there more.

she didn't think Yoki was telling the truth about the voles, but it was fine. she knew once again she had done more then enough to take care of her while she had stayed with Nyota, but she liked taking care of her friends, maybe she would have cubs one day, but not anytime soon. she shook the thought from her head, and wanted to head to the river.

she started to walk in the direction of the river, sitting down waiting for Yoki to follow her. she already could feel the soft whispering breeze the river always seemed to have nearby it. she was happy to go to the river, she was going swimming after being taught to fish, she always enjoyed to cool waters of the river. she continued to think of the water as she waited for her to follow.

Yoki was glad that Nyota understood, but didn't know what Yoki had done for Nyota that was desurving of thanks, so she figured she would ask. "I'm sorry... I would love to stay if I could... But... I set out to find this clan so I will find it I shall." Yoki wasn't sure why she had worded it that way, but that was just how it came out. "But, um... Thank you for what? What ever it is, you are more than welcome, but I can't remember doing anything that is desurving of a thanks..." The female hyena's words trailed off as she thought, still unable to think of anything that would be desuriving of her friend's thanks she figured she would just wait to find out when Nyota answered her question.

Yoki smiled at the rogue's question "Of course, I would love to. Yoki said happily, quickly following her friend as they walked to the river together. Yoki felt sad that she would have to leave her friend soon, but she knew if she stayed with Nyota she would compromise her entire reason for leaving her old clan and traveling this far. It wouldn't be bad to be a rogue, but she had come so far, and couldn't allow herself to stop now.

Yoki walked quietly with her friend for a little while, deep in thought, before finally breaking the silence. "Perhaps I will pop by some time, once I've settled into my new clan. I have plans to refine my hunting skills, perhaps I will come back and help you with hunting for a day or something, once I have gotten better at it that is." The female hyena smiled at the thought of visiting her friend again and repaying her for her kindness. "Or perhaps, should fate take me another way, I shall come and heal you should you get hurt. Or maybe I am fated to become a seer, I could come and read your fortune for you, or-" The hyena stopped and laughed, knowing that she was probably talking her poor friend's ear off."Well, you get the point." Yoki smiled and continued walking with her friend, patiently awaiting her response.

she wasn't too sure what Yoki meant by not deserving of thanks, she had was mostly thanking her for the company, but also fishing and hunting. "i just wanted to thank you for the company, and teaching me fish" she smiled lightly, walking with her friend to the river. she heard the faint rush of the river.she hoped she didn't run into anything dangerous while fishing or swimming, as there was sometimes the odd predatory fish she stepped on, though it didn't happen often.

"whatever path you choose, i will probably be at my den. i might even have cubs by then! who knows?" she was hoping she might find a mate someday, as she always wanted to hunt for cubs, but she left her family's den before she really gave herself a chance. "your a great hunter Yoki, you might make a wonderful one in your new clan, its one of the easiest to follow." she smiled again, seeing the river now. it was only a little longer until she felt the cool water touch her paws.

It was getting hot out "afternoon soon, its getting hotter already" thought Nyota. she was excited to get fishing too, she almost ran the rest of the way there, but she just needed to ask. "wanna race the rest of the way? it would be fun!" that was the silly side of her personality coming out, she wasn't embarrassed, as she usually was, this time was different, she was with a friend, she sat, awaiting an answer from Yoki.

Oh my gosh! I'm soooooooo sorry, I thought we had already finished this one crying I'm sorry

Yoki smiled as the lioness thanked her, she still felt undeserving of thanks regardless. She always worried about being a burden on others, but she knew she was probably being too apologetic and too thankful, and she worried it might become annoying for her friend. "As I said, you are far more then welcome. I have enjoyed this break from my journey, you have been very kind to me. Thank your for putting up with me." She said and gave Nyota a friendly smile. Yoki knew that stoping may very well have slowed her arrival to her new clan, but she was still very glad she stopped.

As they continued walking and talking Yoki's ears perked up for a moment when she heard the soft sound of the rushing river, and her smile widened slightly. She knew the sound meant that they were getting closer to the river, which meant that her opportunity to be of some use was getting closer and closer. Nyota's comments only helped widen her smile even more, and she began to already look foreword to seeing her friend again some day, even though she hadn't left yet. "I will be sure to come back and visit you when I have mastered what ever profession I go into, so I can show off how much I have improved. Who knows, perhaps the both of us will have pups... er... cubs in your case, the next time we see each other." Yoki hadn't thought about it too much before, but the thought of finding a mate did seem pretty appealing when she thought about it.

When Yoki heard her friend's request for a race, she first thought to say no, since she knew she would lose. After thinking about it for a moment however, she decided it wouldn't hurt to run some since the sooner they got to the river the sooner Yoki got to her destination, well, so she hoped at least. "Ok, I guess so, I know I'm going to lose though. Ready? Set? Go!" Yoki shouted suddenly, in attempts to be playful, before dashing towards the river.

Nyota bolted towards the river. She wasnt sure if she had passed Yoki or not, but it was all for fun anyways. Nyota kept running, the river almost in sight...
