"They...they just needed one more. They'd keep kidnapping our friends...one of them would make the choice, I couldn't let that happen. I told them...I told them I'd do it, if it meant..." Amrita trailed off, her head tilting to the side with her eyes squeezed shut as if she were in a great deal of pain. Calder had told her they lied to her, to trick her using her friends as bait...and she knew he was right, but at the time she was so convinced she was ready to end her existance as she knew it, to stop her friends from potentially making the same decision.
The Vetala lifted her head as Sammy forced her to, looking her in the eye but only for a moment. The contact was uncomfortable as Caelius' words rang through her mind.
You become ours: our property, our eyes and ears, our mouth to be pupped when we need you, our Fear to be manipulated.
"They don't have to take me again." She insisted, the pain still here but now mingling with anger. "They...they did something to us. Tagging - we're theirs." There was a pause as she licked her lips, letting out a low whine of absolute misery as she repeated back those very words that haunted her. "Their property, he said. Their eyes, their ears...h-he...he said they could manipulate us..." She was home, she knew what those words meant and the gravity of her situation. It had sunk in now, and it shocked her to her core.
She tore her chin away from Sammy's hand, her head bowing so low it was clear she was trying to curl into herself. The reality had sunk in now, for the first time since she arrived home. She had thought about it a great deal in the last few days, but today it hurt her fully, what those words meant.

"But they didn't we got you out. We got you guys away, you don't have to anymore, you don't have too..." Her own voice trailed off as she felt the other ghoul turn to look away clenching her eyes before they finally made contact again.
"Don't have too? Tagging?" She grew quiet listening as Amrita explained, eventually she couldn't even look at her, the smaller ghoul tugging away from her hands looking away ashamed and angry.
"Control... there has to be a way. We can fix it. We aren't like them, we can change, we can grow. New bodies new minds but still the same person. Maybe Cricket, or the Horsemen..."
The Horsemen.
The thought was both salvation and damnation all at once in the back of her mind. Even as she watched Amrita she knew what would ultimately have to be done, to protect her, to stop it from happening again. To get revenge.
"Ammi if anything happens, find me, tell me. What ever I can do to help you know I'll be here for you."

Sammy's optimism was met with a slow, sad shake of her head.
"They put it in my core..." She could change bodies better than the rest of them, but it wouldn't matter. It was part of her not her shell. She could feel it there, and worse she was almost getting used to it; that was the scariest part of this, getting used to the feel of the parasite in your very person.
She didn't say anything to the mention of Cricket or the Horsemen, but she did give a little nod to her promise for help. At this rate she had more than a handful of people she needed to run to, and she wasn't sure that she even would if the time came but...their concern was touching. It was something she was trying to focus on now, the only thing keeping her from drowning under all this stress. Her friends loved her enough to still hang around her, knowing she could easily turn on them.
Then again, they were her friends. If she turned on them, they also loved her enough to stop her, right?
"Sammy...if I do something...bad...you'll take me down, right?"

Her core. That was something, something she couldn't fix, she wasn't even fully sure how to deal with that. The term core had only been mentioned to her in passing but it was something that made up every person in Halloween, a sort of 'human soul' kind of thing.
She didn't shy away from Amrita though, she stayed right with the other ghoul keeping a close on her a sad frown across her face that became even deeper when she spoke again.
"I made a promise... after Red, when I learned about Riley, and Riley turned. I promised I wouldn't hurt the people I loved. Somewhere there must be a better way..." She closed her eyes the purple flames flickering under her eyelids before she opened them again.
"But if you want... if you needed me too... to do that." She leaned over pulling the ghoul into a tight hug resting her forehead against the others shaking softly.
"I'd do it... but only if you where sure..."

"You have to. If I do something, if I attack my friends, or if I do something that isn't like me, you have to. Please. Don't let anyone try to protect me, tell people to bring me down. It's what I want. Please." Amrita was serious; the overly sad, dismal expression fading into something stern and determined. Sammy had to do this. All of her friends had to do this. There wasn't any other choice, at least not in her mind.
"I would rather you dissipate - or kill - me than to live like that." She moved, shifting until she could drop her books and grip Sammy's shoulders. "Promise me!" She wouldn't accept anything less.

"I won't kill you, not till I have no other choice. Restraining, anything but that unless we have no other option..." Each time she asked, the pain in her chest grew, this wasn't some half thought out plea, this was the words of someone who had condemned themselves fully to their fate.
Suddenly hands where on her shoulders, another time she might have applauded Amrita at twisting her hands around proper for this moment, yet she was too shaken by the tone and pleading in her voice.
"I. I promise. I'll do it." Her own voice soft and weak, agreeing to kill your friend was not an easy thing to do.

Amrita stared at her as though she were unconvinced, but soon she relaxed and heaved a heavy sigh. Sammy's shoulders were released and fell limply on her own knees, once more slouching in defeat.
"Thank you." She had Sammy's word now, and trusted her enough to keep it should the time come. Truth be told she didn't want to die, but it was better than the alternative. Granted, the easiest thing would be for her to just leave school entirely...
Hm. Now that was a thought...
"Was there...anything else...?"
