This place should be first and foremost a general hangout for people who were a part of the Barton team. We had such a good vibe going on during the event that it would be great to carry it over into a place like this. We already have a good start with a thread for random chatting and posting of things like "Ugh, I feel like crap today" and "Holy s**t how idiotic can you be that guy made a good offer and you refused it" that would normally be seen as "dairy" styled posts. That leaves the rest of the main forum for threads of a more specific nature like planning gifting threads at Xmas and asking for help and advice on something going on in your life.
Another guild I'm in keeps the main forum this way because a few years back we were being flooded with a lot of threads about what someone was eating that day and the daycare kid their mom watches, which are considered to be more "dairy" posts. It works real well because it leaves the forum open for people to make threads discussing movies, TV shows, comics, music, joking around stuff, etc. Keeping the number of subforums small helps as well. You don't want so many that people aren't posting in the main forum. Having one for art and another for games works well in the start. However, you'll have to remind people that we have those subforums because I've seen in other guilds where people forget the exist and they go without posting for a day or more.
Remember, start small and expand as needed. Also, I'd recommend making that Chatterbox thread a sticky so it's always where people will find it because once this place gets going it'll get lost in the mix if someone decides to get all silly and post a huge number of crazy joke around threads in one go.

I think someone should create a "RO 2012 Barton Museum"
D: like.. have screenies in there, a timeline of what happened to our scores/anything else (if possible). The leaderboards..just everything really, so we dont forget. A place to recollect those memories and stuff.

Then again I'm hoping someone opens up other buildings threads in this place.

Right now I'd say keep it in the main forum for now. If more people are looking to make charity or quest threads then they can make a subforum for it. At this point I'd suggest they keep things as is and make subforums as needed. It's best to grow as the guild grows.
But yes, any thread can be moved to any subforum in the guild at any time.

If more people are looking to make charity or quest threads then they can make a subforum for it. At this point I'd suggest they keep things as is and make subforums as needed.
