There was a lump in his throat that was hard to swallow down, no matter how many times he tried. Despite not wanting to put a extra burden on her, he wanted to be honest. Just...just in case the worst happen. The last thing he wanted for them to think was that he abandoned them at a time like this. He wanted to be the one for everyone to rely on, but sometimes even he needed to lean a bit back.
Her assurance was treasured, and he smiled, leaning in to nuzzle her. "I know. You are all my herd now." His family.
Turning his hand around, placed one hand atop hers and then pressed something smooth and round into her hand.
"And if you ever need me, I'll be there for you just as you've been there for me."
He slipped his hands away for her to see his small badge in her hand.

Christof had started when he woke to find his arms empty. Frantically he had glanced around through the dark room of sleeping... friends... to spot the retreating shadow.
He relaxed ever so slightly, but gathered himself up to follow all the same. By the time he had crept close enough, hiding in the shadows like only an Igor could, Calder and Amrita were already talking. He tensed, ready to barge in and interrupt as she recalled the incidents with the Humans... but crawled back the moment they started talking about him.
He flushed self consciously, stitched mouth worming with worry. He debated announcing himself as the conversation shifted, but then Calder mentioned leaving.
He shifted, leaning in to hear clearer. He knew about Calder and his problems with his herd but... with everything that had been going on, it had completely slipped his mind that the problems had not only continued but escalated. Calder was going away? Now was not a good time to separate from this herd.
A soft whine escaped his throat before he could stop it.

Amrita returned the nuzzle, leaning into the boil for his warmth. When she felt something press into her hand she jumped a little, looking down and opening her fingers to see what it was he had given her. It was...his pin...? She squeezed it tightly and brought the hand up against her chest as if holding a treasured item.
"Thank you..." She breathed out, untangling her free hand from his to press it against the side of his face, leaning in to kiss the cheek closer to her. It was a sign of affection or so she had come to understand, and it just felt right to do it now. "But I think...you've been there for me more than I've been for you." The thought was depressing; she was always hurting herself for the sake of others, and Calder was always there for her, too. So when she dropped her hands, it was her turn to press a small round object into his hand; her own pin, in exchange for his. She would always have his back, just like he always had hers.
"Tell me where you're going? So I can get you if you don't come back." She was hellbent now, completely hellbent. "And don't tell me---" She paused, startled, upon hearing the soft whine. It made her scramble closer to Calder, eye wide with fear.(Pin image to be updated!)

He was surprised by the kiss, and touched his cheek a moment before she offered her own pin. It was nice to see it, and he held it in his hand, letting his fingers brush over the smooth surface before pinning it upon the lapel of his jacket along with Christof and Mal's pins. His hand touched over them, pressing upon them, and as if giving a vow, he smiled to her. "I'll be leaving as soon as I can to be able to come back as quickly as I can. The hunters should be handling themselves after what happened. I want to be here before they do something else. I want to be here for all of you. I'll tell you exactly, but I want to get this done before something happened, and to be here for everyone." Despite how badly things might turn out.
It was then that he heard the whine, and as Amrita crawled to him, Calder's eyes started to smoke as his ears went back and he glared into the woods. "Who's there?!!"
