"If that's all there is to know about you, then I reckon we ain't such strangers anymore," Ricky winked. It was a fair amount of logic coming from his dumb, dumb, dumbdumbdumbdumb little face. "But I won't push it, I can tell when a girl's not interested." "A chick truck?" he questioned. He wasn't quite sure what she meant by it, but he knew he didn't like the sound of it. If there was any way to convince him not to buy a truck, it would be to call it a chick truck. "You think I'm gonna buy a car you call a chick truck? Hell naw." "I need a man truck. Cause I'm a man," he said with emphasis and even a light flexing of his biceps. He wanted to make it very clear that he was, indeed, male.

Took long enough...She bounced up and down in the back of the truck bed for a few more bounces before she stopped and eventually hopped back out and onto the ground. Just in time for Ricky to start flexing. "Chick trucks... are usually smaller trucks... th'sort that daddies buy their 'princesses' when they decide they wanna drive somethin' more rebellious and powerful than a smaller car." She gave the bicep that was being semi-flexed nearby a look of Is that really necessary before shuffling along down the lot some more. He said he didn't want the truck, so she wasn't going to try to sell it. She wasn't her father. "I'm guessin' somethin' the size of that first one is more what yer lookin' for... since much smaller does qualify fer a 'chick truck.'" She swung both her hands behind her head as she walked, keeping a casual look out for another larger vehicle.

"First truck was pretty nice, yeah," Ricky nodded. "Jus' a little beaten up was all. Unless you think that's the best I'm gonna find. It wasn't a bad deal or nothin', I don't think. Hell, I don't even really know." He chuckled a bit, not as savvy as he thought he should be about trucks. Sure, he knew his own old truck pretty well, but hadn't looked much at other cars. "So did your daddy hook you up with a chick truck when you learned to drive, or did you go straight for the bike?" he asked. He couldn't imagine her driving around a girly sudan or anything, but he supposed that if her dad owned the lot she could have her pick - or at least the option to test drive what's available.

She didn't look back as she walked, but spoke up loud enough to keep up the conversation. "...Eh, they change up stock enough fer me t'not be able t'keep tabs on it too well... it's honestly a crap shoot! Sometimes ya find a real prize, sometimes ya only have crap. Just takes a bit of lookin', ya know?" Eventually her feet stopped at yet another truck. She already had proceeded to get into the back and take a look about as Ricky asked about her own vehicle history. "Um... hmmm... well, I only have a license fer th'bike right now in all honesty. However, I do have a car... I jus' need t'finish repairing it. Had it fer like... what... 5 years now I think?" She unlatched the gate to the back of the truck, seeming to analyze the way it seemed hard to open. She moved it up and down a few times, testing its ability. "...don't have a truck of any sort. When I finish fixing it up it will be a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT... sports car from '06." She pushed the gate back up into place, and after a bit of struggle got it to latch in as it should. "It was essentially half a car after the accident the previous owner got it inta... been fun t'work on though!" With a grin, she opened up the door and climbed in like with the first truck.

"I bet, I ain't so great with car repairs or nothin', it's pretty cool that you are," Ricky said, suggesting a compliment. "Do repairs normally take that long, or jus' takin' your time with it cause its your baby or something?" He was pretty sure that most car repairs didn't five years, but maybe with a busy schedule and just as a side hobby it may take a bit. He hopped into the passenger seat of the truck next to Ellie and looked around - it looked like a solid truck, but there were things she could notice that he probably wouldn't see. "So what's the deal with this truck?"

"I don't have all th'right tools at home," she stated in a matter-of-fact tone. "Plus when I started, I was only just learnin' about how t'repair this sorta stuff. It was like the ultimate learning tool if ya ask me!" Where as he went inside the vehicle, the girl went around to the back of the vehicle. "...hmmm... no truck gate... but if ya got somethin' t'restrain whatever yer puttin' back 'ere... it ain't a big deal..." She circled around from the back towards the driver's seat, still giving it an inspection of sorts. Aside from the gate, there was nothing really outwardly wrong. Swinging the driver's door open, she commented "Unless there's somethin' majorly wrong with th'engine... I think this one is a good find. Just missin' th'gate fer the truck... but that's easy enough t'work 'round."

Ricky inspected the car some. He liked the truck quite a bit - but wasn't quite sure what he would do for the truck gate. Apparently it was something that was fixable, so he wasn't too worried, he trusted Ellie's judgment. "I think this one is good then," he smiled. He looked at the yellow sticker - it wasn't too high, but he wasn't sure if he would have enough. Then again, he didn't exactly want to admit that. Maybe he'll just have to haggle it lower with her father when that comes time. "Do I like, talk to yer daddy now or somethin'?" he asked.

One brow fell slightly at his terminology. "Stop callin' my ol' man 'daddy'... it's creepy!" With a minor, yet visible shudder, she shook it off before straightening up. "Ya can call'im 'Ed'... not hard t'remember an' all!" She took a look over the vehicle, the price, then glanced to the area they were standing. "I think I'll make this part easy fer ya... let's go t'the office... I'll talk wit' my dad... then once I'm done, you talk and I leave. Sound easy enough?" Whether or not Ricky really seemed to agree, the tomboy was already walking to the office. He had picked his vehicle, now all he had to do was figure out how to pay for it.

LizzyMoo Heading towards a wrap soon? "Sorry, my bad," he apologized. He was about to agree with her next suggestion, but before he could even open his big mouth, she had already started marching off to go back inside. "Erm, okay then! I reckon I'll see ya out here in a few?" He started to follow her inside, but ultimately just leaned against a wall outside. He wasn't quite sure he was welcome to go in, but he figured that maybe if he stayed outside and let Ellie do the initial talking and come in when she tells him to. Affording the truck would be doable, but maybe difficult. As seasons were changing, people had less interest in his landscaping business, so perhaps he would need to find a new venture for those months...But what is a boy like Ricky to do? All this waiting and thinking was giving him a headache.

Poor Ricky was given so much time to think merely because Ellie was trying to make certain that her dad wasn't going to royally screw him. In all honesty, she had already started to haggle in his behalf and made her dad draw out the paperwork. By the time she exited the building, she had already insured that a sweet 1K was removed from the price on the sticker. Of course, following along behind her was a man as tall as the tomboy with a matching head of hair. He was more on the lanky side and had a goatee. And of course, a smile as friendly (or sinister, depending on how familiar one was with the industry) as any used car salesman before him. He somewhat pushed himself up front and reached out a hand to shake with Ricky's. "Hi, Ed Spectre! I hear from my daughter that you found the truck of your dreams, right?" The tomboy somewhat snorted out "...I didn't say it that way, don't put words in my mouth..." With a shake of her head, she passed by Ricky's side and stopped for a moment. "...I got him t'knock off 1K from yer truck... if he tries t'get ya t'pay more than that... tell him you'll wait fer me to bother him about it..." With that out in the open, the girl felt it was time for her to get moving. She began to walk away, but before she was out of speaking distance, she called out "Don't make me have t'kick yer a** when ya get home, old man!" With his daughter out of the picture, Ed picked up right where he needed to. "So, Ricky, was it? Walk with me, talk with me... let's get ya back to my office!" With a firm pat on the shoulder, the man began to walk back to the building, opening the door for Ricky to enter first. This would be interesting, that much was certain.

Ricky nodded to Ellie as she headed out. "Thank ya!" he called after her, making a note in his tiny little headspace to send out a thank you note - more likely a thank you text - to her later, once all is sorted out, if he doesn't see her. Luckily, her dad seemed friendly based on his pleasant smile, and Ricky knew for 100% certain fact that people who smile never want to rip you off or have anything but your best intentions in mind. That was basic science. With that in mind, he felt much at ease as he crossed through the threshold into Ed Spectre's office, ready to meet certain financial doom.
