Jerarda chuckeled at Phenyo's rather over the top acting about how the wind tribe would be reacting to their presence, despite it being comical it did lift her spirits.

Her fingers moved deftly through the others hair, despite the dreads she seemed able to make them look sleeker and she took out any little bits of brush that she could spot in the poor lighting. Hearing her friend answer though trail off she felt a pang of guilt. Phenyo was always there for her...and Jera hadn't exactly been the best friend she had been boasting about.

Sighing she stopped playing with Phen's hair and then leaned her head against her back in a dramatic fashion. There was a long silent pause, as if Jera was having a hard time figuring the right words to use.

"I...look..Phenny...I'm...sorry...I know I am ..not exactly the easiest person to get along with." Okay that was a good start. A bit late....but better than never.

Oh...oh...well, there was no hiding the little goosebumps that blossomed out over Phen's back, starting where Jera's head touched her skin and spreading up over her shoulder. She gritted her teeth, lightly biting the inside of her cheek to refrain from outright shivering.

Jerarda...Jera...what have you done to me? she lamented in her head, feeling her fingers tense around the bracelet. Exhaling a sigh she hadn't realized she'd been holding, Phenyo glanced back at her best friend.

"No. You're not," was Phen's response, but she grinned nonetheless. "You are the most infuriating person in our tribe."

She reached her hand back around her own shoulder, fingers patting the back of Jera's head. "And if you ever run off like that without me again, you'd better pray to the Great Mother I never find you." The patting became a bit rough...but there was a light-heartedness and teasing nature to Phen's words.

Jerarda didn't notice the goosebumps or if she did she dismissed it for the cool night air. Feeling her friends fingers on her scalp she sighed liking the feel of it. It reminded her of home, how they grew up together, and how Phen always tended to her and her wounds.

"I miss home...." Came her first comment before she gave a small laugh and nodded her head, rocking it against Phenyo's back.

"I will make sure to tremble in fear and heed your word of warning.." Jera stated as she lightly bit Phenyo's shoulder as the batting became a little more than just a gentle manner.

"One day I hope that I will be a great leader, and I will always have you by my side. Okay?" Jera stated as she laughed and wrapped her arms around her friends body, though it did tend to squish Phenyo's boobs.

There wasn't much for Phenyo to comment on about missing home; she was rather enjoying these new worlds and this grand adventure. Besides, Jerarda was there and that was all she really needed to feel 'at home'. It wasn't a place, but rather a feeling...and when it came to Jera, Phen had feelings to spare.

For example: the feelings encountered after that nibble from her Sister. Where the hell did that bite come from? It made sparks flash in front of Phen's eyes, causing her to twitch suddenly and then give a nervous laugh. That...thatthat....that was too much. That was pushing into dangerous territory. There needed to be more of that...

LESS! LESS! There needed to be less of that...oh, dear, Phen was in so much trouble. With her skin tingling, she glanced back at Jera and tried her damnedest to play off the butterflies in her stomach. Phen elbowed her in the side, snorting and shifting in the other Alkidike's grip.

"Okay, Great Leader. By the way, can you stop squishing my chest? I know you're jealous, but we've been over this. You're not going to press them into submission with your manly arms."

Oooooh, she called her a man...rather, manly, but this author is assuming in a world of warrior women, you do not call them men. And of course Phenyo wouldn't have said that to anyone other than Jera.

Jerarda gave an outright burst of laughter at her comment about her 'manly arms', and yes they had been over this before, Jerarda always had to point out about Phenyo's chest size, every since they were young she would always come from behind and squeeze her.

For good measure she gave a first squeeze on one of them before releasing her and then leaning back on the rock they were on. She felt a lot better than she had for the longest time and perhaps a bit ...on the naughty side she wanted to pounce on Phenyo and wrestle like they use to when they were kids.

Gathering her feet up from underneath her she grinned and then did as she always did, acted before thinking things through. Pouncing Phenyo she wrapped her arms around her and growled like a radaku as she wrestled with her best friend.

"Really, Jera?" she jeered as her boob was squished, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. Not that she should be surprised, and she really wasn't...Phen was just glad that hiding her feelings behind their usual jabs was easier than she anticipated.

There was a moment, however, when Jerarda was entirely too quiet. Silence was never a good thing when her Sister was around, and right now...it was downright dangerous.

"Jerarda?" Phen said, slowly shifting her eyes to the side as she turned her head...only to watch as the other Alkidike launched herself forward, grappling with Phenyo.

"JERA!" she snapped, but she was laughing, trying to wiggle her way out of that impossible grasp. "Jerahaha...stop! The boulder...edge!" They'd fall off for sure.

Jera only laughed at Phenyo's almost predictable concern about falling off the edge. After all leave it to Phenny to worry about something rather than just have fun. Giving a light growl she continued to wrestle with her best friend until it was literally dangerous to be living on the edge. A few rocks jostled from their movement fell and finally Jera subsided.

Grinning like a mad woman who had entirely TOO much fun with this she scooted closer to Phen and then picked her in the ribs. "You know you have fun when we wrestle...don't lie." She chuckeled before leaning backwards.

She was glad that things had gotten better, after all she hated to fight with Phen even if it wasn't her fault.

Ohmyohmyohmy...nonono... were the only thoughts running around in Phen's head as she rolled and wrestled with her Sister. The Alkidike even yelped sharply at one point when the pebbles were jostled loose from under her shoulder. Intermittently in their game, there were scolding words and warning comments...and when it was all over, Phenyo sat up quickly from the edge, gasping softly until she was poked, which just drew another squeal out of her.

Yes, even more so than you'll ever understand, Phen responded, hiding behind a dangerous grin, giving Jera a strong punch into the arm.

"Yeah yeah...hush," was what she actually said out loud, dusting the dirt from her arms and as much of her back as she could.

Settling back against the rock, Phenyo looked out over the land...quiet for a moment, she became pondering and thoughtful.

"I wonder how long we're going to stay out here..."

Jera looked up to the night sky, pondering on Phenyo's words. The moon seemed even bigger out here with the lack of trees it made the entire sky feel like it would go on forever.

"We'll we could stay out under the stars until the sun comes up! " Jerarda teased as she knew her sister meant how long they would be away from home traveling and exploring. At least that is what she thought she meant. Giving a snort of a laugh she went to undo her top knot and readjust it.

"Seriously, I don't even think the elders have any idea how long we will stay here. They seem to be driven on moving forward and discovering new lands. I am not exactly sure why our people feel the need to discover... Isn't it our duty to protect Jahaur? And the great mother Ashia? I don't see what there is to gain by wandering around like this." Wow intelligent conversation from Jera? She must be getting tired.

There was only a roll of her eyes about staying out all night; Phen knew better than to feed into that one. However, as Jera started turning introspective, she realized it was time to start heading back...last thing Phenyo needed was her Sister passing out on the trail. Those situations never ended well.

Letting Jerarda's world muddle in her head for a moment, Phen thought of the best way to explain...what she thought was the rationalization behind all of this.

"That's the whole purpose for being out here, though. How can we protect the Great Mother if we only know what's at our borders? They needed to make sure there was nothing else that could come threaten our home." Sure, that sounded about right. Of course, she had no idea if that was true, but hey! Maybe it would at least make Jera feel better about what had turned into a somewhat lack-luster trip.

"I agree with you that perhaps we're overstaying our welcome. We've seen what else there is here, and so far the people have been civil. I'd dare say they've been down-right friendly."

Standing up, Phen grabbed her bow and quiver, slinging them both around her shoulders before offering a hand to Jera, "I suppose we'll see what the Elders decide, right? Come on, let's head back to camp before anyone starts to worry about what trouble you might be starting."

Jerarda continued to lay on the ground looking up at the sky, not quite registering that Phenyo had decided it was time that they head back to the others. She noted that her best friend shouldered her bow and quiver and then sat up slowly and reluctantly.

She knew it was their purpose...to protect the great mother tree Aisha. And perhaps in the old days there were more threats to her to the land. As she saw it now..the biggest threats were....each other. Every tribe was...paranoid about the other. There was no peace...when people didn't trust one another.

Giving a sound of revelation she went to stand and gave her best friend a huge hug. "You know what? I think...its time someone tried to unite the tribes. The biggest threat to our mother now...a days is the fact no one trusts any of the other tribes. I think its time we tried to change the views of our people...and convince the other tribes of forming peace."

She gulped harder than she meant to as Jera pulled her into this tight hug; feeling very confused and unsure, she gently patted her friend's shoulder before easing back from the embrace.

Must...not...linger...

"Unite the tribes? Jera, do you remember what it was like at the start of this journey? How hostile that situation was? I can't even begin to speak for the Earthlings, but our sisters...and some of our Elders...would never stand for it," Phenyo explained, shaking her head and placing a heavy hand on Jera's shoulder.

"It's a good idea - and I won't disagree, it would certainly make the world a safer place for everyone - but it's improbable that any of them could call a complete and lasting truce."

Weither or not the woman noticed her friends rather..stiff response to the hug it seemed to roll off of her like water on a beasts tough hide. Still she held her friend in that embrace for a long while before finally pulling slightly away. Looking into her best friends gaze, her antenna lightly brushing up against Phenyo's she sighed and nodded her head before she pulled away completely.

"I know, but there must be a way to unite the tribes...and I think a strong leader is the key. And perhaps...a good mediator..?" Jera offered the title to Phen with a smile and a hand gesturing towards her. "I believe that a good leader is all the tribes need. I am not saying that one should rule over another...but our people has been so locked away in our customs...our rules ...that peace will never be achieved unless someone can think out side the box. " Jera even went as far to trace a box in the air before her with her fingers to prove her point before she jutted her thumb at her chest.

"And I think I can do it. No one is better at thinking outside the box than me. I mean I came up with an entirely different method of fighting!"
