Rakai fell back on what was most natural to him in his moment of cluelessness, remaining, calm, suave and in control. He had no idea what to do when it came to birthing. He'd never even witnessed the event. Well, there's always a first time for everything.
He smiled a sweet, charming smile at Sharsa's words. He could easily read the light sarcasm, but didn't care. "I have the right to worry, do I not, darling?" He replied silkily, his tone hinted with the same sort of cheery, lovey sarcasm.
Entering the trees the invisible grove seemed to materialize. It was filled with long lush wild grasses and a stunning array of flowers. But Rakai had other things on his mind more important and urgent than taking in nature's beauty right now.

Sharsa looked around the whole area was positively nauseatingly cheerful and happy. “Well I suppose you do have to worry about me smashing your maw sideways if the pain gets to bad and you happen to be in striking distance.” Charming, cute, she might have to hit him just because. Oh well it could wait the pains were so close now that it was a constant annoyance. Feeling her body tense with the pain she knew it was time. Focusing on breathing she looked for a good spot where she wouldn’t feel to exposed getting the spawn out of her body. Finding a spot she could tolerate she stood and grimiced knowing this was going to hurt. Glaring back at Rakkai she figured a quick use for him that would keep him from bothering her. “Rakkai….. turn… guard.. now.” It all came out as a growl due to the pain that she was feeling. Oddly enough a small part of her wanted him to understand it was due to the pain she was in and not hatred of him. Strange. The spawn birthing must be affecting her wits more than she thought.

A light chuckle escaped him at Sharsa's words, but his keen instinct told him that whatever was to happen was going to happen like now. Still smiling in a soft, charming way a glint of concern, and maybe a bit of curiosity, passed though his eyes. But he had the courtesy to be a gentleman and elegantly turn and stand in a noble, protective, stance. The wheels in his mind turning wildly trying to compute and arrange all the things he was feeling and thinking at the same time. It had been many many years since he had let anything other than what he had calculated show. In spite of it all he was still able to remain in general control.
His ears twitched slightly every time he heard Sharsa cried or moaned behind him. It took a great deal of willpower to remain in his diligent guard stance.

Sometime later Sharsa found herself looking down at four little foals. They were so small she supposed she should feel some love or something for them, but there was nothing. They were simply mouths to feed and more trouble to be had. Leaning down she nuzzled a white one that looked a lot like her. Ah well perhaps they would be of use latter when they could grasp concepts and begin to do things. Smiling she stared at them considering her possibilities. Looking up at Rakai her mind was a whirl. “Rakai, I can’t take care of them all right now but I will find a place. When that happens I will be taking some of them with me. She nuzzled one of the others that was moving. “Now my little one don’t or you’ll wiggle off and I won’t bother chasing you down….. mmm… they need names…” Great another thing to have to do. She nudged the wriggling one. “Me’urra” Looking at another she nudged it. “Azza” Looking up at Rakai she stared blankly at him. “Care to help since they are clearly yours too.”

Rakai remained the vigilant guard until long after he was sure it was okay for him to turn around. As his keen green eyes caught sight of the four little foals a sort of fondness rippled gently through him. Maybe not the full blow love that might be expected of a parent but definitely a stronger feeling than their mother. He swished his long, flowing tail and looked at each in turn, seeing something more in them than Sharsa did. He saw the bright, innocent glow of those untainted by the dark things of the world, like humans, violence, and pain. A slight genuine smile crept onto his lips. But it swiftly vanished as he was snapped out of his reverie by Sharsa's calling of his name. He blinked, shifted his gaze and now charming smile to the birth mother. He swallowed back the foreign urge to blurt out that he would happily care for them. Instead, without missing a beat he tossed his head and replied smoothly. "Sounds fair. Wouldn't be gentlemanly to walk away and leave you with all of them." He stepped closer and lay down on the other side of the foals, forming a sort of barrier to prevent them from wandering too much. Looking back down at them as Sharsa began naming their offspring. After being offered to name the remaining two he nudged one that looked stunningly similar to himself. "Tatsu and.." He lifted his nose to touch the remaining one softly. "Ákos." He then continued to watch them as the wriggled about.

I--LiveWire--I Tis ok. there was that big old event and all.
Well it wasn’t exactly gentlemanly to just up and leave her ready to foal. Still Sharsa didn’t mention that. Instead she just nodded and accepted it. Rakai he sounded happy. It was strange. A part of Sharsa wondered why he sounded so pleased. Did he see plans for her children that she did not? Perhaps it would be a mistake to leave them with Rakai even for a moment. No. She would only burden herself and fail horribly if she tried to take them all now. Watching him lay down she listened as he came up with names for the other two. The names were fine after all Sharsa at least knew what to call the others now, and perhaps Rakai might be more inclined to keep the foals close and safe from harm if he had a say in their care. If one or two died it wouldn’t be a huge loss, but she’d like at least one to survive. She especially liked how Azza and Akos looked. Those boys clearly had more of her then their father in them, but Tatsu… that one she would only ever be reminded of Rakai by. Her tail twitching she wondered how quick her son’s intellect would be. She wanted them loyal to her right off the start so she could make use of them sooner and have less to fear from them later if they grew in power or in station. “My little ones; I know you’ll all grow up to be strong how could you not?” She cast a tired smile at Rakai surprised how accepting he seemed of all of this. Here he had only just found out she was carrying foals and he seemed ready to play the part of a father. Either he was foolish and rarely showed it or he was more dangerous than she gave him credit for. She couldn’t let him keep all the foals she needed to find a spot soon to raise them. Of course that would mean she needed to rest for now.
(will make a post color for him later. Oh and he is seeing Rakai but doesn’t know what groud, other Azrein or a father is.)  Snuffing Me’urra smelled his mother and his siblings. What he was on was hard but gave way when he pushed on it. Blinking he turned his head and saw a mass. It was another thing but not his mother. Wriggling over he snuffed it and looked up at it.
