Essa was worried about the Ghosts attack boosts. Since the ghost was getting out its paralysis, it was even more worrying.

Mephistopheles phased out of the rocks and away from the magikarp. Electricity crackled along his arm as he phased back in, culminating in a blast at the fish pokemon.

Nerissa was jolted back to the other side of the pond, although its pace as she swam around seemed to gotten quicker for a bit. Essa was very worried about the amount of damage that took off

Mephistopheles got the feeling this battle would last far longer than he was prepared to spend fighting. He bowed deeply before the magikarp. "You fought bravely. I shall be conceding to avoid an ill outcome. Good day."
Darkness descended over the field, lifting to reveal Mephistopheles at Lenore's side. The two waved shortly to their opponents before leaving.

And once again the ghost decided to end the battle on its own terms, another hollow victory. She will have to be wary next time she faced it to try and beat it before it could use that move
