“What I’m… looking for?” She turned her head to look back at the boy questioningly, but by then he was gone. Did he mean the exit? She huffed a single note of a chuckle. Very spooky indeed. As she walked past the parted hedge she ran her fingers along the sides, half expecting the tendrils to coil around her fingers or retreat further into the foliage.
The maze opened back up into the familiar corridors, but she walked them with a little more caution. Clearly there were more than turns and dead ends to be found here. As hard as she tried to casually dismiss the boy’s words, she couldn’t help but to peer a little deeper into the shadows beneath the hedges and tilt her head to the mists above. Was she looking for something?

At the dead end Wasa turned on her heel, confident that a new option was open behind her. Her understanding of the seeming randomness of the maze did not prevent her from feeling a little unsettled despite the wistful smile fixed on her face. Without a pattern, without some logic to it all, it was possible that someone could be lost in the maze forever. Of course Doctor Kyou wouldn’t let that happen, but if one wanted to keep a soul occupied indefinitely, this would be a proper solution.

Well, if the maze was not the constant, Wasa could be. She turned left at the next split, resisting the urge to even look to the right. If she was meant to find something down that path, the maze would steer her that way in time.

Everything is topsy turvy now that you've hit this enchantment! Although initially invisible, the effects of this magical spell certainly are not - the sky is now the floor and the floor is now the ceiling and you're walking on it! This is enough to make anyone dizzy, but don't worry, it should wear off soon enough.

Wasa dropped her hands down (up?) to her fluttering skirts, trying to keep them drifting into her face. As soon as she had one petal tucked down, another fell free. She kept gathering them under her knees until she was wound up as tight as a rose bud. Well… this was disconcerting. She looked up (down?) to the sky, marveling at the enchantments at work. This would be an ingenious way to take care of all hedge litter that must gather in a place like this. Just turn the whole maze upside down and shake a few times.
She twisted gauze into a spiraled knot close to her hip, freeing her up to move a little less awkwardly along her path. She made it three steps before realizing her new dilemma. So… if up was now down and down now up, what did that mean for her clever left-ist strategy? Was left now right? Her left was still her left, but was the plan to go maze left? Was maze left like stage left? She never understood how that worked no matter how many times it was explained to her.

As she reached the dead end she sighed a little hum of relief. Well, she wouldn’t have to worry about the whole Wasa-left Maze-left issue just yet, but of course now she felt a little silly for being happy about a dead end. She turned back towards the sculpture garden, feeling quite confident it would not be there anymore.

Sure enough, the hedges that once parted to reveal a gallery of topiaries were knit shut. Two options lay before her and the question began to loom once more. Left –left or left right? She tilted her umbrella to shade her face from the sun below as she thought. If the whole point of her plan was to be the constant in an ever changing world, then upside down or inside out it shouldn’t matter. Her left was the left which was the left she would take. Satisfied with her logic, she took a turn and continued on.

Another fork, another turn. She smiled as she imagined herself walking in an angular spiral. What an awkward snail shell that would make. Maybe there were creatures as varied and improbable as the maze dwelling under the tiles beneath her feet. Snails with little penrose shells or butterflies that spun cocoons to transform into plump little caterpillars.

If one doesn't look closely, they wouldn't had seen the little square recess in the wall right along the path Wasa was on. It was so well hidden, with loose vines dangling in front and partially covered by small branches. Little snails seemed to be scattered around the immediate area as well, slowly ascending the hedge wall, some resting inside the recess.
Inside this recess sat a peculiar wooden chest. The chest looks like a small treasure chest, about 12 inches wide and 5 inches deep, with a hole for a key in front. The key however, was no where to be found. But if the medium-weight box was lifted, one would find a nearly folded piece of paper underneath. The words "Seek the creator for the key" were neatly written on it.

The artisan sank down until her eyes were level with the hidden alcove. She brushed the vines to the side with her fingertips, tucking them behind the corner of a loosened brick like a curtain on a hook. A box? She gingerly grasped the shell of a snail and plucked it from the lid. She kept the little creature aloft as she eased the chest from its shelf, returning it to the moist brick once she had the box balanced on her knee. And a note? She unfolded crisply creased paper and glanced over the script. The creator… She held the box above her head, searching for some sort of insignia or inscription without jostling the contents too much. If there was no clear origin to the box, perhaps the note referred to some other designer. The master of the maze, perhaps?
She worked the paper under a bit of the metal banding of the chest, keeping the pair snuggly together. Something to speak to the doctor about, she supposed. If he wasn’t behind all the mysteries of the labyrinth, he’d surely know where to point her. Or maybe there was someone yet to meet in these corridors…
Tucking the box beneath her arm, she dropped the vines back into place and continued along her path.

Out of nowhere falls a plastic skeleton while a nearby speaker cleverly disguised as a rock plays out a medley of badly recorded moans and groans complete with static.

The box jumped a few inches from her fingers as Wasa’s body jolted at the budget surprise. She fumbled briefly, overcompensating by wrapping both arms tightly around the box and nearly dropping her umbrella. Once she was sure she had both secure her eyes raised slowly to meet the dangling replica. She chuckled weakly as the crackling speaker struggled to finish its sound byte. It was so basic, so cliché, so completely unexpected in a mystical maze like this that it caught her completely off guard. “Very… clever.”
She stepped around the skeleton, half expecting to see cotton cob webs and plastic spiders dotting the hedges ahead. The creator certainly put in a dash of everything.

You've come across a table with three glass goblets filled with a strange liquid, one pink, one orange and the last purple. Beyond this table is what seems to be the exit out of this area. Do you take your chances with the glasses or do you try and leave the area via the way provided?

Refreshments! How thoughtful. Wasa approached the table and examined each glass. The pink one was probably strawberry lemonade, the orange... Mimosa maybe? The purple one had her stumped all together. Checking over each shoulder to be sure no one would catch her acting odd she leaned over each goblet and sniffed. She couldn't take for granted that a beautiful liquid would taste as appealing. For example, she loved the color green but despised the taste of licorice. What if the purple was chilled squid ink?
