"I can fix the staff. I know the basics of Alchemy and then some." I said, taking her staff peices and slipping them into a couple of sword sheeths on my back. I grabbed Scarlet's hand and pulled her to her feet, quickly picking her up bridal style.

"Now let's go. I can also heal your ankle. Lucky I got herbs right?" I said, trying to change the subject as to why I didn't tell her I left. We're not married, but she's still my best friend and we care a lot for each other. We tell each other everything and I guess I kind of made her feel bad.

Even with her in my arms, I was still fast, because I focused my aura in my legs. I jumped on the side of a building and then kicked off of it, landing on the rooftop of another. I quickly scouted around, and I saw the small bunch of trees directly beside the walls of the North gate of the town. I remember this place now, but still not the name.

"All, right, I have a tent a some supplies over by those trees." I said, taking another look back at the market.

The people had put the fire out and were now looking around for us. I simpley bega jumping rooftop to rooftop until I reached the bunch of trees. hopefully no one saw us, I thought bitterly.

I set her down in the tent and walks outside. "I'm going to scout a little and get my hidden supplies. I won't go moe than 20 feet from the camp. I promise" I smiled at her and walks away.

I come back a minute later with a few provisions. "I'm sorry. I know you can't see, it's just force of habit I guess." I open the tent drape and my jaw drops slightly at how beautiful she is without her armor. I quickly snap out fo my trance and sit down, putting some provisions around one side of the tent. "I'm not exactly hungry, I'm actually really tired." I said, and it's weird. I guessed that the blast of fire back at the market had really took it's toll on me

I pulled out a pillow and lay down on my side, facing Scarlet. My muscles relax and I sigh in relief. "Oh, tell me what you want to eat."

Now I feel REALLY bad. I totally ignored her ankle and her staff. "Oh man, Scarlet, I'm sorry! I totally forgot about your ankle and your staff." I said, positioning mself down by her feet.

"Can you extend your leg and set your heel in my lap? I am going to heal your ankle. I'll deal with your staff tomarrow because this is going to exhaust me even more."

I can't believe I'm being so forgetful. I've never been like this. As my best friend, and really my friend, I should remember to do everything for her because she's blind. I sighed, at least I remembered. And she also curled up into a ball... I'll have to ask her if she's cold after I'm done healing.

"No, I'll fix it. I still owe you." I said, smiling at her. I look at her ankle, and immediately the scars catch my eyes...

"Raven... what... what are those scars from?" I asked her, afraid of the answer. She didn't tell me, I didn't know! She always tells me everything! Oh man, this must be really bad if she didn't tell me. I put my hands on either side of her ankle and my green aura travel down my arm and start to glow around her ankle and foot.

I look back up at her, letting her know I am still waiting for an answer.

I decided not to push it because it seemed like an extremely touchy subject. I finished healing her ankle and slumped forward slighlty. "Ok, sorry, I'll just drop it." I crawl over beside her and lay down on my side, facing her.

"I saw you curl up in a ball a few minutes ago, are you cold?" I ask, tilting my head slightly.

As much as I want to be mad at her for not telling me, when she curled up beside me and put her head on my chest, any feelings like that were gone. I was happy she put a barrier up because it helps a lot.

I sling an arm over her waist with a smile. I pull her closer and put my head down, my chin resting above her head. "Good-night Scarlet. Sweet dreams." I look down for a moment to kiss her forehead, then back up.

I smiled as I felt her emotions. Being an empath does has it's ups. She was probably blushing right now, but I'm not complaining because she's burying her head in my chest. I looked outside and it was pitch blacks. Hm, weird. Shouldn't be that dark... Ah, whatever.
