The warm hand on his earned a surprised look from Oliver, the man shaking his head in embarrassed reply. He wasn't sure how to make of that, sure he had been complimented before yet this older male had a way with his words that made the brunette feel both humbled and really feel that he was doing something right. "I-- did nothing but be a decent person. It is you that needs to be praised that way, Zave." he answered sincerely, letting the man take the metal canteen from his grasp and take a sip of the water. He, too, grimacing as Zavier did as if he felt the cold steel touch on the ache of his forehead.
"Just press it there till it feels a little numb, alright?" he kept his hands to himself this time despite the overwhelming urge to fuss over the blonde's injury. He placed his hand on his neck, slipping under his collared shirt and habitually rubbing his freckled shoulder as he watched the male in brief silence. For that moment he was quite content with himself, at least the wound would be nursed more properly than before.
The following words of Zavier made Oliver wave his hands rather over-dramatically. "Zave, why would you feel bad about that? It's my choice to stay with you here till you feel much better," he insisted but smiled in disbelief that the other would say such a thing! It was he who caused the accident--though a happy accident right now in a big way--- and it was courtesy and genuine care that he wanted to help his new friend. "Now, please relax and tell me till you tire of me, then I shall let you go." he joked lightly, settling his hands back on top his old brown trousers. He stole another glance at the two resting deer, the light and deep earthen creatures catching an afternoon rest.
Ziha had sensed what was going on with his surroundings and with eyes still closed he let out a little huff, pressing himself even more against the female on him. "But of course you may have some important business to attend to! At least a meeting with you for another day is something to look forward to for Ziha and I."

"Ah," Zave chuckled under his breath, "but being a decent person isn't a requirement of life." Holding the canteen more firmly against the steadily numbing but still aching spot on his head, he rolling his shoulders in a relaxed shrug. "I take each small blessing with gratitude, Oliver." And he could have been content to let the silence stretch, to simply bask in the minutes that yawned onwards in that unsuspecting hour, but he knew they both had many things to do that day; he, to finish balancing his ledger, and Oliver to continue hitting his burgundy bird in the proper direction.
Casting his pale eyes around the area, he uttered a soft sigh as he removed the blessedly cold canteen. Already he could feel the warmth of the day pressing over the cool sheen that valiantly protected his reddening wound. "Were I to wait until I tired of you, we'd get nowhere awfully fast. I do, however, have many errands I've yet to attend -- alas, it is the duty of the menial job." Zave smiled in an almost apologetic manner, handing the canteen back to Oliver. "But you have my gratitude and my word to meet another day -- whenever is best for you. I imagine your schedule is more demanding than mine."
Era, sensing it was time to go, carefully lifted her head and blinked her eyes blearily at her Chosen as though annoyed he picked the moment she had begun to doze off as the time to depart. Extracting herself from the lighter colored male, she pressed her dark nose to his neck in silent gratitude and farewell, stretching out her legs as she trotted over to her Chosen and the bird-beater.
Extending one hand, he put it on Era's neck, starting to help himself up. "And we will look forward to seeing you again, Oliver King, to perhaps impart a luncheon invitation or to risk a cricket lesson." Zavier smiled with enough warmth that his dimples were glaringly obvious. "I look forward to it."

"You give me far too much credit," He smiled, nodding his head understandingly at the other in response. "Of course, of course. Pretty long day ahead of you, eh?"Oliver took back the canteen from Zave's hands, placing it to the side as he slowly stood up to bid Zavier a goodbye.
As with his Chosen, Ziha started to look at the blonde boy attentively and of course turning back his gentle green eyes back at the doe as she pressed her nose to his neck. Already he did quite miss the comfortable weight settled on him but he rose from his position as well, lidding his eyes as he walked up to the deeper-coloured guardian to brush against in farewell.
Oliver bent over to Zave as he used Era as a support for himself, offering his own arm as well to his new friend if he needed it. His light brown eyes brightened at the mention of the next meeting, filled with amusement at the latter part. "I promise I wont let it hit you again." the sportsman laughed, bowing his head down slightly and giving Zave a little playful salute. "See you again, Zave. You be careful, you hear?" He said in final goodbye, feeling much more relaxed than he was that morning, and he knew Ziha felt the same way.
With that Ziha moved beside his chosen, looking up to the other human and back to Era, bowing his head more politely than his own Chosen. Oliver put a hand on the light fur of Ziha's neck, rubbing it affectionately. "Time to get back to work, hm?" And he took the deep red bird out of his pocket, fired up once more for a full day of practice.
