Enitan considered Keilana's input on the matter of the alkidike mentality. Most of what the shifter knew about the strange race of people were from mostly third-hand accounts, or told from an acquaintance of someone who heard about it... and in this single night he had his own first-hand encounter. The shifters may know more about the alkidikes than the leaf tribe, being in closer proximity through their living arrangements, but they still kept their distance. Enitan couldn't throw out the idea, despite being told otherwise, because he didn't have the experience himself; it would have been better from the mouth of an actual alkidike. "It's... very possible they're just that territorial with everyone, yes," he conceded. Question now was... would he be more relieved or more apprehensive if he discovered this to be true? On the one hand, half the tribe would be less of a focus for the hostilities... but on the other, everyone would be in more immediate danger in the face of an enraged tribe of the strong women.

Of course, it didn't seem to occur to him that any tribe could be just as potentially dangerous. Just because Jerarda was stronger, quicker, and more vicious than he was didn't mean that, say, another shifter could be. It was merely because he had been wounded, mentally and physically, so recently from a member of a tribe he knew almost nothing concrete about.

He glanced behind them as he continued to move forward, making sure they weren't being followed. At least, being followed in the open. Of course, the chatter probably wasn't helping to conceal their position, but in such a case, it was likely any pursuer would have gotten sloppy, thinking they wouldn't be heard over the noise. In the short pause between query and response, Enitan heard nothing of footsteps aside from his own, and hadn't any of the other pauses either. Had Jerarda actually given up the chase? Or was that just what she wanted him to think? She didn't seem to be the type to drop the hunt, considering she was having so much 'fun'... This wouldn't have been seen as a failure on her part, to get the bag she seemed to have her eye on? Peering down, he noted through his numbed senses that the satchel was still at his side, so he hadn't accidentally lost it during the scrape and just didn't notice...

However, this current situation was embarrassing for both him and apparently the injured leaf tribe girl as well. It was probably safe enough; even if they were being followed, the amount of effort the alkidike would have had to apply to be so silent in pursuit would have caused her to lag far enough behind. If she was still following, he'd have every justification to use his knife in defense if the two of them were to fall behind as well, at least now. His steps slowed as he neared a tree with low enough branches for a more inexperienced climber to try, "This is probably good for now, come to think of it. Think you can climb, or..?" He nearly winced, thinking he probably shouldn't have asked. If she was embarrassed now, there was a high probability it would bleed into stubbornness, and she could hurt herself further. Frowning, he added, "...Seriously."

Discussing the alkidikes probably didn't help with their jumpiness. Keilana couldn't help but try and search the darkness with little success. Every sound caused her to flinch, she wouldn't say she was frightened she just hated to be caught off guard. Yes that was it. She wasn't scared ...

There was a sound something that caused her to jump in the man's arms and give a little squeak. It was amazing that she didn't end up wrapping her arms around his neck and clutching to him. And she was grateful that she didn't cling to him. Showing that she was nervous was bad enough.

"Ah...climbing?" She tried to push on, hoping that the male didn't notice her reaction to the noise...whatever it had been. Looking up she sighed, she couldn't exactly see herself up in any tree. Feet firmly on the ground thanks. Or...at least...carried by someone who's feet were on the ground.

"Do..we really need to climb it? I am not exactly agile in the branches like your people."
