That seemed to confuse Shun by a fair amount. It seemed to be a strange thing for someone to believe in him for.
"Your father might have been a little too idealistic. It's still a criminal organization no matter how you look at it," he said, "I might not be Kaitou, but you should know well enough that my own moral compass is not quite there."
"I might not consort with the hunters, but that isn't to say I wouldn't do other things that the general public might not approve of."
He shook his head again.
"What do you feel about all of this?"

"Someone's always going to get hurt, huh?" She sighed, sounding almost wistful; it was easy to see where Lizzy got her personality from, because she might had believed in Shun as much as her father did, even if she had no idea what he could do, "I'm not sure. I don't approve of what your family does, but it's not like I dislike you as a person. Sure, you're not... The easiest person to get along with, you don't smile or laugh at what is funny to everyone else, but I've never thought that you were a bad person."
She patted him on his head, "You have more than one family now anyway... If you need help in anything. Although you should also try to win your other family over, even if you're not... Very... Charismatic..." Her expression turned sheepish as she withdrew her hand, "Uh, work at it?"

Shun just sort of gave her a bit of a flat expression as she patted him on the head. He didn't think he was ever going to understand why she did that. He still also found it a little strange she didn't consider him as a bad person. But then again, apparently neither did Xiu or Mitsu. It was another thing that eluded him.
"I plan on it. Eventually. The others should be easier to appeal to," he murmured. Kaitou was pretty much out of the question here.
"But you feel that way, even if it may mean more things like this could happen in the future? But that aside.. what do you plan to do now that you know this was your father's fate? If you would like, perhaps I could try digging for more information on my side. The truth might not be something you would want to hear though.. depending."

"Don't do anything that would betray your conscience," She was pretty sure that Shun had some sort of a conscience. Somewhere. Inside. Deep inside. Really deep.
"I'm hoping that you taking over Kaitou would mean less things like this happening... I mean... Do you really have to be a criminal organization forever? Why not... Slowly move away from that, and open a takoyaki shop or something?" She muttered, poiting her fingers, "I don't want you to get into trouble with the law, but it's not only for your sake, you know..." It was for Xiu and Mitsu, as well as everyone else who considered him a friend.
"Uh, what sort of information...?" She asked, tilting her head to a side as she considered his offer, "Well... Maybe... The place he dissipated? So that I can... You know, pay my respects to him..."

There wasn't an immediate reply there. A takoyaki shop? Really? Granted, some did run that sort of thing on the side, but that wasn't very plausible for a real shift in focus.
"Some things just don't simply change. A takoyaki shop wouldn't be nearly as profitable," he stated. He might not care all that much about money personally, but the same couldn't be said for the Family, "Not to mention that could weaken us, making the Family a prime target for old and new enemies alike."
Shun shrugged lightly, then nodded to her request.
"I'll see if I can dig that up. Hopefully unearthing this will be easier than finding more details of my Mother."
It probably would be. Unless Kaitou had some strange reason to want to keep that a secret.

"How about a bank? Without... Giving out illegal loans... And... Other illegal things..." She trailed off, pausing to pout; this was harder than she expected. Then again, it's not as if she really understood what type of activities the yakuza typically engaged in, apart from just 'illegal activities', "I'm sure you'll figure something out! Besides, it's not as if I'm expecting the business to change overnight... It would probably take a while. A long while." Optimism at its best, "But doing the right thing isn't always easy."
She stared down at the notebook; her father was a prime example. She had to wonder how long it took for him to pick conscience over his family members, and how tough it was to make that decision. Sliding her fingers between the pages to pull out the photo, she held it towards Shun, offering him a sheepish smile, "You take this... It might help? Plus... I think father would have liked you to have it."
She probably looked surprised when he mentioned his mother, but then again, it wasn't something that Shun often talked about or brought up, "Ah... Have you been trying to locate her?" She hoped that it didn't involve treason of some kind, or banishment, or Shun having to go on a journey to regain his honor.

Little did Lizzy know, even with illegal loans, there was violence involved. Namely when people didn't pay up. Shun didn't mention this, though. He just sort of shrugged, then slowly took the picture as she gave it to him.
"I was such a weak child then," he murmured, staring at himself, then shaking his head.
"I did a long time ago. I attempted to find what I can of her, but there wasn't much I could find. The pendant Mitsu wears now once belonged to her. It's more or less the only thing I have."

"How would you define weak?" Lizzy asked, genuinely curious as she looked up from the photo, "Ah, I see... Why would Kaitou hide your mother though?" Unless there was some secret behind her disappearance, the same way why her mother never told her the whole truth about her father.

"Unable to fend for myself. Unable to do much of anything correctly. Barely any confidence. And most of all, I guess you could say I was soft," Shun said. Shaking his head to himself, he thought on that other question for a moment or so.
"According to him, she was a weak woman who isn't worth knowing."

"... You were just defining a scareling... I don't think there's anything weak about a scareling being a scareling," She frowned, pausing at Kaitou's description of Shun's mother, "Well, since he said it, it must not be the truth."

"Perhaps."
Shun just shrugged at what Lizzy said really. At the other comment, he nodded slowly.
"Yes.. but that did not keep him from saying anything else on the matter. So I barely know anything of her. I don't even have any pictures."

"Who knows? You might find out more one day," She nodded, although she wasn't sure if Shun wanted to know more or not, so she added as an afterthought, "If you want to, I mean."

"I don't know if it'd be worth chasing ghosts right now," Shun murmured.
He didn't know the irony of that statement.

"I thought I would be chasing ghosts, but I found out a little more about my father, so..." Lizzy offered him a small smile, "It's probably harder for you to find things out, but whether it's worth it or not, is really up to you."

"We'll see about it. I never really knew her anyway," Shun shrugged before pausing for the moment. He looked to Lizzy, thinking for a moment or so.
"What made you want to seek out your father anyway?"
