Classic french mussels, steak, and red wine had been decided on, or rather it had been for Michael. Alexandre got a different drink of course, but that wasn't anything to fuss about. Michael wasn't one to fuss over people's decisions... he just used said decisions to judge them. Actually, Michael was almost surprised at himself and his ability to resist judging Alexandre on petty things such as the way he was so prim and proper and clearly thought others below him.

If Michael judged him for that, he would just be a hypocrite... not that he cared if he was one or not. It was the irony of it.

Dinner went rather well, or at least in Michael's opinion. It wasn't like he was nervous or anything, like many of his first time dates were. It probably helped that most of his dates ended up being one time, only. Or maybe it was because Michael was confident in himself that any awkwardness from his date's side was just... brushed away. It wasn't like Alexandre was the worst person to go out with. He'd been out with countless others, and Alexandre could at least stay on par with Michael's attitude and sense of humor.

After ordering dessert (which included coffee for Michael), and handing off the paid bill, all that was left was the drive home.

"You're not going to invite me in, are you?" Michael asked off handedly as he leaned his elbow against the inside of the driver's side window ledge, a hand sunk into his own short mahogany hair. He'd pulled into the place he'd parked when he had picked Alexandre up earlier that evening, waiting to see what his date would do, and fully planning on judging him on his actions.

Some of his more timid dates would have laughed nervously and quickly gotten out of the car, some would have played coy, but invited him in in the end. There were others who went with it and had him come in, only to nervously flit around until he showed himself out to save them the embarrassment, and there were still others who had fully planned on inviting him in long before the night was over.

He was just curious in what action Alexandre would take. It said a lot about his personality, after all.

The meal was good, what he'd expected and than some actually. He'd even made his opinion on the meal known, twice (once with the steak and once with the mussles), which was something of a rare thing for him to do. While he was sure most would say he should have had wine he also knew he couldn't, and anyone saying he should have would have been clueless of his age, but water had sufficed for the evening (he didn't drink soda). As for the other people around them...well one couple had gained his attention part way through the meal, and promptly found themselves glared and sneered at by him on several occasions. It wasn't that they appeared low class, far from it, but they were loud and the female obviously had poor, and tacky, taste in clothing and accessories.

After the initial nerves, and babbling, Alexandre had settled into things and enjoyed himself. Talking, and keeping from babbling as he had earlier in the evening, he'd tried to keep himself as friendly seeming as possible despite that particular couple three tables away - who thought large pearl earrings circled in gold done in a rope design was attractive?

Dessert had occupied him enough he didn't even notice them leave. Not a person who normally ate sweets, it really wasn't his thing, he'd indulged in that and an espresso that was sipped slowly as he savored it - as it was meant to be! He clearly had a thing for espresso. maybe something of a habit.

Sometime later he stood on the sidewalk looking at the other and felt something of a smirk curling his lips. Blond hair tied back, bangs free, he tilted his head to the side and met the others blue eyes, really they were an amazing shade of blue, and took his time in answer - as if he really needed to think of an answer. He already knew his answer, but he wasn't about to jump to answer like some desperate girl, he was neither of those things. Comfortable after an evening out, his nerves having melted away at some unknown point, he had left the car and turned to face the other rather than run for the door or slowly make his way to it.

"Hmm, I don't know...should I? I do believe I should...the evening was quite enjoyable after all." He said finally that smirk turning into a smile, more than he gave most people, though he did straighten his head from it's tilted position. "I'd hope though you don't expect too much, I am not easy." He stated, making sure the other didn't come into his place expecting something he had no chance in receiving. Alexandre was blunt and forward if nothing else, not to mention he simply didn't care to deal with such a situation. But he didn't want Michael thinking he was easy, because he most certainly was not, and he didn't want anything illegal happening and someone (especially Michael himself) finding out how young he really was. And it had nothing to do with his mother being a lawyer either.

Michael grinned in amusement as Alexandre invited him in but with the warning of not to expect much. Ah, well, they'd see about that. People usually found that Michael was quite irresistible once they were alone together. Granted, those relationships never lasted long afterwards, but who knew what might happen.

Alexandre was intelligent and intriguing, so maybe this thing might last longer than one date.

"I never expected you to be," he said with a grin, getting out of his car and following the younger man towards the house at which he'd collected him from earlier that evening. After such an enjoyable dinner, it was only right for them to have an enjoyable evening.

Not that Michael knew what to expect with this one. Alexandre's thoughts were always too veiled for him to see directly through, making him less predictable than others. He would admit that he wasn't sure if he'd invite him in or not, but now that he had, well... that was just a few more points in his book.

"Alright... I guess you can tell me more about your plants now," he joked, clicking the button on his car key to lock the vehicle and make his way towards the front door, Alexandre in the lead.
