"Why would I not trust you?" The strix hooted with another giggle. He generally was trusting as a rule until someone demonstrated to him that they weren't worth the faith he placed in them. He wasn't totally oblivious to her slightly teasing tone though.
"What you do with that trust is up to you.." The strix giggled louder now and tucked his face slightly into the crook of her neck. He tickled her with his chin hair before using the opportunity to place a gentle kiss on her skin there since she seemed to be in a better mood finally.

She didn't have an answer to that. Really, Needle couldn't think of a single thing she had done or could do to betray his trust...except perhaps to turn him over to those Hunters she kept hearing about. She wouldn't wish that on her enemies though, and thus came up short on her list of how to betray Muka...which was a good thing. That list would always stay empty.
"I will be sure to use it for good." She promised with a little chuckle, one that turned into a soft sigh at his tickling. His growing beard provided endless entertainment and fascination for her; she liked the way it felt, the way it managed to be soft and rough at the same time. The kiss was as well-received, the ghoul shivering pleasantly in his arms at the feel; it made her stomach knot, it felt...very nice. Unable to return the favour, Needle resigned herself to leaning against him, smiling away.
"Would you allow me to tattoo you tonight?" She asked hopefully; his embrace was welcome, his kisses were tingling and pleasant...but her mind was on one thing tonight, it seemed.

After the kiss he merely rested his face there, breathing in her scent and making pleased, thrumming bird noises. He did enjoy this. The more he was able to partake of Needle and the physical comforts, the more the emotional ones seemed to come. The strix didn't like to think too deeply about it but it meant quite a bit to him that anyone was willing to be this close with him without being scared or uneasy.
He lifted his head when she asked and he looked at his hands again in thought. Was a tattoo something you needed preparation for? He didn't know. If it was as easy as just doing it, then he had no argument.
"If you'd like. I have no prior commitments." He didn't do much anyway but his day with Needle, he'd already decided, would be dedicated to spending time with just her. He'd not found any company more pleasing than this particular ghoul's.

The thrumming noises were as tickling as his growing beard had been; she didn't squirm, but she did bite back a couple giggles of her own. It wasn't that she was afraid to laugh about it, she was just afraid he'd stop if she did. They hadn't been together long, but she found more and more that she liked the way he touched her, even the simple touch of his arms around her. She had missed him - and the contact - when he left for Dragonfell; she just hadn't realized it until she heard his voice again.
"I would like to, but it is entirely up to you. It will take the majority of the night, after all..." This was his body after all, and his hands that would be mostly out of commission for a few days! Her hands slid down, her needles scraping harmlessly off of their clothing and skin as she threaded her fingers through his, peeling them off of her waist. "I need to prepare the ink, if that is the case...perhaps you should remove your jacket and roll up your sleeves?" She hummed thoughtfully, returning his hands and slowly sliding herself out of his grasp.
"I would hate to stain your clothes." Like she almost stained his rug, and his bed. That was the downside to working with ink almost every waking hour; you got a lot of it all over you, and it transferred. And stained.

Muka shook his head a bit, bobbled, and allowed her to tear herself away. He wore quite a few layers on his torso and so he stood to begin peeling them away. Thankfully, though she didn't have much of a closet, most of the dorms had a tiny hook on the back of the door. He slid out of his coat, waistcoat, and eventually unknotted his tie and hung them on the hook one after another. For the sake of comfort he unbuttoned his collar and finally sleeves.
He suddenly became concerned about rolling them and his talons and any stray ink so, to be safe, he ended up simply shedding the garment. Muka quickly had become comfortable in his skin with Needle and so he waited in just his pants and shoes, for her to prepare the ink.

While Muka had gotten himself undressed, Needle had gathered everything she needed. On the low table in the corner she had various tools; a couple bowls, some containers (a couple that smelled of ink and blood), fresh needles, a few clean (though somewhat stained from previous tattooing) pieces of cloth and finally a generous roll of bandages. She was on her knees before the table, murmuring a soft prayer to the ink when she heard the tell-tale sound of clothes being removed.
"...If you needed help, Muka, I would have happily offered." Needle found herself chuckling, but was wise enough to set the ink down before it got any ideas. She beckoned him closer with a soft wave, patting the spot on the next edge of the table, leaving the corner between them. "Make yourself comfortable! Be sure you can comfortably rest your hand here~" She brushed her own over a spot on the table, one that was mostly in front of her.
"When I do this, I will go quiet and I will be unresponsive...I have to, as to not interfere." It was a somewhat practiced speech, though much less formal than she would have given to anyone else. "I need the ink to read you, not me. All you have to do is meditate; any focus of your thoughts and the ink will move to express it as best as it can." Needle was excited, but she was already doing her best to reign it all in, this time on purpose rather than reflex. She didn't want her eagerness to tattoo him affecting the marks in any way, after all!
"Any last words, before I start?" She allowed the slight tease to enter her voice; but it would be the last one, she promised herself as she waited for him to get comfortable and say what he had to, if he had anything at all.

Muka simply shook his head. He had no input on the process. She'd been clear about the pain and the focus that was involved. if anything he was concerned that his mind and concentration may wander and he, in some way, would mess up the tattoo.
The strix sat crosslegged in front of the table and set his hand down where she indicated. He knew about meditation and had in fact tried it on the Isle of War. The strix attempted to duplicate the process and closed his eyes, mouth still set in a small smile.

Thankfully, she was close enough to see the shake of his head.
"Very well! Here we go~" She took a soft breath, falling silent before sitting straight. Her fingers brushed along his, feeling her work space to get another feel for him, and to also give a moment for her advice to sink into him.
When she was ready she picked up her needles and got to work, his grey hand becoming bathed in ink and blood the more she worked. She worked at an even pace, being careful to add an even amount of ink to every press of the needles. The ghoul was quiet as she promised she would be, moving as though in a trance. She worked on each of his fingers and up to the back of his hand, the designs ending naturally at his wrist.
When she reached a natural stopping point she did, using the same cloth she had since she started to brush away the rest of the excess ink. Her needles had been set down and her hands moved, carefully applying a soothing salve to the newly made, ink-embedded wounds.
"What do you think?" She asked quietly once she was finished with his first hand, wiping her hands off on a new towel before picking up some bandages. She wanted him to see the design before she wrapped it up, after all! There was a very good chance it would be repeated on the other hand. "Would you like a break?" Hands were painful to tattoo, she knew that first hand.

Muka hadn't known what to expect from the pain. The needles on his skin, so close to his bones, sent jolts down his hand and it was all he could do not to pull away. The strix made no noise, but his eyes did shoot open and he stared intently at the hand. Time passed in silence, the pain ebbing and then returning in waves and as time went on and more of his flesh was broken his keen senses became more and more assaulted with the taste of blood on the air and his own tense body.
His gentlemanly mental exercises slipped away and his wild instincts took control. He didn't act like a beast but his heart fluttered, accelerating, and his eyes stared with agitation. Occasionally his teeth would clack as a jolt of pain shot through him but that was it for any sound he made. All he could think of blood and hunting. The invasive smell of ink and his animalistic instincts brought to mind Needle herself and their nights together.
By the time she finished and pulled away he had enough of his senses to grin again, despite the pain. He didn't feel comfortable moving his hand and so he simply stared at it.
"I like it very much!" Muka giggled at the lovely twisting design, several savage angles combined with soft curves and talon like points that went down his fingers. He clacked his teeth again. "Ahh.. hmm could I have a drink of water?" While he could still hold a glass with one hand.

Needle hadn't noticed the way his teeth clacked, or the subtle changes in the thumming from his heart. All she could feel was the haze of the ink and her own limbs as she moved; all that would have been able to stop her was his voice. When she was finished, she found herself smiling at his comments, his giggle as always reassuring. She had never been one to be nervous about what others thought of her work, but with Muka she felt as though she needed his approval; he had to like it, for her to like it too.
That had never happened to her before.
"Of course! Ah, excuse me." She set her rag down, leaning away from the table and soon getting to her feet. She disappeared through one of the pocket doors in her room, returning moments later with a mostly clean (there were her inky fingerprints on the outside) glass of water. It was offered to him, and she knelt once more when he accepted it. "How are you feeling? We can leave the other hand for another day, if you would prefer." She offer-slash-reminded him, settling down to bandage his hand.

Muka may have become adept at lips as far as kissing was concerned, but when it came to drinking and eating he was still very much a bird. With his intact hand, he tossed the water back between his fierce teeth and down his throat with loud gulps.
As soon as it was gone he made a satisfied hissing sound. "Thank you." It took less than a thought for him to set the cup down, flex his free hand and then nod.
"Let's just do both, hmm? Get it finished." He then giggled. "I'd hate not to match!"

Needle found herself smiling at the sounds of his gulping down the water. It was almost funny that he drank like that, when all evidence pointed to a pretty good grasp on using lips. Maybe one day she'd help him drink normally, but until then she would just be amused and enjoy what animalistic sounds he made.
"You are welcome~" The cup was set aside, out of her way to avoid accidentally picking it up later. She finished with the bandages on his newly tattooed hand, leaning down to press a careful kiss against the protective cloth. Truth be told she never kissed a tattoo before, but she was compelled, quite unable to help it. She gathered up the needles, cleaned them off and stood, moving to the other end of the table; that way, he could turn to put his free hand on the wood, and not have to turn his back to her.
"Ready for round two?" She inquired softly, once more working to reign in her own feelings and expressions.

"Mm hmm.." He thrummed in agreement. The strix was ready now, more ready than with the last hand. He knew what to expect now. He was surprised to learn that other than stinging slightly, the tattoo she'd just done didn't hurt noticeably anymore. It felt slightly sore and he knew there was blood but it was much better once it was over.
His hand rested on the table for her. He was ready. He would assuredly revert to the same state this time around, but he was much more prepared for it now.

And with that, she got back to work. She repeated the process from last time, being careful to make the ink evenly distributed. The ink seemed to understand Muka's need got matching symmetry, and thus the design was repeated as close to perfect as her skills allowed. The second tattoo took just as long as the first, and when she was finished she went through the same care she had shown previously. Excess ink was wiped off with a gentle hand, a salve was applied to the tatoo, from the back of his hand to the tips of his fingers, and she set to bandaging him again.
"How are you feeling now?" She inquired as she started wrapping his fingers. Now that she was off tattoo duty, she could smell the blood in the air, feel the ink on her fingers and remember the way his skin resisted the needle point at first. Ahh...there was nothing like it, nothing. She gave a breathy sigh of content as she bandaged his hand, feeling a happy tingle run through her body at the after effects of the tattooing trance.
Like last time, she pulled his hand up, pressing a soft kiss to the fresh bandages. She rested her cheek against the back of his hand next, giving it a feather-light nuzzle. "Thank you for letting me tattoo you~"

Muka handled the second hand similarly and by the time she was done he was able to relax once more. Each hand stung but the salve felt better and the bandages helped quite a bit. He grinned as she nuzzled him. "They sting but it's not very uncomfortable." There was a faint giggle. "I'm more concerned about forgetting and messing them up."
He slid away from the low table since he was now free to move, and slid closer to the Engraver. "Thank you for the tattoos. I am not at your mercy as I have no way to feed or clothe myself." It was actually an entertaining prospect, though he was not against just shoving his face into things he wanted to eat or drink. It would definitely be more fun to have Needle helping him.
