While some might have been having a good time with all this snow, Eris most certainly was not. Snow plus fire equaled water, and while water was fascinating and all, it generally meant bad things for her, because it meant her most powerful means of attack, not to mention her healing ability, was quenched VERY quickly. As in, completely. And she really did not like feeling helpless.
So when she was dumped, quite unceremoniously, into the snow, the Protector spent a good few minutes just sitting there, (as well as a horse could sit,) the flames of her mane and tail melting a little island for her.
"This place is almost as wretched as that god-forsaken island," the horsewoman sulked to herself, watching as Robert frolicked merrily. Or at least, up until the point where he decided he was too cold. "You really are ridiculous," she added after a moment, sounding a little sulky. He really was adorable, it was such a shame he was a hunter and that, ultimately, she would have to kill him. Or perhaps, if they recovered the shards and returned to their own forms, she could somehow halt his retransformation and keep him as a pet. This cheered her up considerably -- she found it a pleasing thought, running her fingers through his fur, watching him dance around and act all tough for her amusement. The next logical thought, of course, was then what he was like as a hunter. Was he just as adorable? He could not be very threatening, she was quite sure of that.
Perhaps she would keep him, even if she couldn't keep him as a pup. Invictus would indulge her, she was certain, especially if she promised to feed him and take care of him and make sure he behaved.
Torn from her reverie by the sound of her name, the Protector glanced over to where the other War-horseman was, his attention on another pretty minipet not too far off. "We're here, Senga," she replied upon hearing her name, tilting her nose up in a little greeting. He seemed to have found another friend, and she left him to it -- now that they were not chasing the shard, (which was most unfortunate,) they were in no rush to hurry much of anywhere, "Find us when you're not otherwise occupied~"

Oh good, there was Shaheen. The Protector relaxed considerably after locating the two, feeling content that they were nearby. She wasn't a protector for nothing -- there was certainly a feeling of innate protectiveness for her former clan, if not for horsemen in general. She would have been exceptionally distressed if she had lost them, especially with what had happened to their people at the spire. She had failed once, she would not fail again.
But for now, Eris was nearly completely relaxed as she watched the mayhem, tucking her tail closer as the pool of water she created via flaming tail and mane crept closer, scowling a little at it, as if this would scare the water into avoiding her. Naturally, it did not, which caused her to leap up quite unexpectedly, dancing away from it in a very equine way before seating herself in a different location to begin the process all over again, creating another island for herself a little closer to Robert. It was during this point that she realized the hunter had dug himself a little hole, and was now nothing more than a little tail poking out of the snow. Which, while cute, was equal parts confusing to her.
"What do you think you are doing?" she asked, mildly curious, her nose tilted down at the hole right up until the point he sneezed, sending snow flying. Because at that point she leaped up, prancing a short distance away before circling around again, "You did that on purpose."
Naturally, she had no idea that his friends were calling to him. She knew him only by a small collection of nicknames she had given him.

His head followed the scarefly as it zipped towards him slowly and then changed course just as suddenly towards an - was that an alpaca? - acquaintance of some sort. His mouth opened despite his every other intention to act like a human stuck in this god-forsaken form, tongue lolling out before he realized what he was doing and quickly snapped his maw shut. His tail started wagging instead though and - well - Senga sighed. It was becoming a vicious cycle. What if he was really turning into a minipet, body and Fear core and all.
Looking back where the strange thing had flown, Senga's tail paused. He supposed he ought to follow through with his inquiry now that it - he? - had landed. "I hope you are warm now." He yipped, observing the odd pair for a long moment before there was shouting, and yelling, and - oh, his name was Robert? - that puppy dog zipping through the snow like he was in holly jolly ******** wonderland. It was not Wonderland here. "Humans are so loud," He muttered to himself, ears wiggling before standing straight up at the familiar voice of --
"Eris!"
Relief made him perk up like an exuberant puppy. He popped up onto all fours and loped over to her - thankfully it was not at all far from where the lotus like inari that he'd hailed was, in case she wished to talk to him too. "Are you - " He looked at the melting snow all around the fire horse, "safe from drowning here?" His tail wagged as the warm brush of air around Eris's flames greeted his skin - fur? "Oh, you are very warm." He said contently, tail wagging.
And then Shaheen exploded out of a wrapped box too.
"Shaheen, hello." He said, greeting the Vaisel with a relieved woof. When she was close enough, he bumped his tail against her gently, conveying pleasure that she had come through unharmed without any words. "It is - very cold here." His words were punctuated by a sudden shiver, and Senga tried to fold himself under the fluffy pelt on his back for more warmth. Of course, that didn't meant he didn't see Robert digging a hole into the sand, or the fact that others - where they hunters too? - seemed to be honing in on him like he was a living beacon. Sighing, the wolf pushed himself up and trotted over to the hole, staring down at Robert with a flat expression. It was difficult for him to sit still; there were so many things going on. "Fluffy, what are you doing, everyone can still see you, and you are going to freeze and then you will be useless - "
Only to get hit in the face with snow when the damned wolf sneezed.
There was also a hamster yelling. It had an eyepatch too. "Curious." The wolf mumbled, shaking off the snow and then he shut up. This was more talking than he'd ever done in an entire week, let alone a few hours. But then, this was a peculiar situation. And he wasn't exactly himself at the moment. Senga stared in scrutiny down at his paws.
No, he was definitely not himself.

Petra wasn't really the type to call out for people. Most of the time, she was pretty quiet in general, only speaking as necessary. What she did do, quite frequently in fact, was stalk.
And as a kitty? Oh how she could stalk.
Fumbling the first few times as her paws sank deep into the snow, the intermediate hunter moved with remarkably silence, following after the other minipets who had been calling out for Robert. The first she recognized -- Deryk, if she remembered correctly, and if Gale had identified him correctly. The second, a tiny hamster-thing, she did not recognize, nor she did she recognize the voice of, but assumed to be hunter if she knew of her husband.
Slipping up beside the hamster, the kittenified-Petra stared down at the minipet's predicament, giving her a cool, blank stare, only mild interest permeating the monotonous look.

As soon as he'd realized he'd sneezed on the horsie, Robert's tail started wagging so wildly he knew his ruse was up. He shook himself out of the snow, which likely got everyone around him soaked all over again. When he was done, he was a wet dog, and he smelled like it, too. But he was a happy dog, and it was obvious by the wagging tail and panting tongue. He loved snow, and he loved Christmas, and he soon realized he loved pissing off the pretty horsie. Which of course, meant the unthinkable was about to happen.
Robert leaned in and his long, rough tongue lapped right across Eris' cheek.
This immediately led to him yiping in pain as the heat of her fiery body burnt his tongue, and he stuck his face back in the snow, with his mouth wide open. Steam came out from the hole he was making, and the saddest whimper was muffled within the snow.

Deciding that a) Robert was a tyrant, a menace, and a terrible human being, which b) led to his new predicament of FREEZING HIS FURRY BUTT OFF and c) meant he really needed some warm, fiery horse right about now, Senga growl-shivered and, from beneath his new snow dome courtesy of one very fluffy hunter, began to crawl his way back to the Protector. The only safe place there. padding near to her warm flames, Senga settled down, either ignorant or uncaring of the puddles around her. "Th - " His paws flew up to catch a sneeze, "thank you." He blinked, examining her back when she told him he could ride if he could balance. "Are you sure?" He asked her. The offer was tempting, and maybe he could somehow balance up there or... drape himself across or something, but he didn't want to weight the Protector down at all.
And then Robert licked Eris.
"You - " Senga's ears shot up, watching in morbid horror when the pup stuck his entire face back into the sound. "Do you have any manners at all?" His ears flattened, and he swatted at Robert's tail. The menace smelled, and he was big, and frankly, Senga was beginning to wish he'd been granted a bigger minipet form. "I hope your tongue falls off." He grumbled, tail flicking back and forth in mild aggravation and morbid interest in the state of Robert's now burnt mouth parts.
