Mephistopheles phased out into the ghost world, moving out of the way of the blizzard before phasing back in. His eye glowed, and the tendrils sent even more seashells at the rattata.

Mephistopheles broke free of the ice, and the shadowy tendrils blocked the blizzard from entrapping him again. His eye glowed as the tendrils sent another barrage of seashells after the rattata.

The tendrils beat down that blizzard as well. Mephistopheles' eye glowed as the tendrils picked up more seashells and flung them at Leto.

The blow was too much for Leto, and she fell flat on her face. It seemed for a moment that she would remain there, but she made one more valiant effort to rise, succeeded, shook her fist at the fancy-loincloth-with-a-skull, and fell once more.

Mephistopheles bowed to the rattata before floating back up to Lenore's side. Lenore gave an amused glance at the rattata as they left.
