"Knight" Solaire of Astora, Embryon Captain
"Praise the sun!"

Even as the building seemed to shatter and explode before him, the eccentric knight's pose of solar praise did not waver in the slightest; a few more moments passed before he finally lowered his arms to his side and the metal helm's eye slots lowered to view the impatient-looking girl who had come looking for him. Ah, Ruri Konpeki...she had been shipped to Inaba as well, and no doubt she had plenty of things she was supposed to be doing at the moment as well. Still, he wondered idly if she had noticed just how perfect the sun looked in the sky above them on the way into town...and if so, how she could even think about working at a time like this one! Ah, but he had to remind himself that not everybody was quite so enthusiastic in their acknowledgement of the splendor of the sun that shone upon them. There were those who themselves only moderately acknowledged it in terms of how hot or cold it was, or whether or not it was shining enough to break through the clouds...or simply appreciated it for the days that it was out and the rain and thunder were not. And there were those who saw the sun when the snow melted and were thankful for the end of the cold, those who witnessed the snow reflecting off of the ice for a rather painful, albeit glorious shine in the arctic. There were rainbows born from the sunlight shimmering off of the...oh, he could go on all day just thinking about it. But he was not one to ignore the cries of others, even when the sun was so adamantly calling out to him as it was right now. So he called back down to the girl, not even remotely bothered by her belligerence, as it was something he had become quite used to at their last posting. Though perhaps it was more accurate to say that if there were any ill intentions towards him on her behalf, he hadn't even noticed them at all...or perhaps, he just didn't care to. It was hard to say when nobody had ever seen the face beneath that mask...

"Ah! Good morning," the sun-loving warriors answered in as casual a greeting as had ever been heard, "I was merely gazing up at the sun, marveling at its magnificent aura. ...The sun is a wondrous body, don't you think? No matter where you walk upon the Earth, if you can see the sky...merely wait until the hour...and you will see it in all its glory, feel its warmth surround you. Thinking about that, I could hardly control myself. ...Would you care to join me in offering praise to her?"

Ruri Konpeki (as Steins Gunner)

"Then I'm sure you'll be just fine with enjoying its radiance in your mind while you're working." Ruri extended her massive weapon, leaving the edge of it just short of the man's helmet. Power gleamed as it collected within the tool, ready to be unleashed at her command. Ruri wasn't the most outright powerful Captain that the Embryon had ever employed, but if she could hit and harm her target, then chances were that she'd quickly begin to wear them down through the incredibly corrosive power that her form possessed. "Or maybe we should just reassign you to prison duty for a few weeks so you won't get to see the sun at all?" The Embryon could totally do that sort of thing, of course. Their prisons weren't exactly known for friendliness and comfort...

"Knight" Solaire of Astora, Embryon Captain
"Praise the sun!"

Had the target of the new Captain's weapon had been an Ensign, or really any lower-rank soldier within the organization...even if it had been another Captain, perhaps...there would have been an instant and distinct rise in tension, panic perhaps, knowing that this girl was perfectly capable of pulling the trigger if they didn't resign themselves to doing as she demanded. Solaire, on the other hand, barely seemed to notice as he turned his gaze back towards the incandescent sun shining brightly in the blue sky above them. His laugh escaped him for a few moments as she threatened him with prison duty, not because he knew she had no authority to command another Captain to do anything, let alone prison duty, but because he was simply that pleased at the moment to be here, standing beneath this glorious light on such a clear day. Who could be in low spirits when the world around them was so unquestionably beautiful? Why, he could even feel within his heart that his own quest, the continuing search for his very own sun, was inching ever-closer to his goal simply being here! Of course, here wasn't where he had been the day before...and remembering that fact reminded him that there was likely much for him to be doing while he was here. Ensigns, Majors, Lieutenants...even the new General and the other Captains...all of them, he hoped to offer his assistance in the spirit of Jolly Cooperation! His arms lowered to his sides again after a beat, shifting his body to face the girl with her light trigger finger with a large smile...hidden beneath the metallic helm upon his head.

"Ah, my friend Konpeki...shall we be off?" the Knight Solaire offered casually, as though he were the one now retrieving her for their initial briefing at the headquarters rather than the other way around, "If you delay any longer, I imagine the General won't be quite so hospitable as we'd hope. Ha ha ha...!" With a jovial chuckle the armored man then made without hesitation towards the door that opened onto the roof of the Headquarter building and began his easy trek towards the stairs that would lead him to the levels below. From all the bustle it was obvious there was something rather important happening in the Inaba Division at the moment, but even then, if you took no time to stop and praise the sun...you might end up taking it for granted! And that would have been a real shame...

Ruri Konpeki (as Steins Gunner)

For just a moment, Ruri looked towards the sun. Not directly at it, of course. Even in Atma form, it wasn't like she could ignore the way of things with total impunity, however much she would have liked to. She could appreciate a nice day, though, and the warmth of the sun on her skin... but she preferred to enjoy things when she was actually free, not when people would yell at her for not getting things done. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'd rather have a nice, moonlit night anyway... the sun blocks out all the interesting parts of the sky." Heresy! But as she swung her weapon towards her back, it vanished, followed by the rest of Steins Gunner as Ruri reverted to her human form. She quietly put her hands in front of her waist and, as a flush crept up her face, meekly followed Solaire down into the building.

"Praise the sun!"

The jovial way the man walked and the gently hum beneath his helm would have lead one to believe the only words out of Ruri's entire response that he had heard were 'the' and 'sun'...and with the Knight Solaire, it was always fairly likely that was precisely the case. Not that he didn't listen to people when they spoke, but he had a way of letting things wash over him that was almost uncanny at times...and at any rate, it wasn't as if he had missed the way that the girl looked at the sun for a moment with mild appreciation before her depreciating comment. Some people just found it hard to be honest about things...he wouldn't hold it against them. Knowing that she could appreciate the sun at all was enough for him, and really, it wasn't as though the sun itself ever asked for the praise that they offered it. It made no conditions for the warmth and light that it gave the people of the Earth, asked for no acknowledgment, it simply went about its business in making life bright and wonderful for all of the people below it. Why, if there was life on Mars, or even Venus (if it were even possible for life to survive there), the sun would continue to offer its gifts to them as well. Without any request or compensation! Truly, the sun was magnificent...and just thinking the words, the iron-plated man made his way smoothly down the stairs into the main hall of the Headquarters once more, the girl who had fetched him following behind him as expected.

"Ah, would that I could be so grossly incandescent..." the man opined with a deep sigh, repeating a thought that had often plagued him. It made those who knew him wonder...was it that he sought his own sun, or that he wished to become the sun, himself? Not necessarily the whole 'gaseous cloud of heat and light' part, but in that he might be a symbol of light and justice and fellowship to all of those around him. Perhaps that was what he sought...or perhaps he might literally wish to become a heavenly body by some strange Miracle. Anything was really on the table with the Knight Solaire. It was part of what made him interesting...or frustrating, depending on the personality of the Ruri who had the misfortune of dealing with him at the time. "Now, what was it that requires my attention? In the spirit of Jolly Cooperation, I will do what I can!"

"So this is where I've been assigned to, huh?" the redhead spoke to herself, wandering around the premises of the base. Her belongings, clothes, as well as her armor and spear had already been shipped to her quarters, but she had no intention of going there just yet. The sun was rather up and about today, and despite it glaring down on her, she didn't feel the intense heat. She took a deep breath and a weak smile formed on her lips. The weather was great today, and she couldn't really complain. She stuck her hand into her pocket and fished for some items, before procuring a photograph of a man in a suit of armor. "So this guy's my unit's captain, huh?" she scanned the photograph in her hand. She couldn't tell much about the man, but from his pose, he seemed like a rather jovial fellow.

She flipped the photograph over and found a note written for her. 'Congratulations on the promotion, Major. You'll be serving under Captain Solaire of the Magic Knight corps. now. As usual, do your best.' She pocketed the photograph and headed towards the training grounds. She wanted to give her new toy a test drive. She pulled up the sleeve covering her right arm and revealed a small, compact crossbow mounted on her wrist. Ammo for it was, thankfully, cheap, so it was a very cost efficient weapon. It was small, easily concealed, and it looked cool as hell, too. She flicked her thumb upward and the blade extended far enough to penetrate, but still retractable to be fired. It was a good weapon, though in all honesty, she just got the idea from some video game.

"Well, it's time to test this baby out." she said, having arrived at the training grounds' firing range. She extended her right arm and looked down at the miniature iron sights built in to the base of the weapon. Aligning the sights with the center of the target, she bent her ring finger, sending the arrow flying through and landing a few meters off the center. "I could get used to this." she said with a smirk.

Ragna "the Bloodedge" Ketsuki
Unit 5 - 2nd Lieutenant

"Stupid damn kids and their ridiculous phones.. Acting like they can't live a few minutes without the 'twixering' or 'instana-raming'. I asked nicely too! F***ing brats." Ragna growled to himself as he stomped down the halls of Embryon HQ. He didn't understand the new technology that came with cellphones except the rumor about the Demon Summoning App. The man had his hands full examining the cellphones of some unhappy teenagers and had to take a break before he started breaking the machines instead of looking through them. For one of the 'Sunbros' Ragna didn't have the sunny personality like his captain, it was rather the opposite. And at the moment the man's attitude was at a nose dive, thanks to their most recent job.

"Hmm, this is an interesting development, I would have never suspected to see my Captain Ruru and Captain of Magical Arts Sol, together on a beautiful sunny day as today inside like you were going to do something in the dark. Do I have to supervise both of you two to make sure that nothing happens between the two of you?" Sinbad had said, arriving from the training area in his casual wear, the sequined and gilded 'Seven-Seas' captain's outfit. It was an agreement from his posting here that he use this outfit as his Embryon-standard outfit. It was there idea to allow him in, so he would stick with only this outfit and nothing less. "But honestly, why am I seeing the man most known for his love of the sun, inside and not outside?" He knew that it was not good to tease his captain, for Ruri's habits when she transformed into her Atma form usually ended with being chewed out atrociously. But he got over the fact that it wasn't really her own fault, but just an alternate 'persona', if you will, that goes along with her rank. And although the gloriously shiny man himself, Kuatsumo Sinbad, was of a lower rank then Ruri, he just can't help but see her as one of his own, just like when he was apart of the 'Seven-Seas'.

"Knight" Solaire of Astora, Embryon Captain
"Praise the sun!"

One thing Solaire had noted during his time as a Captain of the Embryon was that a lot of the underlings didn't have the confidence to approach those of higher rank than themselves; maybe it was a self-preservation thing, shying away from the strong and making sure not to anger those who were in power. Maybe they just weren't the social types, having all come to the service of the Warriors of Purgatory through various traumatic experiences and often having become quite withdrawn as a result of their berserk powers. This wasn't the case for every member of the crew, of course, and most often the members of the units commanded by the man who praised the sun were of a similar jovial disposition to their captain...or at least used to their eccentric leader enough that they didn't seem to have much trouble approaching him, at least, directly. Still, the man in the iron helm could still be surprised occasionally by the casual way that his followers, the 'SunBros' of the new Unit 5 (and his unique back in Iwatodai, previously), could greet him and chat as though he were simply another of the guys. Pleasantly surprised, in fact. He always preferred it if they could be on good terms, perhaps even first-name basis with his fellows in Jolly Cooperation! It gave them more reason to fight, and it gave them a boost in spirits that certainly could help them in times of need.

Havel was another of those whom Solaire had commanded recently during their stint in Iwatodai; Havel's transfer had come before Solaire's, however, which likely explained why he was surprised at having spotted the Captain in the Inaba base in the first place...let alone having spotted him inside of the building instead of out on the roof, gazing upon the incandescent sun. For the Knight, however, he was simply surprised at seeing one of his old subordinates here at the Inaba department for the first time since the transfer a while back had separated them. Though others might have been put off by Havel (whose real name was Sinbad, though Solaire had always been fond of his unit-issued nickname "Havel") and his easy-going nature, his nicknames, etc...the Warrior of Sunlight was as pleased as ever to see a soldier he considered to be an old friend.

"Hello...Major? Or is it Lieutenant now? Have you been promoted since we were last together in Iwatodai?" the laid back captain asked with a smile hidden beneath his mask, seeming to at first totally ignore the question lobbed his way for the sake of a fond greeting, "I'll feel a lot safer in my new commission here In Inaba knowing that you're somewhere nearby to watch my back! Ha ha ha..."

With Sinbad's surprise of seeing his old captain from back in Iwatodai over with, Sinbad took the short time to see how Captain Sol, proud leader of the Sunbro division, and how Sinbad's time there reminded him of how he was when the 'Seven-Seas' were still together. All of the happy times together, all of the Jolly Cooperation! But once he had realized that he was being asked a question, Sinbad then tuned in, responding in his normal laid back attitude. "It is lieutenant now, Captain. 1st Lieutenant in the first Division. It took a while, but I did get that promotion that I wanted. And don't worry, even though I am not in the same division as you are, Captain, I am still apart of the ol' Sunbros!" Sinbad said with a good fist pump and a smirk. He knew that he would probably be reprimanded by Ruru later on, but he was happy to see an old companion that he had not seen in what feels like forever. "So is there anything I could do to help you, Captain?"

Takus stood, watching over the exchange between the Lieutenant and the Captain, both men he had worked with in the past.
He wasn't really trying to remain unnoticed, of course, considering the size of the man, he was hard to miss.
Still, he was never really one to speak first. Should they acknowledge him, he would exchange pleasantries at least, if not, he would simply continue on. He was in between patrols, so he had a little time to himself.
He adjusted his stance and put more of his weight into his broadsword, which he was leaning on. Resting for the moment.

Kurou T. Hand.
"'Lo." a small voice called, as the Embryon spoke among themselves. Anyone turning would notice the figure standing next to them. Kurou waved quietly at the group, his hands not holding a gun for a rare moment. His yellow eyes glanced all around the area, taking in his surroundings.
If they'd call in this many new soldiers... he thought to himself, scanning everyone lightly. Then Inaba must be in greater danger than I thought.
He'd have to be extra careful.....and he'd need to keep his eyes out for things. His fingers already started tapping at his waist, more of a nervous twitch than anything else.
I wonder who are the other acting captains.. he thought again, seeing the sun-obsessed Captain. He was an interesting...if quirky person. He almost zoned out from everyone else as he thought, going through the motions. Hmm..

"Praise the sun!"

"Is that my old friend Tarkus I see? This is turning into a regular reunion! Ha ha ha..." the newly transferred captain seemed to be positively beaming, despite the fact his smile remained hidden beneath his helm it was easy to sense the pleasant aura surrounding him. He had always been like that, jovial and friendly and open to those who were in need of a companion for either conversation or assistance in battle. Those who fought beside him at some point became his companions, even when they moved on to do other things within their organization, and he never forgot the face of one with whom he had engaged in Jolly Cooperation! And truthfully, he loved seeing them all again...a fact he didn't even begin to care to try and hide. Havel was a good companion for defense purposes, and Tarkus could hit as hard as any Major in the Corps. with his eyes closed! They were a formidable team on their own, but fighting alongside the Knight Solaire...ah, the glorious victories they had achieved in their last commission! "I take it you were both transferred from Iwatodai before myself, then? A fortuitous circumstance!" he smiled, hands coming to rest at his sides as he let out a full-on bit of laughter, "To think the day would come when Havel the Rock, the Black Iron Tarkus, the Flowering Desperado, and myself would be reunited...this town must truly be cursed! But whatever dark is come, it will no doubt meet its match in us, won't it?"

He might have continued his luminous speech, but it was about that time another newcomer introduced himself to the group once more. This was another familiar face, one of the three most recent transfers...a Captain from the Iwatodai Branch like himself and Ruri, whose specialism in single-shot assassination and long-range assault tactics was well-known amongst those in the organization's power. And though he might not have stood out in such a colorful crowd as this one, Solaire's appreciation for him as a comrade in Jolly Cooperation! and as another trusted friend was as solid as anyone's. "Ah! And that completes the triumvirate! I suppose we could continue our journey to the General's office...but I'd rather prefer to stay and talk a little longer. Ha ha..."

"It's good to see you again, Captain." Tarkus' deep voice sounded out, as he took away from his resting stance, hoisting his massive sword onto his shoulder and approaching the other two men.
Despite his stoic persona, Tarkus really was genuinely happy to see Captain Solaire again, but still didn't even crack a smile, a smile from Tarkus was an extremely rare thing despite his feelings about the current situation. "It would be an honor to fight along side you again."

An arrow flew through the air and landed at the center of the target. Eiri smirked and loaded another arrow into her crossbow, but decided against spending more time at the firing range. She had gotten used to the weapon's iron sights and firing mechanism, so she was free to do other things now. She set the safety on the weapon before proceeding to exit the training grounds. However, now she didn't have much to do. She figured she could walk around the base, but that wouldn't do much but burn a few calories. She was given a map of her base to study, and the layout seemed, for the most part, similar to her old base's, so there was no need to explore. She'd know where to go. She heard about some mission some of the other Embryon members were given to check people's phones for some demon summoning app. While it didn't seem like much, she wanted to do it just for the sake of having something to do, but until she was ordered to do so, she wouldn't. She sighed with dejection, having nothing to do.

"Well, I could relax at the main building until given something to do." she said to herself. There were seats there after all, most probably comfy ones at that, so why not? She made her way across to the main building, realizing that while the layout was the same as her last base, the distance was not. The barracks and training grounds seemed to be closer to the main building than last, something that she was grateful for. While she didn't mind a good walk now and then, there were some days when the heat was unbearable, and it was almost a chore to walk towards the glorious air conditioning of the barracks. 'At least I don't have to worry about that anymore.' she sighed, shuddering at the thought.

As she reached the main building, she noticed a group of people congregated nearby. Curious, she decided to move a bit closer to see who was there. She wasn't too familiar with most of the people in the group, but she immediately recognized two. First was the captain of her unit, Solaire, and the second was the captain of unit, Ruri Konpeki. Seeing as they were near the main building's entrance, she figured that she should introduce herself to her captain. After all, it was the proper thing to do. She walked towards the group, trying to catch the man's view, but she wasn't sure where his eyes were focused on through the slits in the man's helmet. As she got even closer to them, she stopped and tried to catch the man's attention. "Excuse me, Captain Solaire?"
