Sibelius watched Shaden's movements, a frown upon his face and one brow raised, arms crossed over his chest. Just what was she up to....
"What?!" he glared, obviously frazzled at her comment. "I said after, not at! Maybe with all this nonsense, you want me to undress you with my eyes, not that it's even difficult to do so..." his lips curved into a taunting smirk. "There are no better men," his words were gravelly in some low growl. "Only men, and their ideals. If you prefer dragonbreath, then go undress for him instead." There was a moment where it seemed Sib was contemplating something as he turned his back to her, and then in a whoosh of movement he had whirled upon her, pinning her between his arms, her back to a large slab of stone that was part of the ruins.
His face was close enough to hers that she would be able to feel it panting against her cheek, his eyes serious and staring daggers deep into hers. "Don't ever toss me in the group of men with bad ideals," he growled. "I've given myself to one woman, not twenty. Momentary gratification does not satiate me." He held her gaze for what seemed like forever, before roughly letting go. "Cruor is a good man, but it doesn't make him the only good man. I don't feel like I have to prove myself to anybody. Not anymore." the last words were mumbled. ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★✰

Something in her attitude changed, even as her mind belatedly informed her she may have teased Sibelius too much now. Her eyes turned icy, ears flat and a sharp intake of breath all were reflex reactions to suddenly being pinned between this man and the stone behind her. Trapped. She was trapped. A feeling that Shaden hated just about more then anything she could think of.
Minus her father of course.
She should have been afraid then, not fully trusting Sibelius and always harboring the thought that he could strike her if pushed too far. But all she felt was a hollow anger. Something that burned deep inside. And maybe, just maybe, that same feeling seemed to cut through some invisible wall.
Shaden stared right back at him, never looking away and not once fighting. She didn't say anything, mind finally acknowledging that there was more to this man then first meets the eye. As much as she wanted to ask, though, the Reaper didn't think now was the best of times. "No." She finally murmured, rubbing her hand absently along her arm. "You're not like their kind."
There was an awkward moment of silence before she sighed, shook her head and stepped right up to slip her arm through Sibelius's. "Well, you may not feel like you have anything to prove..." She said airily, "But I'll have you know. You still did just that. I might trust you enough to have you escort lil'ol me home." Not that she was completely ready to call an end to the evening.
"And....if you don't mind my asking a question," Shaden glanced up at the Blackheart, a strange look about her. "....should I trust you?" Probably not the question he might have been expecting, but she was beginning to think Cruor had placed trust in a good man.
"And what is it with you and Cruor?! I swear you two are worse then a couple of Academy boys!" She laughed, elbowing Sibelius in the side.

"Should you trust me?" he parroted the question, one cold eye falling on the woman in front of him as he glanced at her sideways, then laughed softly. "If you want to, do, if you don't, then don't. Should I trust you?" his mouth curved in a fangy grin, making him appear almost wolfish in the setting sun. "Trust doesn't matter to me." he took her chin between his thumb and index finger, tilting her head so he could look her dead in the eyes. Hers were vibrant still, full of life, pain and joys, loneliness and longing, and his were the opposite. Cold and dull like weathered stone, you could practically see the battle scars within them, telling the tale of a gruesome past filled with war.
"To trust is to ask to be betrayed." he murmured, his lips barely inches from hers. He knew from experience that putting one in an uncomfortable or vulnerable position made words, the truth, seep in far deeper. "To believe in, however, is a far better thing. I can believe you're a beautiful woman, and still enjoy that without the risk of pain. Believe in your comrades strengths and intentions, and they will believe in you, and your strength in battle will increase tenfold. Just don't believe blindly." he released her chin, sighing and running a hand through his somewhat sweaty hair. "I believe in Cruor's strength and intentions on the battlefield, so we work well together on missions. It's as simple as that. Doesn't mean we can't violently stab each other after or during with verbatim, of course. I can even rely on him to an extent, as can Ruria, and yet, though she 'trusts' him and probably loves him in her own way, she would never be able to tell him certain truths about her, like her little majin romance. He'd probably hate 'er, or find her disgusting.. 'least that's what she believes, and knowing Cruor's take on Majin...'prolly right."

Every muscle in her body tensed, as if expecting some sort of attack. Her heart doubled and skipped a beat or two as her chin was grasped, eyes trapped staring into those cold eyes. There was history there, in his gaze. This man had been through something terrible. It made Shaden curious, once again, about Sibelius, but she didn't have it in her to pry into his past.
If he wanted to break through her barriers and make her feel vulnerable, he'd definitely succeeded. Fear finally began to slowly seep into her veins. A fear that was rooted somewhere deep down from scars in her own past. She knew betrayal. It was part of why she didn't trust people easily. Though the other half of it was probably something foolish.
Shaden was quiet, Sibelius's words sinking in. She watched him warily, a hand lifting to absently rub where his fingers had gripped her chin. Finally, she spoke again in a soft voice. "I believe.....you are a very interesting man, Sibelius." And, I believe, a good man. She thought to herself. Mention of Majin had her frowning though, and looking slightly uncomfortable. Shaden wasn't sure what she thought of them anymore, though she definitely didn't trust a Witch Eater! They were fallen beings in her mind. But Majin themselves? They still had a choice. A chance at a somewhat normal life.
"I don't know what to believe anymore." She murmured, almost too softly to be heard.

"Majin..." he muttered. "Humans can be just as bad as Witch Eaters, or worse in some instances. Everyone suspects a witch eater, even if they stole a heart to save their life. Nobody looks twice at a human who killed another to save themselves." he gazed down at her, arms stretched behind his head casually, and sighed. "You need... to put something else on, your tits don't really fit in that. I just only now realized Ruria is running around somewhere with just a sarashi and bloomers on. " he snorted somewhat, amused at the thought, but knowing the pink-haired girl wouldn't care too much. "Let's go back to the castle before your tits fall out. Also, I'm curious..why'd someone like you become a reaper, anyways?"

She frowned even more, hearing an eery echo of her own doubts in the words he spoke. Was she wrong to find truth in those words? To doubt her own job? Majin were dangerous. Yet...couldn't the same be said about an unstable human as well? "I fear....my beliefs on the matter are...shifting." Shaden admitted quietly, never having planned on letting anyone know that little tidbit. But for some reason, she felt if there was anyone she could admit that to, it was this man.
And then she found herself busting out in laughter. Men! They all were the same in certain ways. She tilted her head up to gaze at him through her lashes, a slightly more flirtatious sway entering her movements. Why yes, she was toying with him. Again.
"Are you looking again, Sib?" Her ears flicked back slightly, giving the Mononoke a 'cute' look. Like the feline she was, Shaden stepped...closer, letting her breasts brush up against the Blackheart. "Maybe Ruria was right. You are a deviant." Just like she was.
Grin flashing and eyes glittering with dark amusement, she danced away and began moving in the direction of the castle, letting him have a nice view of her backend. His question was met with silence at first. It was a fair question.
"I just....needed somewhere to go." She finally said after a long moment. "Somewhere they wouldn't ask questions and I could easily sever family ties by....disappearing within Poena Privus."

Breasts.
For a moment, that was all that was flashing through the blackheart's mind, and he looked down...oh, he definitely looked, a smug grin spreading across his face. "Of course I'm looking, but judging on your demeanor, you enjoy that I'm looking, don't you?" his eyes reflected a bit of humor and mischief. It was so tempting to just reach up and grab them both and give them a sumptuous squeeze, but he resisted, chewing the inside of his cheek.
He watched her flit away, finally able to breathe out. Damn woman. "Sauntering around like that, you sure are asking for it!" he cried, shaking a fist after her. "Severing ties," he muttered, catching up to her. "Seems Poena Privus lures people like that quite often. I guess we're all just a bunch of ragtag hooligans deep down."
Sibelius stopped suddenly, his expression melting into a scowl. Something approached, something quick through the underbrush. The scent...vaguely familiar, but different. What was it?! Friend, or foe?
"Get down!" he growled towards Shaden, roughly encircling his arms around her and driving her to the ground with the weight of his body. He held a hand cupped over her mouth, momentarily ignoring the position he had landed on her in.
That was when the culprit...culprits, emerged, and Ruria, returned from somewhere with a pile of clothes in her arms, stared down at the scene before her in slight horror, as did her two cranial companions, who smelled annoyingly of strong musk. (Tom foolery they liked to harass Sibeilus with.)
Shaden was on the ground, mouth stifled by Sibelius, who was practically atop her, legs on both sides to pin her down, his other hand gripping her hips.
"....." was all the girl managed, staring in horror at the scene before her.
"Oh, Ru--?" sibs words were cut off as he cringed under the girl's suddenly grim-looking glare.
"You............." she muttered darkly, almost sinisterly. "...................Deviant!" a quick heel to his ribs was enough incentive to send him rolling off Shaden, crying out a protest. "Have you no shame, you miscreant prostitute of a man?!"
"H-hey! It's not what it looked like....HEY, put that stick down!"
Ruria had picked up an abdunantly large and painful looking branch off the ground, approaching Sibelius with malice glistening in her red eyes. "You cannot violate the sanctity of a female body and not face divine retribution. Come, courageously face your dark end!"

Her eyes all but lit up like a feline on the trail of its prey when that smug grin crossed his face. Yep, he was enjoying this, wasn't he? What man wouldn't? The Reaper just gave him a small shrug, that sly smile curling her lips. "If I said 'no', it would be a lie." She lowered her gaze, finding herself staring right at his chest. "Sometimes, it's just nice to know someone appreciates you, even if it's just for your looks." It was said softly, mostly to herself before she had moved away.
Her laugh was lighter, more like the real woman she was. Not the Reaper or even the Mononoke. "And what are you going to do, dear Blackheart? Punish me~?" How long had it been since she actually enjoyed herself like this? Just enjoying the company of a...friend. And the outdoors. The ground beneath her bare feet felt cool and sent tingles up her body. Reminding her that she could be something else. That it was still there.
Shaden giggled. "I guess we really are, aren't we?"
And then she was being dragged down rather roughly, an indignant squeak escaping as her cheeks lit up bright red. Whatever curse she might have uttered was cut off but the air being knocked out of her lungs and a hand covering her mouth. Where he was able to ignore their...position upon the ground, Shaden, unfortunately, could not. It was really hard not to notice how his body pressed hers against the ground. Or the fact it felt....good. Mentally she groaned. She was such a sucker for the cuddling and having a warm body next to you. Or on top of you in this case. She made a sound against his hand, something between a groan and a growl.
Belatedly, she caught a scent. Familiar but...there was something else. Her ears flicked up, turning towards the sounds of whomever had emerged from the underbrush. Oh hey, was that Ruria again? Shaden liked her! Except she did cringe when she heard her voice, scrambling - carefully - to her feet when Sibelius rolled off. Was that clothes the girl was carrying?
She stood awkwardly, one hand rubbing at her other arm. "....Umm," well what the hell was she going to say? It wasn't like the other two were listening at the moment. And Sibelius did care quite a bit about the girl. Shaden groaned, hand smacking against her face. "Afraid he's the innocent one here, darling." She called to Ruria around her hand, cheeks still nicely flushed as her hand slowly slid down to reveal a very apologetic look for Ruria. "It was this feline doing the attempted seduction this time."
An awkward pause. "And what the hell are those floating...things?!" She had just noticed Ruria's 'companions'.

Ruria's accusing gaze left Sibelius, dropping onto Shaden. Immediately, her expression lightened, the disturbingly grim, retributional look fading. "Men are never innocent," she purred, tottering over to the reaper. She extended her armful of clothes, something she had ..well, let's just not worry where they came from, but they were feminine and at least not dirty or icky.
Before she could explain what bitter and biter were, one foul-smelling head (biter) dropped like an inanimate object into Shaden's lap, and what looked to be real eyeballs slowly ejaculated from its sockets, falling out on each side of the head, his mandible clacking open.
"BITER!" ruria shrieked, throwing her fists down at her sides like a child having a tantrum. "Those were MY eyeball chocolates! I was saving them! Nobody gave you permission!"
Sibelius stood, brushing off his indignation and attempted to reclaim whatever pride he had left that day, sending a scowl towards Ruria, before glancing bak towards Shaden. He picked up Biter from her lap by the mandible, and the skull literally screamed as he chucked it into the underbrush. "Foul, bastardly heads..!" he yelled after it, before extending a hand to help Shaden up. "Those...things," he emphasized the word as if it were the most disgusting, derogative thing he could muster. "Are the bane of my existence."
Ruria seemed pleased as she cuddled Bitter, stroking his smooth cranium fondly. "They're miscreants for sure, but they're not as bad once you get to know them. The angry and obnoxious one is Biter, and the manic depressive one is Bitter." She held Bitter forward to introduce him to Shaden, and the skull looked at her placidly, before sighing deeply. "If only I had hands, to squeeze those plump, luscious bre---" Ruria clamped his mandible shut before he could finish his derogatory sentence.

Shaden gave Ruria an innocent look, eying the clothes that were extended towards her. "That is true~" She snickered, pawing through the clothing items. Probably a little small for her size, but close enough that no one - except Sibelius - would probably notice. "Thanks, Ruria!" She added, contemplating excusing herself to change real quick...or just change right there.
Or at least she would have chosen one of those options. Except for the...erm, skull...that dropped in her lap. And...and... "What the <********>?!" Her arms seemed frozen while her gaze was glued on the...ohgod what was it and what the hell was it doing?! She felt a shudder rippled through her at the sight (and smell) of it, tail doubling in size as the fur puffed up. C-Chocolate...?
When the one from her lap was removed, she felt as if her body unfroze and shivered again, ears flattening as it screamed the whole flight through the air. She gripped Sibelius's hand tightly, getting to her feet and eying the underbrush warily. "I'm sensing a trend with you." Shaden muttered up at Sibelius, a hesitant smile gracing her lips. She still kept glancing towards the underbrush, for the moment forgetting there were two of them.
"They're...umm...interesting. How did-" Shaden snapped her mouth shut as the one - Bitter - spoke. Geezus, they could talk! Creepy factor just increased by 20 points! She took an unintentional step closer to Sibelius, letting his body block hers from the stinky skull.
"It can talk." She stated the obvious. "Just what the hell are these things?"

"Abominations," sibelius growled. He didn't mind that Shaden was using him as a human shield...he loathed these things with a passion beyond passions. If it were up to him, he'd crush them into a fine powder and let them blow away on the breeze.
"They were my first attempt at necromancy," ruria replied, shy pride inching into her voice. It quickly became grim and sullen as she finished. "However, they were an utter failure, and now I am trapped with them for all eternity. Necromancy is not my forte."
"You realize how frowned upon that type of magic is in the first place, right?" sibelius grunted, eyeing the clouds rolling in more heavily. He could smell rain somewhere, and soon the light of the sun would all but diminish and it would start to rain there as well.
Biter came hovering back in, various leaves and sticks poking out from his joints and sockets. "You realize how frowned upon your face is!" he mocked, his voice high and irritating, and again screamed when Sibelius cast him a look that said "I will crush you with one strike."
Ruria wrinkled her nose at the weather, then glanced towards the castle in the distance. How she yearned to be able to go there with them, but this one was still a witch. She sighed softly, scooping up the rattling Biter. "I wish I could go back to the castle with both of you." her voice was wistful, eyes soft and far away.
Sib frowned, shaking his head. "I can't help but think you might be better off being a knight. Things haven't been..like usual, lately." he met Shaden's gaze, then looked towards the castle. "It's just a bit more dangerous than usual these days, isn't it."

"I...don't know..." Shaden murmured, peeking around Sibelius. "They have a certain....charm to them." She just didn't want either of them back in her lap! There was no telling what sort of icky things they had all over their craniums! And their stench! She tried not to shiver or wrinkle her nose.
"N-Necromancy?" She whispered, eyes widening in surprise. That was....Ruria seemed too innocent a girl to be dappling in that sort of magic! Although, Shaden had a sinking feeling the girl wasn't....as innocent as her mind tried to make her. There was something about her. The Reaper couldn't place what it was, but it was there. A smell. A feeling. Something that tingled at her senses and made the hairs on the back of her neck want to stand up. She couldn't help but snort at them being deemed a 'failure' though.
"Well, I have to say that I'm rather glad it's not." Shaden ignored what Sibelius said. "And, they don't seem to be quite an utter failure. Just....one of those annoying things that will never go away?" That could be said of a lot of people too.
Once again her ears flattened at the scream as well as Biter's highly irritating voice. She just shot the thing a look. Maybe she could use one as a scratching post....
A distasteful look flashed across her face, making the Reaper frown as she met Sibelius's gaze. Like him, her eyes fell in the direction of the castle. "Yes. It has been." She murmured, a grim look taking place of the distasteful one. Inhaling deeply, she could pick up the faint scent of rain in the distance. It made her tail twitch, cyan eyes turning back to Ruria with a smile. "Maybe we should all think about making our ways back to our cozy homes so we don't get rained upon. And it really was nice meeting you, Ruria! I'd not mind seeing you again sometime."

As sibelius and shaden went one way, Ruria stayed behind, watching them leave, a soft smile curved on her lips as she waved her fingers at them. Her way home was in the opposite direction, quite the ways. When they disappeared, she bit her lower lip, chewing it almost voraciously, a pained look to her eyes, before turning and walking the opposite direction with her two skulls.
Though she didn't know it yet, it would be her last day as a child, for later that very night, she would rouse in a half-slumber from her bed, journey deep into the forest, where she would be met with and confiscated by a very peculiar, heart-hungry sage, not to be seen again for months.
Sibelius walked with Shaden, also unaware of the changes that would take place later in the evening. His hands were bent behind his head, his eyes partially closed as he listened to the rolling thunder in the distance. "I hope it washes the stench of the witch eaters off the castle. Still can't believe the knights were stupid enough not to realize who they had with them, ********> It still angered him, the fact that witch eaters had been able to set food in Poena Privus. "And double-damn those stinky kids, giving me such trouble! hrrmph!"
