Crisiant's ears twitched, then quivered. Healers? While she desperately wanted to have no physical reminders of this day, the thought of others - even just one more - crowding around her made her flesh crawl. Her head shake as her ears pinned back was abrupt and finite, though she nearly knocked herself from her own feet. Her legs splayed a little and she let out a shaky breath. She couldn't stand to have them look at her in pity and wonder what happened, couldn't handle the questions they would ask, even in their silence.
Yes, she was judging them as she irrationally feared they would, her, despite reputations of most healers being kind and pure. Crisiant just couldn't, right now. There was no way she could bear it.
The matter of family was also heaving ground for her and she wasn't sure if she could even stand members of this stallion's family being near her right now, though she had no idea how long the journey would take. She simply assumed they would be a bit farther than whatever healers he knew of.
"I...do not have anywhere."
A wanderer and free spirit by nature, the little Cerynei had no true place to call home. Her mother was long gone to where-ever it was she resided, and her father was off on his own journey after they had parted ways. She had nobody aside from him and what options he offered her. And even then, she could choose to leave him.
But that would leave her truly alone and especially vulnerable. With Atraiu beginning to slowly walk, her eyes widened with a slight roll, flashing the whites of them before she rushed a step or two and fell almost immediately back into a tender-footed walk after splashing in the shallow bed. No, she couldn't leave him any more than she could have wanted to find the skinwalker that had done this to her in the first place.
"I don't--I don't want anyone el-lse around.Not right now."
Safety in numbers, it was a true saying, but she had precious little tolerance for any crowds at the moment. The only one she could handle was him, and it didn't make sense to her, right now. But he hadn't hesitated in offering help, or standing guard against the skinwalker she could only assume had pursued her. It was a gallant - if foolish, for he didn't know what it was - gesture and if only in that, showed she could trust him. The little gestures only added to it, though she couldn't name them right now. So Crisiant followed the knightly thief, though she did have one more faint question.
"Where does your family...how far away?"

Atraiu almost regretted his words as his companion suddenly grew wary. He had thought that, perhaps, having a more trusted group of soquili to protect her might be the next logical step . . . the only problem being she didn't trust them. How could she? They were but strangers, and it seemed being around others was not something she was inclined to do. She had been roughed up, she had been hurt, and Atraiu didn't know the details -- in fact, he didn't know anything about this mare. She was a mystery in banged up shape, so how could he possibly understand what might be best for her? The fact was, he didn't... he'd never found himself in such a position, and for such a self-serving stallion, this was taking him into unexplored waters quickly.
He wasn't some knight. He wasn't some hero. He knew when to do the right thing, but the details were beginning to turn fuzzy. There was no doubt this mare needed aid, but he could only provide so much support.
Well, he wasn't going to turn away just because he didn't know what to do. Keeping her safe was his first priority, and it was possible the danger to her still very real -- who knew what beast might still be hunting her? Shuffling his wings a bit, he gave a small, swish of his tail ad a little shake of his mane. "Quite all right. We don't have to find others unless things become dire, but I suspect we'll be all right." It wasn't a lie, since he couldn't predict the future, but he also knew he was being mighty optimistic. What if her wounds became infected? What if she grew ill? What if, what if, what if...? Too much speculation, no enough certainty, but there was nothing he could do about it. "My herd lives in the mountains, my immediate family closer to the foothills, so it's still a couple days flight, and probably closer to at least a weeks walk, depending which route we travel." He hoped that would assure her that they weren't in any danger of strangers enveloping them, fussing over them, or generally bothering them anytime soon.
Atraiu was aloof in nature, at least compared to his silver-tongued father and gregarious grandmother. "Again, though, we can simply hoof it until you figure out where you'd like to be. I'm in no rush or hurry to go anywhere." Treasure hunting could wait.

The doe-like mare could only breathe a bit of a hollow, shaky sigh as Atraiu admitted it would be a few days on foot to reach any of his family, and the territory in which they resided in. She didn't want to be ungrateful, and she certainly didn't want to be a bur--
"I don't want to be a burden, so, if you find yourself with a destination or other activity in mind, uhm, it's okay."
Her fluffy tail twitched a bit and quivered as she looked around, quickly. Almost anywhere other than at Atraiu, himself. Truly, she didn't wish to be in the way or dead-weight if he had better things to do. The fact he seemed to be aloof wasn't bad in this case, but it did make her a bit skittish all the same. Folks generally had their own agendas and even though he certainly seemed quite accommodating, Crisiant didn't want to press it, or him.
And she especially didn't want him to be hurt, even if he seemed the sort that was ready to defend, judging by his other actions since she'd fallen into the area with him. She could feel her legs shake and threaten to buckle with each step, but, she grunted softly to herself and forced herself to remain on her feet.Uta It's awful and short, I'm sorry. ;o;
