Spinel broke free of the ice in time to get assaulted by a pile of painful puns. Thankfully, he didn't mind puns much, and as she shook the last of the ice off he tried firing back a couple of his own. cool with it. It wasn't very ice of you, though.> His inspiration ran dry at that point, but luckily he was interrupted by his trainer.
"Don't let them get in another of those! Another Dynamicpunch!" Lyle instructed.
Spinel gladly leapt forward and aimed a punch at the Ratatta's head again.

Gangrel sighed as he easily ducked under the sableye's fist. His opponent had zero talent for puns.

The rattata's eyes faded back to blue as he darted away, blasting a stream of ice along the way.

Again Spinel was halted in a shell of ice, but this time it was much weaker. Almost as soon as he started struggling, he could feel it loosening rapidly.

(You forgot to post your moves and HP.) Spinel broke out again and fortunately fell flat on the ground, allowing the latest blast of ice to shoot harmlessly above him. Seeing that his pokemon was free, Lyle called out, "Try hitting him again, anywhere!" If aiming to knock him dizzy failed, maybe aiming for a less specific target might help. Spinel had no time to even try and dodge. The wave of electricity slammed into him, leaving the Sableye twitching for a moment. Lyle winced. Spinel looked in bad shape. The trainer considered his new move carefully before calling, "Go defensive with Calm Mind!" His pokemon stopped and took a deep breath, focusing his mind. Spinel was helpless and unable to even try to dodge the dark ball. All he could do was keep trying to work his way out of the ice.

Spinel ignored the ball of shadows, as there was nothing he could do about it. He kept his focus on breaking free, and could feel the ice growing very weak. As Spinel broke free of the ice, he was shocked by another wave of electricity. He lay twitching on the ground for a moment before climbing back to his feet. Lyle chewed his lip worriedly. Things were looking bad for Spinel. Should he try and up his defenses again? Or just attack? But neither would help much at this rate. He had to try and stop that Ratatta. "Spinel, try another Dynamicpunch! Try and slow it down!" Spinel pounced at his opponent, trying to aim his punch carefully.
