It seemed as if the parade could only saturate the streets with utter girliness for so long. Rolling along behind the girl scouts was a float steered more towards young boys. A large Trex seemed to stand over the crowds, jaws snapping in a slow mechanical manner. A long-necked dinosaur stood behind it, leaning over the crowd towards the opposite side of street.

And behind this prehistoric surprise? A boisterous group of boy scouts, laughing and calling out to whomever they pleased while a frantic man with frizzled hair attempted to keep them in the order of which they had been assigned. To no avail, of course- what, with all this energy buzzing through them? They ran, skipped, bounced along in havoc- trading candy and occasionally even passing it out like they were supposed to.

A majority of the candies were hard candies wrapped in plastic, but occasionally mixed into the treasure trove of sweets the boys were practically hoarding were salt water taffies.

Each candy wrapper had a fortune written in it; some read like horoscope predictions, others were clearly proverbs from various influential celebrities in history.

As the scouts cleared away, another float lumbered along in the procession, bedecked with silver sequins and digital typeface spelling out "Happy Teufel Day" as several float-riders dressed up as computer chips pranced around and danced to the pounding techno beat that followed the float as it passed. Supposedly representing Teufel Town's Silicon Valley contributions, it seemed a silly but well-meaning idea until it become obvious that something wasn't right with one of the dancing microchips.

The microchip in question seemed to be having a suit malfunction, bright sparks spraying from the end of a frayed wire. But between the lights and the silver glitter in the air, no one seemed to notice.

Most spectators just assumed it was part of the show!

One of the microchips was about to fall off the float! A few people let out a gasp of shock, but in the end, someone helped him up. They continued with their dancing, and soon after, more confetti exploded. The place was covered in silver sparkles, each fluttering down to their own respective places. It was a beautiful signt to see— anyone would admit that.

Following the Microchip display was a nearly heavenly float. It looked as if the base of the float was made of clouds, and amidst it was a glorious castle. To any child it was an impressive display, though any critical adult would easily point out the castle most definitely wasn't to scale. It had cannons on each side which continually kept shooting out even more sparkling confetti.

The poor clean up crew would have plenty to clean after the parade was over!

Nevertheless, despite the small errors the adults could find, it was still a well made float and it was very nice to look at. They threw white cotton candy spheres in the air, bringing cheers from the eager children and groans from the parents that would have to deal with their soon-to-be hyperactive kids. Eating them could make anyone feel like they were eating pieces of the sky— the candy melted in their mouths immediately, bringing a small moment of bliss to their consumers.

Despite the white coloration being a constant, there were all sorts of flavors. Some sweet, others tart. The normal cotton candy fair as well as some more surprising twists, like the sour apple that fit so well with the town theme and the district their celebration was held.

It seemed as if the castle was in need of a rival, who was trudging along behind the candy-spewing castle. A seven man team of performers were in a rather large dragon costume, zigzagging through the street, the mouth of it being snapped open and shut at the crowd. The children laughed, though some of the meeker children (and even some adults) ended up jumping slightly out of surprise. It was a colorful costume and the detailing was amazing. It was almost like it was Chinese New Year, except it wasn't.

It was the Teufel Festival!

The dragon let out strings from its nose, the paper made fire blowing on to the children's faces. Then they suddenly stopped, and the dragon arched it's back, letting out a loud roar, this time making the kids yelp and hide behind their parents.

"Back! Back you dragon!"

To the side a man in a knight's costume poked at the dragon with a foam lance.

In a mock-scared manner, the dragon fled, zigzagging to the opposite side of the street to pester the children and adults there.

Chasing diligently, the knight in question sandwiched himself between the dragon and the crowd, taming the dragon once and for all.

A magnificent float followed after for it was actually floating! Although it was only about a foot off the air, it was a sight to behold.
