Somehow, Pyotr was certain that this particular activity fell under the heading of "unacceptable behavior"...of course, the lord had given no direct mention of regulating his daughter's general activities, simply preventing certain instances from occurring. They could wander a ways off while hunting, but so long as they did not, the warrior had no explicit instructions to prevent her from engaging in the activity. Beside, many privileged young ladies engaged in the hunt, though it was normally done from horseback as a social activity.

The point was, Pyotr was not inclined to keep her from hunting. It could prove amusing.

When he spotted the target (one that showed evidence of much practice by a skilled hand) he raised a single brow. Amusing, indeed. It seemed the madwoman was skilled at something beyond needlework and gossip, at least. However, when he saw the bow lying nearby, a nearly imperceptible frown crossed his lips.

No matter how sheltered it was by the tree, this was no place to leave a piece of weaponry. Continued exposure to the elements was bad for the wood and the strings and arrows could be damaged by wildlife. Yes, he very much disapproved of the treatment of the weapon.

"An odd place to keep your equipment," he observed. Somehow, the warrior fit a whole lecture's worth of reproof and disappointment into that one simple statement without losing his mild tone.

Even if it was further proof of her father's censure of the activity, the girl has struck him as clever enough to find somewhere better to hide her precious things. Apparently, he had expected too much of her. A lesson to him, then: do not give credit where it is not due.

He turned abruptly away, a hand clasping a wrist behind his back.

"If the lady wishes to hunt for a game bird, then I am certain she will of course find one." Oh, yes. There was mockery in those words, disdain behind that casually polite voice.
