 Magnus hit send on the cellphone, allowing the picture to be sent through. He waited several seconds. The cellphone buzzed, and he opened it, looking down at the response. "...oh," he said, an expression of concern on his face.

Magnus put his phone back in his pocket. "My parents are really picky. They like you, really. There's nothing to worry about," He said, doing his best to give her a warm smile. He tried changing the topic. "What....what do you like to do for fun?" He asked. "I think it's my turn, right?"

Magnus cringed. "Ah...." He paused. "They know you're a mind-reader and umm....they don't want me to be anywhere near you. And they said that you ah....just that they would prefer someone of umm....from a different family for me too...get to know." He said, turning red as he stared at the ground. She's going to hate me now... He thought sadly

"Of course I trust you," said Magnus, putting his head in his hands as he sat down. "But my parents....they're much more paranoid about this kind of thing...because we umm...." They've done stuff that isn't exactly legal he thought before he could stop himself. "Oh no..." he whispered. He looked up at her. "Please, can you understand what I mean?" He rubbed the back of his head with his hand. "They don't want people going around knowing certain things about our family. Someone like that.....could...if they wanted to I mean...you know...get us in a lot of trouble..."
