I taught myself harmonica froma little book i picked up. I also practice with drums every once and a while. And right now I'm trying to learn piano by myself, it's actually easier than I thought. Once you know where the notes are, you can play. I use my flute music or try popular songs by ear.

I grew up in a home where there was ready access to a piano, and as a result, grew to know the notes of it by ear. After that, I learned about notes and sheet music from my band director. With the knowledge of scales and key signatures, I was able to teach myself guitar, Alto Saxophone, and trumpet. I also mess around with percussion from time to time, but then quickly retreat back to my piano.

I taught myself piano and violin. I got pretty good at the piano and I start violin about a year ago.

I taught myself the piano. My mom kept saying: "I keep on forgetting to get you a piano teacher..." so I wanted to be ready. But that never happened. I can now play a bunch of pop songs! lol lol lol

I taught myself guitar. Just youtube guitar and piano lessons. Also for guitar go to http://www.ultimate-guitar.com and just check out some of your favorite songs. The site shows you what chords the song uses and how to play them.

Learning Guitar right now. :3 Finger charts for sure. Start with basics, like C-major/minor scales and such.

I pretty much taught myself the trumpet... in 5th grade when I started we were supposed to have a private teacher so we could kickstart our learning. Wellllll, my dad was supposed to be my teacher since he can play really well. Yeah that never happened. He was too "busy." But I guess I taught myself well because now I'm first chair x)

When I joined marching band in high school, they just threw me a tsax because we don't march bass clarinet. I dug through the band room and found a beginner's book and that helped me learn it! But it's also just feeling your way around the instrument and figuring it out.

Well,my older sister taught me how to play some percussion instruments when I was younger,learned trumpet,and baritone emotion_yatta

i agree with that ^^^ultimate-guitar.com is really the best site for getting tabs and learning songs off of. youtube helps as well with this. you can listen to the song and learn to play it.

I'm attempting to teach myself ukulele, but after being strictly a woodwind for so long, I'm pretty lost on strings.
I'm so clueless, my boyfriend who's played guitar for 10 years can't even help me make much sense of it yet lol xd
Any suggestions?

I taught myself to play the Flute, and have been playing for seven years now. I also have made it into my states honor band the past 3 years in a row

piano is fairly easy to get the basics down, I taught myself a few songs in one night! i'm trying to learn guitar by myself but it's really not going as well aha
