Jacinthus fell quiet as he watched her clean out the wounds, inspecting them, then gave the best smile he couple, "It's good to see that nothing is broken." Other then maybe the woman's pride if she landed on that but other then that it seemed that other then the cuts and bruises that she would likely walk away from all of this despite having made a rather spectacular fall through the floor of that place. Turning back toward it he found himself studying it closely. With some rope, a torch or two, some help, and a dose of courage he would actually be more then happy to go back. The place was overgrown with crystals after all, it was beautiful! He really knew that Keilana would love the place and she had been nagging him to bring her out with him, going on and on about her not being a little kid anymore and other such things. Maybe... maybe here. There didn't seem to be dangerous animals in the vicinity so it might be a good start, right?
Glancing back over at the Alkidike he gave her a bit of a smile, "Jacinthus, huh? You not one for nicknames? If that's the case I will be sure not to call you May or something." He said in a joking manner, taking back his flask so that he could replace it in his pack. Her name was rather short already, all of four letters, and as such he really wouldn't be able to shorten it to anything other then May or maybe Aya, neither of which were that much shorter but would suffice were it not for the fact that she didn't really seem to like nicknames, even wanting to go as far as to use his full name with him despite the length of it. Leaning back on the branch of the tree he found himself looking back over toward the building again, to Maya, and back once more.
"So, what was it you were doing there? Same as me? Wanting to get something shiny for a sister?" He asked of in a curious manner. The crystals were on the outside for the most part, at least from what he'd seen, so what else was it that might have drawn her to the place? Though the question was would she tell him? She might think him so sort of spy and not want to share the reason that she was in such a place even though he'd told her why he was here. It was worth a try though, right?

Testing her leg she slowly attempted to stand on it though blood did seep quickly onto the cloth and Maya wavered a bit from the pain. She was scared the event would leave a nasty scar on her leg but what else could she do. Alkidikes where not healers after all, and with that thought she remembered an encounter with a strange timid Shifter. Perhaps she could seek him out for some help if Elder Kishku wouldn't be able to help her. Not that anything like that would be an easy sort unless she could figure a way to get some bugs to lure him to her. The thoughts amused her as she struggled to take another step forward. Swallowing hard Maya did her best to suck it up and not show the pain she was feeling on her face.
"May?" the question hung in the air blinking, she wasn't sure if it was meant as a joke or not compared to the fact that he had offered for her to call him by a nickname as he called it. Coupled with the fact she had never been given a shorter name before Maya wasn't quite sure how she wanted to take it yet. Grateful that her mind was taken off her name by the question of the building. Maya stared back at the building, she hadn't quite noticed the crystals on the building itself but rather a strange windows that had been covered in a multi colored glass. On second thought the crystals were everywhere in the forest so Maya really didn't think much of them being in places.
Cutting her thoughts Maya looked the building over once more before actually talking. "Exploring, I was searching it. I wasn't looking for anything in particular just searching. I've never seen a formation like this before. It looks like the inside of my tree yet the ground is different the smell is stagnant and horrid. But I've never seen anything like this strange rock formation and I had to check it out. This was a task given by Elder, she says its from Aisha that we learn and explore the land." Maya didn't often speak and thought the silence of the ordeal it was clear this was the most she had ever spoken.
"Never mind that, I am thirsty and the lake is a ways off from here." Lifting her hand she pointed it towards the direction of the dimming light. Carefully climbing down from the tree she was so comfortable in to walk along the ground with her Radaku. Leaping from branch to branch would risk injuring her leg further and in order to prevent that from happening the young Alkidike decided it was best to keep to the ground with her loyal companion. Not to mention with Pacja around, and being a fierce predator not many creatures would risk crossing her path. Even if she was a baby.

Moving to follow after the Alkidike he watched her closely, taking in the way that she was moving, hoping that she was going to be alright. She was carrying her own way, that was a good sign. At least it meant that she would be able to make it back to her home when the time came, right? A part of him wanted to tell her to head back now but at the same time he wanted to see the lake that she had spoken of. He wanted to see the place, to gather the water that it offered given his flask was empty, and then go from there. It felt selfish of him but really, if he wanted to get home, he would need the water.
When she said the word 'May' in such a questioning manner he gave a laugh, "Yep, unless you prefer Aya? Either way is good by me of course." He said in a joking manner, wondering if she thought he was serious about giving her a nickname. It would almost be tempting to do so just to mess with her a little. A thought he tried to quickly dismiss, reminding himself that this was an Alkidike warrior, not his sister. As such he should refrain from teasing her else he end up thrown in the lake that the two of them were going to be traveling to, "But if you would prefer we can always stick to Maya." He added, wanting to make sure that things stayed peaceful between them. He refused to be the reason that a battle broke out between the Leaf Tribe and the women of the Alkidike.
Watching as the woman glanced at the building he looked that way too, watching the way that the place seemed to glitter due to the fact that the place was covered in crystal, "Exploring, huh? Makes sense." Of course as she mentioned that it was a task given to her by the Elder, as well mentioning someone called 'Aisha' but before he could ask more about all of that she was telling him to 'never mind' and changing the subject. Seemed as though whatever it was that she let slip wasn't something that she was going to give any details on, huh? Giving a half shrug he moved to fall into step beside her, "Alright, let's see about visiting the lake. I have to say I am pretty curious to see what one of them are." He said, ears giving a little twitch as he said that. He wanted to see anything and everything, to learn a lot about what was out there, as well as wondering if any of it was worth bringing home with him. If it was useful to his people he would do all he could to drag various things home no matter how much of a bother it might be. For now though he would set that ever present desire aside and follow this girl toward their destination. She said that it was a ways off, and with her injury it might take longer, so all he could do was hope it would be worth it.

"You have never seen a lake before?" It seemed to be almost alien to her that someone wouldn't know what a lake was. She loved the water, it soothed her and seemed to help remove her overwhelming emotions. Not to mention the cold seemed to feel really good against the heat of the forest. Wincing as she stumbled on a couple roots that protruded from the ground Maya winced. She could feel her warm blood trickle from the cloth and down her leg. Desperately wishing she were closer to the lake so she could at least soak the cloth.
Trying to distract from the wound and her stumbling, Maya continued to talk. "Lakes are beautiful glistening points of water, and they house a lot of creatures too. Especially fish." Her stomach growled at the thought of fresh fish watching as Pacja would run ahead and circle back. Her movements dancing along the path before freezing not far ahead of them staring off to the left, raising her tail as if she were getting ready to strike at something.
Maya's antenna's twitched slightly as she glanced in the same direction, but seemed to ignore whatever it was hidden just behind their gaze. The vibrations didn't seem to be large enough to cause the woman to worry and so she continued to struggle forward towards the lake.

Jacinthus gave a shake of his head, "There aren't big sources of water where I am from." In fact it was quite dry, a whole lot of sand that could be seen in all directions. Always on the edge of the horizon though was a dark shadow, that being the edge of the massive forest of Jauhar, something that he'd always been interested in, "I have only recently started to travel as far out as this so that I could explore this forest." He explained. He was really loving this place, despite all the inherent dangers, and really wanted to spend more time here. In fact today was part of a scouting mission, to see if he could find a place safe enough to bring his sister to explore. The inside of that house he and Maya were just in being the last place he wanted Kei... though he supposed that outside should be alright, the ground seemed more stable outside.
When the Alkidike started to explain what it was exactly that a lake was, and that there were fish in it he perfect up and looked quite curious, "Really? I am to go fishing soon with a Shifter I met, it will be nice to get an idea what it is that I will be contending with. What can you tell me about fish? The only ones I have had dealings with in the past were already salted and dried." To get information ahead of time, before he went fishing with Takoda, would help him out in not looking as though he had no clue. Which he didn't.
Turning for a moment toward the beast that Maya had walking along with them he found himself glancing between it, the Alkidike, and the place the both of them were looking, "What is it?" He asked, wondering if something had picked up on the scent of Maya's blood. It was possible and it meant that they could very well have a stalker at the moment. Tightening his hold on his walking stick he continued along walking at the woman's side but it seemed that he was at the ready, just in case something decided to burst free of the underbrush to come at them. It would the last thing that it ever did he vowed silently to himself.

"About fish?" Maya seemed to regard the thoughts quite carefully as the dull colored fish swam about her memories. Personally she didn't quite care for fish they were just there. Some of her sisters found them rather tasty, Maya on the other hand preferred fruit and nuts. She wasn't so sure how she wanted to answer his question. Perhaps he expected they would be fancy or colorful like the forest itself was to most. "Dull. plain grey. They lack color's and shape. Like strange snakes that roam the bottom of the water yet never bite you." Well to be honest they never bit her but the Alkidike wasn't so sure they wouldn't bite anyone else. She didn't really feel like voicing that concern however as she continued her progress forward. Casting a sideways glance at Pacja but didn't seem to pay much notice beyond that.
The Radaku however thumped her tail against the ground threateningly, a slow hiss spilling out of the small creature as her tail flipped to the other side thumping even harder. Maya had seen these actions before, almost like a territorial power move the strange creature had performed then. Whatever it was this time wasn't large enough to cause harm unless it was a large insect though she disregarded that quickly when Pacja abandoned the stare and trotted playfully back towards the young Alkidike.
"Slimy, they are very slimy creatures." Maya continued her eyes glancing about towards the other side of the tree's. A small clearing held way into a small trickling sound of water.
"The water here doesn't move fast, but fast enough the water is fresh." Limping towards the water the Alkidike winced painfully. Being careful to remove the cloth from her leg before approaching the water. Shifting to sit down Maya dipped the blood laden cloth in the water and began to squeeze out it contents.

Jacinthus's eyes went a little wide as the fish were described to him in terms that made them appear as being quite... gross. Strange since they tasted so good, or at least the dried and salted kind did, "They sound... ummm..." He wasn't exactly sure what to say, they sounded bad the way that she described them and he found himself wondering how one was supposed to get them when they were under the water and such dull colors that they would likely not be noticed all that easily. Not something that one could get easily from the sounds of it but he meant to try regardless, wanting to see what they tasted like when they were fresh.
"Is your beast alright?" He asked at last, finding himself glancing over toward the pacju that was growling and hiss, looking a bit puffed up, tail lashing. He was starting to think that they were in real danger... that was until the beast just stopped it's growling and padded over to Maya instead. Perhaps it was just dull witted like every other beast he thought to himself, deciding that he wouldn't worry about what it was that the creature was doing until it actually chased something from hiding or ran into the brush and brought back whatever it was that was putting it in such a tizzy. Worry about what the animal was doing was forgotten when his long ears caught the sound of the water, twitching a bit, before he gave a smile, "Oooh, sounds like we are close." He said, barely containing his excitement.
A moment later they had reached the lake and Jacinthus couldn't help but to stare in awe at the sight of it. It was... it was huge! Like nothing he'd ever seen before, and instantly he was kneeling down next to it a short distance from Maya, "This is amazing." He said, dipping a hand into the cool water, swirling it around for a moment before he fetched his flasks, wanting to get them filled with the cold water first, before he started to play in it. Despite his awe at seeing such a sight he had to keep his wits about him, had to remember that he needed his flasks full or he wouldn't be making it home. He could play later, right now he had more important things to do. Once the flasks were filled, and once more within his pack, he set to scooping up the water to his mouth, drinking his fill and then some. There was plenty to go around so he figured he would drink as much as possible now, before he had to head out.

"Pacju was probably stating territory towards another creature." Maya said shrugging nonchalantly as she brought the cloth out of the water. "She is highly territorial against other Female Radoku and Menzuri's. I thought she was still a bit young for those antics but I guess not."
Wringing the cloth in a tight grip as she pulled it up to her face to inspect it, Maya winced glancing down at her leg. The thought of dipping it in the clean fresh water crossed her mind and when the positives outweighed the negatives the Alkidike slowly lowered her leg into the water. It stung for a few moments but the pain soon vanished with the cooling temperature of the water. A pleasant effect if not rather chilling. Her eyes slowly swept over the surface of the water, miniscule bugs danced along the surface and Pacja nestled by the edge of the water on a stone dipping her nose to the surface and drinking the water around her.
"Fish aren't very pretty around here but they taste well enough once their heads, tails and guts are removed. Or so my sisters tell me. They also say it has to be cooked for it to be worth it." The smile played across her features again as she took note of Jacinthus' enthusiasm for the lake. Even small girls her age didn't find this as impressive as he did. Somehow it seemed to almost be a relief to see someone enjoy the water so much.
Pausing her drinking the beast paused lifting her head into the air sniffing quietly before returning to the water. Her eyes scanning the surface before she bolted deep into the liquid. Maya watched her as she broke back into the air carrying a fish before trotting off towards the tree's to nestle down and eat.
"I guess you don't know what her kind is. Considering she is from the forest here."

A highly territorial female, that reminded him of someone he knew he thought to himself, doing his best not to laugh at the thought that was comparing his younger sister to Maya's beast. When she mentioned that she'd thought her pet too young for such things he did chuckle, "Yes, it seems everyone grows up far too fast for their own good." He told Maya, thinking of his sister who had insisted that she be allowed to come along on an adventure. Yeah, she'd grown up far too quickly for her own good too... well more like she grew too fast for Jacin's own good.
After drinking his fill the leaf tribesman plopped down on the ground, leaning back so that he could rest his weight on his hands, "It would be interesting to try cooked fish sometime. It must be better fresh I'd imagine instead of salted and dried which, to its credit, really isn't all that bad." He said, then glanced over at Maya, "So you have sisters too? Younger or older?" He wondered if she felt the same way as him, wanting to keep her sisters out of harms way even if they didn't care for the idea. Watching as the beastly pet of the Alkidike went rushing forward and into the water he did his best not to laugh, "Wow... she saw something she wanted." He commented, watching as the creature dove into the water and went under, after some some sort of treasure or another. So enthusiastic, "Wow... she is reminding me more and more of my little sister..."
When Maya stated that she guessed he didn't know about her pet he shook his head, "I've never seen one of her kind before, no." He would keep to himself the idea that he thought they might taste good since Maya seemed fairly attached to her pet. It was just lost on him, the idea of pets when it was hard enough to feed oneself some days, never mind feeding an animal. Though this one did seem fairly self sufficient which caused him to like her just a bit more then he might any other beast not meant for eating.

Shrugging at the comment of things growing up to fast for their own good, Maya really couldn't relate. Things grew as they wanted when they wanted, some earlier than others but all together in the time best for them. Though some seemed to show the opposite timing. Dipping the cloth back into the water as she reluctantly pulled her leg out to inspect it her ears twitched back and forth listening to Jacinthus. She had not heard of this 'salt' he had spoken of though he made it sound rather tasty. She wondered if it was possible to eat on its own if it made fish taste better. Fish really tasted awful on its own compared to the fruit and nuts in the tree's.
Glancing up at Pacju as she watched her play, her mind focused on the leaf tribesman's words. Sisters? Of course she had sisters. Everyone who was born from the great Aisha was a sister of hers. "We are all born from Aisha, so I have sisters both older and younger than myself." Her dark bug like eyes glanced over the strange man not far from her and then back to the water. She couldn't understand how something wasn't so obvious were these creatures not also born of something? Just because they didn't hold title to the land didn't mean they had no mother.
The Alkidikes head swam as more idea's came from the strange fellow. Why would his sister be like a Radoku? Perhaps he was confused and had grown up thinking animals where like his family? It was a possibility since they seemed to be somewhat blood thirsty for her kind. So why had he helped her and not taken the time to kill her.
"Radoku, is what she is. They are loyal beasts to one person or creature. They can only bond soon after birth too. That and as you can see she much prefers meat. I tried to give her fruit but she got sick. Poor Pacju."

All born from Aisha? That was an interesting and confusing prospect, "So you only have one mother?" He asked, finding himself wondering if that might be dangerous, what would then happen to the Alkidike if their singular mother was hurt or killed? He knew that sort of pain all to well having lost his parents when he was quite young so it wasn't a prospect he really even wanted to consider when it came to others. Instead he merely said, "I only have the one sister but she is more then enough of a handful for me." He said, leaning back on his elbows, tilting his head back so that he could stare up at the sky over head, able to actually see it from here. Within the forest the tree's leaves got to think to see anything of the sky, making it feel a little closed in at times.
"Radoku, huh?" They sounded interesting, bonding to people soon after their births, only liking one person, interesting but not something he might consider for himself. Maybe for Kei, having a pet around that would protect her would be nice... though he wondered if she would want a pet anymore then he did. Still, it was something to consider, "So how does one go about finding the nest of a Radoku?" He asked of her, curious how she might have obtained her pet. If anyone could aid in catching one of them for his sister it would be Maya since she had one of her own. Unless of course one of her sisters got the beast for her?

Watching the water drip off the cloth as the wind stung against her leg, Maya went back to tying the cloth around her leg. The stinging was much less intense than it had been and Maya was sure that she would soon be able to return home and get the proper care she needed. Once that was done she lowered her leg back into the coolness of the water again. Sniffing as she looked over towards Jacinthus. "Yes one mother, would probably be a way to put it. Though some of us have been granted a special gift by Aisha. I hope one day to be given that gift as well. The gift of my own lotus flower." A dreamy look crossed her face as she seemed to stare up at the canopy of leaves above them. A peaceful smile resting on her features.
"I am happy with so many sisters, there is so much support and yet so much to love." It seemed almost unheard of for Maya to mention her sisters in such a loving way, but there was no way he would know any of them enough to tell them she cared so much. So she took some comfort in that if she was letting herself be so open to a stranger out of the blue. "You have mentioned your sister a lot, you must truly care for her."
Placing her hands beside her as she sat upright on the rocks, her fingers digging into a couple of the moss coverings. "To be honest even the sight of them is extremely rare." She paused the pain of her memory flashed around her. "Her mother died not long after her birth, and so I took her in. I've never seen babies so young before. The sight of a mother is the rarest thing. None of my sisters know much about them save from Elder. When I brought her in it was hard bringing her back. A menzuri got her."

Jacin starred for a moment, one ear twitching, and found himself what was so great about a flower that she might end up with a dreamily dazed expression on her face. He'd wager that it was either a girl thing or an Alkidike thing, neither of which was something that he would ever figure out being a guy from the Leaf Tribe so he figured that he wouldn't over much about Maya's dream flower, "Well, good luck in getting your lotus one day." He said, deciding that it was best to wish her luck with her quest for the flower even if he didn't know what she was referring to. It was important to her so doing anything less would be rather cold of him.
As she told him about how there was much love and support among her siblings he felt that was something that he could understand to a degree. He got the same from Keilana after all, at least when they were butting heads over every last thing. Giving a grin he nodded his head, "Yeah, she is my little sister and I have had a hand in taking care of her and raising her, as well as keeping her safe, for some time now." He explained, knowing that he was quite close to his sister and likely protective to the point of being overly so but he didn't want anyone daring to hurt her. Not that she couldn't take care of herself he thought to himself, one hand rubbing against his cheek where he'd gotten a punch from her last time he was teasing her.
"She is the reason I came out here, looking for a place that I can bring her for her first adventure outside of the mundane hunting grounds that are just around our village." He explained, wanting to bring Keilana to see this particular forest, before she ran off on her own to see it.
Forcing his mind off his precious sister for a bit he listened closely to what she was saying about the Radoku and the fact that they were rather rare. Not something he would come across easily, that much was for sure, and to think that even the elders in Maya's tribe didn't know that much about them, "That's a shame, I almost thing little Kei might enjoy a loyal pet." At least he figured that she would appreciate them far more then he would. As to exactly how she would feel about it though, that he couldn't be certain about. He could only hope it would be something that she would want for and enjoy. He wouldn't worry about it though, not if the things were so rare that finding them was near impossible. Maybe if by some stroke of fate he was blessed to trip over one then he would worry about what to do next.

"Thank you." The words of gratitude spilled from her when he wished her luck on getting her very own lotus. She couldn't help thinking how warm she was feeling towards the other tribes. Where they really as blood thirsty as she had been told by her older sisters? True the land belonged to the Alkidike but they weren't harming it, perhaps there was reason to be angry if they were hurting the land. She just hadn't seen it yet so far, questions merged in her head as she listened to Jacinthus speak.
Maya couldn't help but feel that any trip into the forest was never going to be a safe one. Just because they had Pacju with them seemed to make the Alkidike wonder if he had gotten the wrong idea about the safety in here. Then again there was a chance that he really knew the dangers and would keep his sister away from this place.
Moving to stand Maya shifted her weight back and forth on her legs, there wasn't bleeding this time so she was sure she had managed to clot. She was pleased to know someone enjoyed the company of her companion at least half the amount she did. Moving to sit back down satisfied she was ok Maya smiled at Jacinthus. "I'm not sure pulling your sister in here is a safe bet. New territories always mean new threats. I learned that through my first attempt into the sands out there." Maya motioned towards the strange unknown beyond the forest.
Having finished her meal Pacju came to settle beside Maya, laying on her side and breathing heavy as if she were falling asleep. Reaching out the young Alkidike started petting her side, her horns. Though the beasts tail remained unmoving.

Jacinthus nodded, lifting a hand up to rub it against his face, "I've tried to tell her as much but I get a feeling that, if I don't bring her myself that she will end up coming here on her own and that is just something I can't allow. I know she will get hurt because of her temperament." He said, looking as though he were seriously stuck between a rock and a hard place with his current predicament. He'd comment on how he wished she would be a good girl and stick closer to home but given he was talking to an Alkidike the woman might take that sort of comment as an insult, not something that he wanted since he Maya was much bigger then he was, had a pet that was loyal to her, and he might end up getting his backside handed to him by two women in the span of a day. Not a thought he relished even a little bit.
"I know that it's dangerous and it's because it's dangerous that I figure it best that I keep her at my side. I can almost see her picking fights with the first people she runs across in the forest if she doesn't agree with them on something. She can be a handful at times." The understatement of the year. Giving a shake of his head he turned to look over at Maya, "So you have been out into the sands of Tale then?" The idea that the Alkidike were coming to Tale wasn't something unheard of but he wondered if he should worry, they were dangerous after all from what all he'd heard... then again now that he was sitting alongside one of them he found himself wondering where those rumors came from. This one seemed... well he hated to say soft but that was how he'd describe her. Then again that could just be due to the circumstances of how they'd met one another.
Shifting so that he was sitting cross legged, with his arms resting in his lap, he said, "Tale is a rather... expansive, wide open place compared to this forest, not less dangerous either, but I love the place. It's home." He said with a smile.
