Riltmos didn't have time to let out a sound, his mind gone into a panic at the sudden whirling of the forest around them. What was happening? Everything was spinning - dancing - shadows? Whose? "Father-?" Silhouettes...The entire world was spinning and suddenly he was falling, the ground rushed up to meet him as it solidified.

He was staring at the sky- or where it would have been if the trees weren't so thick. Wherever they were, it definitely wasn't where they were before. Riltmos shakily stood to his feet, clutching his spear. His yellow eyes darted about as he caught his breath, when he started holding it he couldn't say. He listened to the forest around them. It was eerily quiet for a forest, and not a hint of whatever part of the river they had been near before. His internal compass had been thrown for a loop and he was throughly lost and confused.

"Well," He swallowed nervously, "I'm guessin' we're somewheres else entirely, aren't we? What do we do now?" The boy was suddenly parched and ached for water.

“That, that is a VERY good question.” Locke replied, his eyes still wide as he stared around at the change in the surroundings. “I’ve never… I have never heard of anything like this happening.

What they had seen, those had not been men, not even formerly men. Spirits perhaps who could command the trees to rise up, to turn their sturdy root beds and walk like ‘men’.

“Everyone stay close together. Even if we have to run, both of you pair off with one of us, one of the swords. Hold damned hands if you have to but I want no one alone if we can at all avoid it.”

Skyla rolling movement of the ground and the shifting of the trees was so sudden that even Skyla lost her balance. She fell to the ground so quickly that she was only able to save herself from ending up face first in the snow by rolling her body and then shifting her position to a crouching stance. Gloved fingers dug into the snow, her expression shifting with concern and a hint of betrayal. She didn't understand quite why this was happening, what had they done to anger the forest so?

"I-I... fear this is what h-happened... to my c-comrades."

How else would so many seasoned hunters go missing at such a condensed period of time? It was almost a painful realization. The forest had been dangerous but it had always provided them what was necessary for their meek survival but now it seemed like the forest was turning on them.

Skyla remained on the ground until she was sure the forest was done shifting and then she launched herself off it, landing with a soft crunch from her boots pressing into the snow. She looked at her group, quickly counting heads to verifying that they were all there. Had the forest taken any of them? It didn't appear that any of them were missing but in a way they were all gone. She didn't know where they were now and that didn't make the odds of any of her other party members knowing very good.

Everyone was trying to make the best of the situation, trying to figure out what was going on and make sure they all remained safe. Riltmos searched for answers, Locke suggested they hold hands if necessary. Immediately the words struck Skyla and she felt her hands withdrawing closer to her as if to make sure no one tried to hold either of them.

"We s-should go." She suggested once again. There was nothing safe about this place and standing here discussing what had happened and planning what they were going to do had no benefit to them anymore, not now that they had been sucked into the forest's unknown. She wasn't even sure if marking the trail would have any benefit if the forest would simply move them if it so desired.

"W-which way, s-sir?" Skyla said as she looked around the forest. Her eyes remained on the forest and her back to her party. In some aspects, the forest was safer than them. What a strange thought.
