At the end of the day, Ginny was on her way out the door when Betsy stopped her. "Hey, Gin," Betsy said, handing the girl a $20 bill. "This is from the boy you dumped soda on." Ginny blushed and slowly took the money from the older woman's hand. "I told him not to bother..." she said slowly, feeling the tears start to well up again. Smiling up at Betsy, she said goodbye and made her way to the daycare to pick up Alex. "Hey, sweetie!" Ginny said as her little boy ran up to her. "You ready to go home?" She picked up Alex and he rode on her hip as she carried him a couple blocks away to their apartment. Once inside, Ginny let Alex run around as she warmed up their dinner. Luckily, the owner of the diner knew about her predicament and was willing to let her take home a free dinner every night. She and Alex ate together, got washed up, and went to bed before 6:30 PM. This was the only way for Ginny to get any sleep before her next two jobs. At 10:30 PM, she was up and getting ready to head down to the hotel. She carried her sleeping son with her and placed him in one of the cart that she wheeled around to all the rooms on her assigned floor. When she was finished at the hotel, she dropped off Alex at daycare and made her way to the radio station to host the morning show.

He just couldn't sleep! What was wrong with him? He went to his kitchen and rummaged through the contents of his fridge and pantry; crackers, sugar, tea, one jar of jam. Bread, milk, 2 apples and ice in the freezer. He turned his old kettle on and settled to make a cup of tea. "Goooood morning, Greensville*! I'm Ginny Chase, your host for the morning Breakfast Club." Ginny smiled and glanced down at the notes she had prepared for three hours she was going to be at the station. She never got through everything, thanks to the music breaks, but it was better than running out of things to say. "So I read an article yesterday about how eating farts might be healthy for you? Ew, right? I'm sorry, but I'm not about to start collecting my farts in a jar, nor will I be eating someone else's farts." Ginny smirked and leaned back in her seat, shaking her head. "What are they going to do? Put them into capsules? It'll be like every morning after you eat breakfast you'll down your vitamins and then a fart pill? No thanks! Anyways, I don't want to ruin your appetites so I'm going to put on a little Florence and the Machine for you."

Ginny got out of the station on time and was able to buy a muffin and hot chocolate to enjoy on her way to work. As she walked, she could not help but think about the young man from yesterday. Why would he still pay her after she ruined his clothes and books? And why did he look so upset the entire time he was there? Ginny bit her bottom lip, a common trait of hers that indicated she was thinking. Tossing her garbage in a trash can, she opened the door of the diner and retrieved her apron from the closet. I wonder if I'll see him again, she thought, clocking herself in. I've never seen him before yesterday... Is he new in town? Or was he just passing through...? Ginny did not have much time to think about that because she was soon busy taking breakfast orders.

His math exam was at 2 and he still had time to study. He got dressed in a pair of even older jeans than yesterday and the same sweater, shoes and a white wife beater. He grabbed his, now dry, textbook and headed back to the diner, hoping to see Ginny. Ginny was in the kitchen at the time so she did not see Chris walk in and take a seat. As she walked past his table, she nearly dropped the plate of food she had in her hand. Don't need a repeat of yesterday, she thought, sneaking past him when she noticed that he was absorbed in his textbook. After delivering the food to the correct table, she walked back over to Chris with her order pad in hand. "Good morning," she told him. "Can I get you some coffee to start off?"

Ginny rolled her eyes playfully when he winked at her. "I'll be right ba-" She stopped talking and walking away when she heard what else he had to say. Her eyes widened and she could not help but smile. She had no idea that people actually listened to her show and it felt great to know that she had a fan. "Do you really like her? And the Breakfast Club?"

Aside from his mom and a few of his female friends, Ginny was the only other female he thought of. And, as pathetic as it was, he thought of her a lot. Ginny listened to Chris's response and chuckled. "Well, she really isn't that hard to find," she told him. "And I know for a fact she isn't scripted." Ginny smiled and walked away to retrieve the coffee pot. On her way she took a few more orders before returning to Chris's table. "Here's your coffee," she said, pouring it into his mug. "You want any waffles or pancakes? Maybe a muffin?"

Ginny feigned surprise when Chris said that her name was a coincidence. "Isn't it?" she asked. "I mean... how many girls do you know with the name 'Ginny'? I think I'm the only one in this town." She smiled and rolled her eyes again when he winked at her for the second time that morning. "One, I don't even know your name and you're asking me to eat with you? Two, I'm working. Three, you're studying."

Ginny felt her cheeks start to redden but she tried to play it off. She had never met a guy who had been so persistent about asking her out and it had been such a long time since she had been on a date... Ginny smiled and started walking away. "I'm done at five... and I'll be back with your pancakes." She returned the coffee pot and put in Chris's order before rushing around the diner again. She would have to let the day care know that she was going to be late picking up Alex... and she would be getting less sleep tonight... but she was willing to pay more and sleep less to spend a little time with Chris. After all, he seemed really nice and he was actually kind of cute... Okay, he was really cute.
