"I was born on the Northern continent. Don't remember much about it though. I was really little and my father was a Southern native so naturally my mother went South." Hekate replied with a shrug trying to see what Dizzian saw in their surroundings, but no less amused by her friends enthusiasm. She personally preferred the South. Her words were true though her mother more like had followed her father back South rather then gone there with him, but that was for her to know.
At Dizzian's words Devith looked up borrowing his rider's eyes as she glanced over at the massive bronze. So the man had been a bronzerider hmm? Perhaps he would be spared becoming a scratching post for now. . .he still wasn't good enough though as far as Devith was concerned.
No clawing up riders. Beside dragons can't kill humans. Hekate spoke sensing her dragon's thoughts with an amused smile as she scratched her lifebond's eyeridges.
I didn't say I'd kill him. Just make sure he remembers you. Devith purred his voice practically dripping dark smug pleasure at the thought, but he eased off at his rider's disapproving gaze with a draconic sigh.
I rather like him. Hekate added confiding in her dusky silver as he leaned into her side with a grumble.
Very well then I will deem him fit to continue his existence. Devith assured her as Dizzian managed to draw a light blush from the girl.
"His bronze wasn't that big. Trust me he offered to let me see him." Hekate added with a roguish wink to Dizzian and a smile that said she'd had a fun time turning the man down flat. Though they both knew her true reason for doing so. No man could ever depose Devith in her heart.
"Maybe if we get time we could go meet the white and their rider." Hekate offered as Devith growing bored turned his attention to his favorite sibling.
Courath sister? What do you think of this contraption the two-leggers are making so much fuss over? Do you really think it'll do what they claim? Devith asked somewhat skeptical, he doubted that anything this place could produce could ever hope to out flame him once he got into the skies.

[From Malvren!]
(Tag Mercy)
Dressed in her finest leathers Kleos surveyed the crowds with her lips pursed. Normally she would enjoy a gathering such as this, the chance to dance and flirt with lovely ladies and to enjoy good food and wine. No matter the festive air around her however she could not relax, the reason for their being there weighed too heavily upon her mind. If the machine worked it would be the greatest thing that had ever happened for the people of Pern and she... she would be obsolete. What did a dragonrider do when there would never again be Thread in the sky?
Moriath scoffed with a snort, male, of course it won’t work.>
Shaking her head slightly Kleos cast around for anyone she knew, anyone who could distract her from her conflicted feelings about today. Eventually she spotted Mercy, and a she made a beeline for the whiterider. “Mercy my friend, it it good to see you!” she called, a smile pulling at her heavily scarred face. “What do you make of all this?” she gestured around at the gathering at large, but she meant ‘what do you think of the ancientcrafter’.

(Tag Careesi)
Fick was having a fantastic time. Wine, food, wine, and betting! Plus, if this went right, they might not have to count on riders anymore and that would be fantastic; put the snooty lot right in their place! Sipping from a wineskin the green handler wandered around looking for some company, having just come away from a book holder and placed his bet on whether the thing would work, not work, or blow up. Though he thought it would probably be one of the last two options he had bet on the first; if he made money on that they’d be the best marks he had ever touched!
Slightly distracted by his cheerful thoughts (made more cheerful by the wine he had drunk) he managed to bump into a young woman. “Oh,” he blinked and grinned, “sorry, didn’t see you there!”

[From Trine!]
Xan grinned and took a swig from her skin of mead, She was certainly relaxing and enjoying; it had been an amazing party so far, and she couldn’t wait for the demonstration. She hoped to shells it worked; imagine a life free of Thread! There were so many things they could do with their lives if they didn’t have to be training and fighting all the time.
Still sipping at her drink Xan made her way forward so as to be in place for a good view of the demonstration. On her shoulder, bronze Trouble scanned the immediate area for pretty ladies and or food to steal; he was a flit of simple tastes.
============
Tor had caught a lift with Xan, and was starting to wonder if he should have. He had drunk rather too much last night, and the hangover was making it hard to communicate with his firelizards. For the blind harper, silk scarf tied over his face where his eyes ought to be, this was a problem. Instead of a steady feed of vision from brown Eldest on his shoulder he was getting odd flashes in fits and starts. Feeling sorry for himself the Harper found somewhere to sit down; even if his head was pounding and he could hardly see he couldn’t miss a momentous occasion such as this.
============
K’ro wasn’t too sure what he made of all this. Head and shoulders above the crowd, the green rider mulled the situation and nibbled at the candied nuts he had bought. Overhead Viridith circled, keeping a sharp eye on him and the gathering as a whole; his bondmate was suspicious, but then she was often suspicious of anything that wasn’t him. Life without Thread. He didn’t know where that would leave him and his fellow riders, and was trying not to leap to any conclusions. Very few people he had spoken to seemed to think this device would even work, so there was probably no point thinking about it anyway.
============
(Tag S'kor)
Z’iv was not as drunk as he had intended to be; Zetath was insisting he wanted sober ears and eyes on the demonstration whenever it started. Savouring the one skin of wine his black was allowing him to have the tanned young man wandered through the crowds and tried not to think about the outcome of the demonstration. Disagreeing violently with your dragon about things wasn’t nice.
Fortunately he then spotted a distraction in the form of S’kor, and sauntered over to him. “Heya Sweetheart,” he purred, “how’re you enjoying the party?”

[From Benden!]
A’nos smiled brightly and drifted through the crowds, pausing here and there to say a word to somebody he recognised. Underneath the friendly exterior the Harper’s chill mind analyzed, and tried to make plans for all possible eventualities. That was never possible of course, but the more you did think the more chance you had to being at least semi prepared to leap on an opportunity, or avoid a pitfall.
Thread or no Thread, he and Acriculeth would rise.
=============
(Tag Sasar)
Harmony had dressed up, naturally. Tight black bodice, slinky red skirt with a split up the side, and a flowing black cloak with a red lining to keep her warm. This would be a day she would recall for the rest of her life, the defeat of the arrogant riders! Soon they would be worth less than the whers they liked to look down on so much, and wouldn’t that be sweet?
Smirking to herself the young bronze handler approached a familiar face, one of those who had got an egg from the latest clutch. “Hello there, it’s Sasar isn’t it?” she greeted. “I’m Harmony, bronze Harmonsk is mine. Is it me or do most of the people around here with dragonrider knots look a little bit nervous?”
=============
(Looking for Ceta!)
F’itz did not like this. He did not like it at all. All this newfangled technology couldn’t be a good thing, what was the point in shaking up a system that was working? There was no telling the effect this device could have on Pern in the long run.
F’itz sighed and shook his head as the dark and increasingly unlikely predictions from Brumath bounced around inside his head. Their best hope was that the thing was a total failure; that seemed to be what a lot of people expected in any case. Could the ancientcrafter really have managed to rebuild and repurpose one of the old machines? He hoped not, the idea of the whole world changing was frightening....
But there was one good thing about all this.
As F’itz took a restrained sip from a skin of wine, his black firelizard Cinder skimmed over the crowds seeking a certain green rider from Trine. He hoped Cetalese had come today; it would be good to see her in person again.

Mercy & Aerith ((Aerith tag to Mazamath)) ((Mercy Tag to Kleos))
'Good day yourself Mazamath' Aerith responded, pleased at the contact from someone she knew - while her's might be happy to speak and chat with anyone who might cross her path Aerith generally preferred to be surrounded by those whom had already proven themselves as good people. Mazamath and his were good people. 'Mine is trying to make her way up through the crowd, somewhere near the middle at the moment' She shared with the blue 'How is yours? Is she excited to be here?'
While Aerith was occupied with speaking to Mazamath Mercy was indeed trying to make her way up through the crowd - it was somewhat difficult what with everyone shifting and moving to and fro as they connected with people they knew and she'd managed to get pushed out near the edge of the crowd when she heard a familiar voice. Spinning about she spotted Kleos and gave her a characteristic brilliant smile "Kleos! Thank gold! I was beginning to think I was going to have to watch this all by myself despite being surrounded by a crowd" She stated with a laugh.
Of course nearly as soon as she'd spoken she noted that her friend was not as relaxed as the festive atmosphere might otherwise have made her and considered the answer to Kleo's question carefully "Oh..I don't know, I don't see how it can work - I mean the guy up and disappeared, lived in a cave for who knows how long and now thinks he can stop Thread - seems a bit to impossible to believe really. He probably breathed in some bad fumes down in that cave and came out a bit weirder then he was to begin with. But you know I'm not going to worry about it to much - regardless of how it goes Pern will be okay, If nothing else I think history proves that we're an adaptable sort"
***************************************************************************************** D'lin & Plexith
'Many of the wing are here' Plexith told D'lin from where he was keeping an eye on his fellow Trine dragons. 'Good, keep an eye out for the little ones too' D'lin responded.
He had managed to find a spot a little way's off from the stage and was waiting patiently for the demonstration to begin giving nods and waves to the familiar faces he saw in the crowd.
*****************************************************************************************
Eliza & Velath
Eliza simply wasn't going to give up the opportunity to come to an event of this magnitude - especially after she'd missed the last chance to mingle with people from other Weyr. 'Imagine all the interesting things they might have to tell us' Velath stated in excitement.
'I know!' Eliza responded in equal excitement as they searched for a place to land in the quickly growing crowd. Finally Velth spotted a little clearing near on of the Trine bronzes and neatly settled in as Eliza slipped off. 'Just be careful' The green warned her rider as Eliza eyed the crowd.'I will"

[N'mol]
Of course N'mol attended the demonstration, but it was with an odd sense of something being wrong, and a rather explainable tension. Archimonde's demonstration would determine if their profession and lifestyle survived or died a slow, dishonorable death. Although Benden would look bad in the short term, N'mol rather hoped that the laser show would fail and leave the future of Pern in tact.
We will persevere, Tyeth interrupted. The Bronze was toward the front of the dragons, eyes skimming over the assembled dragons from every weyr and the assembled humans as well.
N'mol's eyes were mostly for the stage. He watched Archimonde and his gleeful expression for a moment before looking at Keller. That sense of tension grew. Keller had been nothing but polite to them during the Investigation, but he was a smug man, as many Master Wherhandlers were, N'mol imagined. Still, Keller seemed stable enough to keep Archimonde in line, and N'mol didn't think the man would endanger anyone here if he could help it.
Tyeth eyed Keller and Archimonde with a reflection of N'mol's feelings. Do not worry, N'molmine. I will protect you, and we will protect Benden against any threats.
N'mol was a bit surprised to find he felt as strongly as Tyeth on the issue and began moving frmo the crowd back to his Bronze. He didn't need to be far up, and although he was a Wingleader, he was still only 17. No one would notice if he fell back to be nearer to his dragon, and N'mol wasn't as curious as the others who quickly pressed in to fill his place. Yes, we will, Tyeth. Keep an eye on whatever machine they reveal. Archimonde isn't in his right mind. That was no guess. It was apparent to anyone who looked at him. If something goes wrong, we'll have to move quickly and try to help clear out any Holders or Crafters that may need it.
Tyeth rumbled faintly in approval. Although neither knew what would happen, it was always best to be safe. A good plan, mine.

[Cetalese] - (Tag F'itz - Kind of.)
Cetalese had arrived at the Demonstration Gather shortly after Eliza and instructed Halith to land near Velath.
"Eliza!" Cetalese called as she unstrapped and slipped from Halith's back. She quickly removed her helmet and left it carefully attached to her riding straps, stripping her gloves as she quickly walked after Eliza. With a few apologies, she caught up to Eliza before the girl had gotten far from Velath.
"I should have known you were coming, but I wish you had said something. We could have left together," Cetalese said as she tucked her gloves tightly into her belt.
Daine suddenly popped out of between and whistled a greeting to her owner and Eliza, swooping over their heads before landing on Ceta's shoulder. The Greenrider adjusted to the slight new weight and smiled at Eliza. "Maybe we should try to find a drink vendor before the demonstration starts. It's still warm out, and you know with all of these people pressed together it will be worse."
Cetalese saw a Benden rider push by, and the sight of his knots reminded her of other riders she might know here this evening. Halith seemed to pick up on the thread of Ceta's thoughts and broke off from the conversation she had started with Velath to lift her head as high above the dragons around her as she could in an attempt to seek out the cross-weyr ties she had established at the last chance the weyrs had had to meet.
I will find them, Cetalese.
F'itz and Brumath and Mercy and Aerith, Cetalese reminded her, even as she returned her own thoughts to the present and Eliza. F'itz had not sounded as if he approved of the demonstration in his last letter, but Cetalese had pointed out she was considering going. Hopefully, he had decided to attend. It had been months since she had spoken to him in person. It would be interesting to see if their dynamic in person had changed because of the great many thoughts they had been willing to put into writing.

[Alianar] - (Tag Fick and Careesi)
Between his training to be a wherhandler and then his raising of Alianarsk, Alianar had hardly left Benden at all in the last few years. Masterhandler Keller, however, had made it clear that this was a momentous occasion for all of Pern and it should not be taken lightly. Alianar had thought that hinted at the wherhandlers paying close attention to it and so here he was, miles from a caged Alianarsk, having gratefully received a ride from a Bluerider on his way to the demonstration. They hadn't spoken much on the short ride, but Alianar had thanked him and made sure to ask if the rider could give him a lift back as well. If the rider ended up not being as good as his word, Alianar would have to try to hunt down another Benden rider willing to take him.
The wherhandler wandered around on his own, not really paying particular attention to where those around him came from or what rank or profession they were in; he was just trying to see everything and enjoy the experience of being at a sort-of Gather. Gathers were few and far between at a mining hold, and even relatively rare at the weyrs.
Alianar did a double-take when he recognized a familiar face, then hesitated and turned the other way. He really didn't want to run into Harmony right now; it was a tie between Harmony and Dinah as to who could be the most nasty about riders, and tonight they were likely to be the most vicious. Alianar, who liked to generally keep his opinions to himself, did not do well with opinionated people, especially when he had no dislike for riders himself. It made carrying on a conversation about the topic (and that was likely to be the primary topic of discussion for all 'handlers tonight) difficult.
However, as Alianar continued moving, he passed by a pair of unfamiliar wherhandlers who appeared to be having an accidental run-in, and paused by them. It didn't look like it had been much of a collision, but it never hurt to be sure.
"Everything all right?" he offered, looking between the pair.

[O'thor and Orlina] O'thor had not intended to go to the demonstration. He had no interest in it and figured that someone else could tell him what happened, since several of the weyrlings from his class were going. Of course, he hadn't counted on Orlina getting involved.
"I can't wait to see if this works," she said excitedly, but her face was a strange mix of excitement and fear.
O'thor raised his eyebrows at his half-sister. The ramifications of the laser system had not escaped any but the most dull of riders or the majority of non-riders. Orlina, as a weyrbrat and now Candidate, had obviously realized it as well. He knew she was clever, but he would haev to remember that just because she was 12 didn't mean she was unobservant.
Unlike you, mine, Adamanth commented, amused Watch where you're going.
O'thor looked up just in time to avoid running into another rider, offering apologies while Orlina fell quiet, as she usually did around people she didn't know. The pair moved off to find refreshments, Orlina staying close to O'thor. It suddenly occurred to him that this would be the first time they spent time together without it being a chance meeting in the weyr or a group meeting.
---
Orlina, for her part, really was excited to see if the lights she'd heard the riders talk about could burn Thread, but she was scared as well. O'thor had Impressed Adamanth, but Orlina didn't have a dragon yet. If the lights worked, did that mean they wouldn't breed more dragons? Well, no, dragons would always breed, but would people want to Impress anymore when the purpose of the dragonriders had died out?
She didn't know how to feel about it. She wished she could just have a good time, and then determined to do just that. "Let's get bubbly pies!" she announced suddenly, and took O'thor's hand, politely beginning to make her way through the crowds to what appeared as the second most crowded space of the demonstration Gather.

(Benden - Kindra and Suunath will not be carrying any passengers but B'nas and Milnth will take up to 3 people if they wish to attend)
Kindra was not happy in the least about this sharding demonstration. Being one of the only Goldriders at Benden there was no way she would have been able to get out of going and she was most certainly in a mood. Tongue lashing anyone that irritated her even a slight bit. The only one that didn't bear the brunt of her irritation was Suunath, she constantly reassured the Gold that she hated everything about this sharding invention. End of injury for Dragons indeed...... "HA! .... more like the end of Dragons and their riders if the thing works...." she raged. "And what's going to happen when the power for the things wear out and there aren't any Dragons left?" She threw her hands up in disgust and went to bathe and clean herself up. If she had to be there, then sure as eggs she'd look her damned best. Once dressed she mounted the silent Suunath... the Gold not having anything at all to say about the Dragonlight project but her general emotion was of annoyance and intense dislike of it. Once landed Kindra made her way towards where the Weyrleader would be sitting, not really looking at anyone else but her eyes did search for her friend N'mol. If she had to sit up next to W'lin then she'd be damned if she didn't have someone she liked nearby. Suunath settled with the other Benden dragons that preferred to keep separate from the other Weyrs. Making sure they made way for her.
B'nas was brooding, the thought of the possibility that no more dragons had to get injured because of Thread interested him a great deal but he disliked Benden's support of the mad old man in case the machine was a failure. Milnth did not share his rider's interest and voiced his displeasure often. However he did go to the demonstration, carrying a few passengers. When they arrived Milnth quietly let B'nas and his passengers off, the man going off towards where there were several women gathered, Milnth went off to be by himself, away from most of the other dragons.
***************************************************************************************** (Trine -F'ren will take two passengers and M'lan will be taking 3 passengers)
F'ren and Toulonth had both been conversing between themselves a lot on this Dragonlight thing. Toulonth fully supported whatever her Rider decided but thought that if it worked she and F'ren would be much happier not having to risk injury everytime they flew Thread. F'ren was unsure. He saw the good and the bad in the machine and as much as he wanted to prevent Toulonth from getting hurt ever again... he wasn't sure he trusted the ancient's machine and he trusted Benden even less. Once there F'ren went looking for his friends as he had seen at least one dragon he recognised easily from the air, Toulonth calling a greeting to her Favorite Bronze "Scarath, How are you and Yours?!" she asked politely.
M'lan was busy trying to get his riding gear on while an excited and BIG Brown was dancing around like a unbroken Runner. "Miiine! ... come on Mine!... we should go.... we need to see who wants a ride... we can carry more than anyone ..." bellowed the brown, his wings flashing in his excitement, drawing attention to him. "Asoth... Asoth please... i know you're a big strong dragon but even you can't carry too many" scolded M'lan, frowning. He and Asoth were looking forward to the Gather-style environment, M'lan because he could get lost in the crowd, Asoth because there would be other draons there... maybe even a Green ready to Rise and he could catch her and show the other Weyrs that he was the BEST Brown ever and was bigger than any of their dragons. He looked forward to seeing Pipith, he liked the small Bronze, who incidentaly was the same size as Asoth and the Brown liked to remind him of it, not in a malicious way of course, Asoth wasn't that kind of dragon but he was proud of being the biggest Brown in Trine and maybe even the other Weyrs. Once he landed Asoth took off loudly again, bugling a greeting to ALL the other dragons before settling down near some greens.
***************************************************************************************** (Malvern - Z'en and Kataith will not be carrying any passengers)
Z'en was excited. They were going to see the Dragonlight thing, the invention promised to end the suffering of Dragons and their Riders to injury from Thread and despite he and Kataith not really flying in a proper Fall, he'd seen the injured, heard the screams and the sobs of those who had been unable to go with their Dragons Between The very thought of that happening to Katiath left 'en with nightmares sometimes. If it worked... he and Kataith could just enjoy being together all the time, without having to worry about Threadscore ... ever. He and Kataith arrived towards the edges of the clearing and the young man preferred to stay with his Dragon so they both watched from where the Dragons were gathered, Z'en perched on the riding saddle. He could watch just as well from here as in the crowd.

{Narisa and Cepheith - Tags to Plexith and Pipith....and Kindra if she wants to meet another goldrider!}
She kept fidgeting as she took her place among those up closer. Which was, to be honest, not quite where she wanted to be. But Narisa wasn't going to tell anyone that. Except Cepheith. And maybe a few of the Rider's she knew better then others. At least I can see clearly, she thought to herself with dry amusement.
I would rather have you here with me. Cepheith grumbled from her location in the back. She'd made her way towards familiar dragons - bronzes of course - and carefully wedged herself with them. Her tail flicked agitatedly, eyes an almost yellowish green.
<Trust me. I'd rather be there.> Narisa sighed, folding her arms under her breasts and giving the stage a wary look. She was, like many, very curious about what this...Dragonlight was that Ancientcrafter Archimonde had created. And equally terrified of it. What would happen if it was successful and served its purpose to a point that people began to think dragons weren't needed? Probably an absolute worst case scenario, but still. Of course there was the other side of that, in what would happen if it failed? Narisa groaned softly, trying not to make too much eye contact with those around her. Though her eyes did flicker towards another girl that approached the front. Another goldrider perhaps?
Wherry type of thinking. Stop fretting, mine. Or come back here so I stop fretting about you. The gold snorted, blinking towards the stage before glancing at Plexith and then towards Pipith.
I am curious about what this human has created. But why must Mine be so close?

[Riarna]
Riarna had accepted a ride from Brownrider B'nas and arranged where to meet with him before they had gone their separate ways. Honestly, she was glad to be separated. She wasn't a people person and it was readily apparent that B'nas was. Better that they only interact as needed. Then again, it was that way with most people.
She had left Kissi in charge while she was away, since tonight had been Riarna's turn to sort orders. However, Kissi hadn't been as interested in the dragonlights as Riarna was.
An item that could make riders superfluous... Riarna had always wanted to work at Benden. It was her goal to be a Weaver for the riders, a prestigious and guaranteed occupation. This Archimonde's crazy claims were putting that perfect job at risk, and Riarna hadn't even achieved MasterWeaver status yet. For her, the potential for this to work was the difference between working in the life she wanted and being reassigned elsewhere by the Crafthalls. It was selfish and personal, but that was the most important thing to her. She was not blind to the overwhelming amount of riders present, though. Their entirely livelihood was at stake. Their interest was not surprising.

[N'mol] (Tag Kindra)
Suunath comes. Tyeth lifted his head, watching Suunath easily make a place for herself among the other Benden dragons. Welcome, Suunath. Would you like a place closer to the front lines? I would be happy to make one for you.
N'mol watched Suunath drop off Kindra, then followed the dragon's progress. His eyes returned to Kindra, and though he couldn't see her expression when he was so far from the stage, he imagined it was not good. Even after they had spoken about the Dragonlights several times, Kindra remained in a temper any time it was brought up. She wasn't one to take things lightly, and N'mol was well-acquainted with how fiery her temper was. He smiled faintly. He hoped she managed to keep her temper to herself for however long she was on the stage.
She probably would have been offended to hear that thought, too. A Lord Holder's daughter knew how to behave in public. N'mol shook his head faintly as he saw Kindra turn her head, possibly taking in the crowd.

Sasar(Tag Harmony) Sasar's thoughts were interrupted by the voice at his side. He looked down, mildly surprised by the mass of red hair surrounding a distinctly feminine form. He couldn't stop himself from giving her a quick once over before nodding in approval. "Sasar, yes. Bronze Sasask. Pleasure to meet you Harmony." He held out his hand to the smaller handler. While she was certainly dressed for a Gather, Sasar hadn't bothered with finery. His hair was freshly cropped and washed and his standard work clothes were clean and free of damage, that was about the best you got out of the large man. He gave a deep bark of laughter, his grin widening. "To say the least. Can't be pleasant learning the stars don't revolve around you. I take it you're in favor of Keller's pet Ancientcrafter?" -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dizzian(Tag Hekate) "You came from Northern?" Her friend had dropped subtle hints that she wasn't originally from Trine or a drudge but they were few and far between, Dizzian had never been able to put much thought to it. How Hekate had come to their Weyr and become a drudge was a complete mystery to the young greenrider. Once again though, her curiosity on the matter was forgotten by Hekate's next comment. Dizzian snorted, eyes wide with scandalous shock and hands clamped over his mouth. Her cheeks blushed as she dissolved into giggles. "Hekate! You're terrible!" She couldn't believe the woman has just SAID that! "Did he really?!" Her giggles continued even as she added. "I might not have said no...a peek never hurt anyone and he was cute!" Though the tall and rugged male wasn't normally her type she couldn't deny he displayed all the charm a bronzerider was supposed to have, though his morals might have been a little looser if he really did proposition Hekate. Courath stretched her wings out, both to force a little bit of breathing room around their riders, and to catch more of the midday sun. Right now the heat put her more in mind for a nap than anything else but she wasn't about to miss something as potentially monumental as this. Many thought it would be detrimental to their kind but she was keeping an open mind for now. ~ I do not know... If it does though, it could prove more helpful to us than we realize. If people stop thinking of Us or It, and consider Us AND It instead. ~ Instinct would never let dragons stay on the ground during Fall, even at such a young age she knew that. It would be far better to incorporate the machine into their system rather than try to replace thousands of Turns of tradition and evolution. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Z'ferAs more people began to join the crowd Z'fer was pleased to note the disapproving faces of those Bronze and Gold riders within his view. At least he wasn't the only one. Still he kept to himself. Most appeared to be from the other Weyrs and he hadn't forgotten the tension between them. Nor did he feel like chatting up the goldriders. Calanoth on the other hand had kept an eye on the arriving dragons. He bugled a return greeting to Asoth out of politeness. The Brown appeared to have the same idea as Calanoth but the large bronze didn't view him as a threat. Still, it prompted him to stand up his fullest, flaring his wings out and arching his neck proudly, showing off his immense size and handsome hide, even with the Threadscars down the front of his shoulders. Z'fer had assured him it gave him a warriors appeal, showed that they were both brave fighters and that ladies loved that kind of thing.

Charmaine and Charmaisk
Charmaine snuggled close to Char as the two traveled down the path towards the Ancientcrafter's demonstration celebration. As a Harper Charm was excited to see exactly what the man had to say and how he planned to support his discovery. Char still wasn't sure what was going on but he purred slightly glad that Charm was so happy.
When they arrived the abundance of smells assaulted Charmaisk and he sneezed slightly irritated. Charm giggles slightly and scratched behind his ears. " Come on! Let's go meet people! Maybe we can go find you someone to play with!" Char sent a wave of excitement almost equal to Charm's. His tail waved slightly and Charm giggled again and the two set off to enjoy the festivities.
The day quickly disappeared in a whirl of excitement as Charm and Char went to sample everything. It wasn't everyday Charm got to go out so she'd saved up quite a bit to spend that day. And thanks to Charmaisk, she didn't experience too many klutzy moments.
The next day the call went out and everyone started to gather to watch what the old man had to say. Charm trotted to the edge of the crowd with Char at her side. She tried to always find a place where he could go with her so now she sat on the end of the row Char sitting on the ground next to her.
