Danny noticed the ghoul was really captivated by the windows and began drawing little firebirds in the air with her finger. There, that one had wings that were uncanny to Taima's.
A bird suddenly squawked through the room (wtf) and Danny decided she was going to chase the bird, which is probably why it flew around the room so many times. When it landed on the bag, Danny was slowly sneaking up to it, attempting to pounce.
"Hmm?" she mused, "Huh? Oh yeah. Parties. Yeah."

After grudgingly admitting that she didn't need to open all of the windows, Taima turned her attention back to her guest. Her eyes widened as she saw the demon ghoul stalking the corrividus, who was preening beneath a wing, completely unaware, and took a step towards them. "Uh, I'd be careful," Taima cautioned, her voice low as if afraid the bird might hear her. "Ahiga bites." Even the goats were backing away slowly.

"Ahiga?" Danny said, turning to face the ghoul with a surprised expression on her face. The corrividus took the moment of lost concentration to fly away, out of Danny's grasp.
By the time Danny had looked back, the corrividus was out of her reach, and out of her sights. "Ohhh darnit! Next time birdy, next time."
Danny's posture fixed itself to something more normal and she said, "Okay, this room is really cool. D'you need any more help with ... stuff." Might as well ask, right?

The bird cawed from elsewhere in the room as though accepting Danny's challenge.
Taima, on the other hand, looked relieved that the corrividus had simply flown off instead of assaulted her new acquaintance with beak and talons and teeny tiny birdy fury. She paused to consider Danny's question; she still needed to unpack, probably rearrange some furniture, locate all of the important places on campus, register for classes, at some point she'd probably need to eat... "Nah," she replied, "I think I'm okay for now, thanks."

Danny's stomach let out a loud grumble. Ohhh right. It was around lunchtime, wasn't it? Well what was a better time to go out to lunch than when you met a new friend!
Danny's arms wrapped around her stomach and she said, "Hahaha I'm hungry. Wanna come get something to eat?" She looked in her little skull purse.
Yeah there was no way in Halloween she wouldn't have enough money to pay for them both. Danny was loaded.

Taima was torn between the prospect of lunch and making progress on settling in, but only for a moment. It had been a long flight, and she'd been too eager to get to Amityville to stop to hunt for a meal. "Yeah, I could eat," she said. This way, she could find out where to get food, learn what she could from Danny, and put off the unpleasantness that came from unpacking. "Lead the way."

"Mhmm, sure!" Danny said cheerfully, grabbing the ghoul's hand and swinging it. She had no concept of personal space. None whatsoever.
They walked a ways until they reached the creepateria, where Ginger served lunch food. It wasn't that bad MOST of them time, and she was pretty good about getting you what you wanted. She sometimes gave Danny a face when the fire demoness torched up all the cooking lady's hard work, but hey that was unlife.
She pointed to the little stands. "So there's all kinda foods. I dunno what birdies eat. I'm good with whatever! But I don't really like blood stuff ... Or drinks ..." Being a fire demon did that to you. Liquids were a no-no.

Taima got startled as Danny suddenly snatched her hand, but recovered quickly, even smiling as she was led away. She took note of the path from the monster dorms to the creepateria, filing it away for later use. Knowing where the food was was just under knowing where classes were on Taima's list of priorities. Though she didn't look it, she could eat a lot; shifting to and from her natural form burned a lot of energy.
Taima hadn't realized how hungry she really was until the wide variety of smells hit her all at once, and suddenly she was starving. She practically pulled Danny over to the stands of food, dimly registering Danny talking as her eyes wandered over the selection. "Huh? Uh, I can't speak for all birdies, but I prefer fish when I can get it. I'm not picky, though." Taima briefly looked from the food to the other ghoul, puzzled. 'Blood stuff' she could understand: not everyone enjoyed the thrill of the hunt or the sweet taste of victory--and fresh meat--like monsters did. But drinks? "So you just don't drink anything, ever? Not even soup or anything? How does that work?

"Nnnnnnope!" Danny said, somewhat proudly. "I don't get why everyone's so great. It just makes me throw up." Danny shrugged. She really didn't feel like she was missing out on anything. It was just liquid, which would always be inferior to fire, clearly.
She looked at the menu and said, "Uhhh there are fishsticks- you like those?"

"Fishsticks?!" Taima whirled back to the food, her wings practically vibrating in excitement. While nothing was as tasty as fish so fresh it was still wriggling when you dug in, fishsticks were good too--especially in this form. Taima had learned that some people got grossed out when she took chunks out of still-living fish with her teeth. "So um, but," she said, torn between hunger and curiosity, "then how do you eat? What do you eat?"

Danny looked down at her friend. "Um ... okay well I take the food." She mimed the actions with her hands, "Then ... I put the food in my mouth. Or I light it on fire. Fire's good." She moved her hands up to her mouth and showed the motions. "Then I eat it! Oh uh .. I bite it ...! Er..." This was kind of hard to explain with words, so Danny just mimicked biting foods.
What? Taima did ask how she ate things.
"'I eat lots of stuff! Just don't like uh ... not food. Beverages?" she explained. Really, Taima would have better luck just greugling it.
She noticed the bird was getting rather antsy and Danny knew that look quite well thanks to Roch. "Hey if you wanna go eat, we can hang out later, okay?" she said, nonplussed and smiles, just like always. She really wouldn't be hurt if Taima chose the food over her- Roch practically did it on a daily basis.

Taima blinked slowly and stared at Danny as if she had grown a second head right in the middle of her first one at the other ghoul's very literal response to her very general question. "O...kay then." Note to self: dumb it down. While she wanted to pursue the "light it on fire" portion of Danny's answer, she worried a bit now that Danny might respond by actually lighting the creepateria on fire. She'd just keep on wondering. It was probably safer that way.
"Uh...no, it's okay, I can--" wait is what she was going to say before she caught movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head to look and found another student intent on getting some of the fishsticks, their hand hovering over them. Taima's wings flared, her eyes narrowing threateningly at the other student, who noticed and scurried off to find the mystery meat, leaving the fishsticks untouched. She glared after him until she determined that he wouldn't be coming back. Yeah, that's right. All ur fishsticks r belong to Taima.
Then she remembered that she wasn't exactly alone. She grinned sheepishly up at Danny as her wings settled against her back once more. "Sorry," she said. "I probably should eat. But thanks for helping me with my stuff, and showing me around! I'd definitely be up to hanging out after I do some unpacking."

"Okay birdy! See ya later!" Danny said cheerfully, waving and patting her on the back heartily. "Oh wait!" she said, digging in her admittedly tiny pockets and pulling out a piece of paper. She looked around herself for a moment, only to run over to a table and steal some poor kid's pencil.
She jotted something down and then handed it Taima and said, "Here that's my number okay? Uh ... phone number I mean. You can call me when you need help and stuff!" She smiled widely and put the paper in Taima's hand.
With a wave, she said, "Bye!" once more, and then ran off to spare poor Taima from any more abuse.
