"Younger and much better looking, Niana." Athena chuckled at the antics of the twins. He liked the fact that they had gotten the playful side that he had. Their mother could be a bit of a joy kill at times, though not too often in the fluffy male's experience. He waited patiently for them to return, as he was sure they would. He could suspect that they were talking while they were out there since it was such a conveniently placed parting. The fact remained that the old fluffball would never know for sure. They were not the only set of twins he had had in his litters; they were only the first of two sets he had had.
As he waited, Athena reflected on the fact that the other set was two girls, a set of leopons that was grown now as well. His three cubs with Zenobia would soon be grown, and there were a few other females that had come and gone that might have cubs by him, he would know soon enough. They all knew they could bring them back to him, and that he would at least appreciate seeing them once if they did not want to leave them with him to raise. It was a nice way to have an agreement with the mothers of one's cubs. It usually meant they would bring them back for at least a visit.
When the two came back, Athena grinned at them. "I will take that pounce as you are staying, then? I'm sure Crius, Pallas, and Aphrodite will all love the new playmates... and some of the leopons are still about, like Perseus. They usually come and go for a time as it is in their nature." He had no doubts that these two would be doing the same. "Shall we go back and get you settled in for now?" He couldn't wait to tell Zenobia that they would be staying for a bit.

"Sounds like a plan, Dad, " the twins said together. Both were happy they'd decided to seek out Athena and glad of the chance to spend some more time with this part of their extended family.
As they followed Athena Niana had to venture a question.... "Hey, umm.. dad... what's your feeling about leopards, because... there's this guy...."
