Pink filled Danny's cheeks as Skah planted a kiss on her hand, and she smiled. She looked at Louis, and judging from his huffing, it was probably time to leave. She giggled once more before grabbing Louis' hand and looking back at Skah. "Thank you, again," she said sincerely, "And I'll see where this leads me." she stated, looking at her piece of paper, now folded up. She slipped it in her purse, and a vibration sounded. She jumped slightly, then realized Amanda must have texted back. "We should go." Louis said flatly. Danny smiled at him, and grinned at Skah once more before waving goodbye. "We'll see you around." And with that she turned with Louis, back in the direction of the ice cream stand.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗With that, Skah went his own way. He ducked into a nearby tent he knew would be empty and changed back into a crow before hopping out, shaking his feathers, and shooting off down the road. It was easier for him to follow the roads to make it to the next town, as long as he flew high enough to avoid cars. He missed the old days, when all he had to avoid was a horse, maybe a cart. Being he'd left closer to noon, it was getting dark when he made it to Alexander's shop. Not only did Alexander live in the next town, but he lived at the other end of the next town. When Skah made it there, he flew into an open window that led into the nursery of the shop. He took a moment to catch his breath before hopping into the front of the shop, where Alexander was 'happily' helping a rather old woman, who was commenting on how nice it was to have an old style apothecary instead of all those modern drug stores. He smiled and thanked her for her business and hoped her arthritis improved with his herbs. He knew it would, being a Fae, his herbs were extremely pungent. He rested his hand on the head of the fox, who was curled up on the counter and slipping back to sleep. "Tráthnóna maith, Spiorad na Crow." Alexander said quietly, not bothering to turn around but instead moving to clean the remnants of dried herbs off of his scale. Skah sighed lightly. "Alexander, I speak many languages, but you know Gaelic is not one of them." He said through a series of harsh caws, causing Rasiel to open his eyes once more, leveling his tawny gaze on the bird. Alexander had told him multiple times he must respect the bird, but that didn't stop him from imagining what it might taste like. "Very true my friend, and you know how much that amuses me." Alexander said, returning the small bits of herb to its rightful container before turning to face the crow. "So, I'm assuming Evanna's run out of her tea again? You must tell her that she has to stop drinking it so quickly and in such quantities."No, I come bearing the message you've been waiting for for decades. Evanna believes she's found-" he started, before he was promptly grabbed along with the fox. With that, Alexander was off. Where it'd taken Skah a few hours to make it to Alexander's shop, he was at Evanna's tent within the hour. He didn't bother to knock or ring, he didn't even bother to slow down, he simply burst into the tent where the witch was waiting patiently with a cup of the very tea Alexander had been referring to. "Evanna! What-!" He began, before she held her hand up to stop him. "Alexander, sit and calm yourself, there are some complications to address and tests to be run." She said.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Later that evening, Danny sat at her kitchen table, her mom bustling in the kitchen. "Thanks for dinner mom," she told the woman, whose hair was up in a bun, pots and pans in her hands. She had been at it for several minutes now, cleaning the kitchen before she could sit down with her daughter at the table for a few minutes to talk. "Are you almost done? What did you want to tell me?" she asked, and she pulled her feet up to her stomach, now sitting criss-cross applesauce on her chair. She adjusted her glasses, now that her contacts were out. Her hair was the same as her mother's, up tight above her head. "One more minute sweetie." The woman said, and Danny looked back at the dark mahogany table that stood in front of her. Finally, Danny's mother came back and sat at the table with a huff. She didn't take any time to try to talk to Danny beforehand, she went straight to it. "This is your surprise," the woman said quietly, a smile on her face, and she turned to look at the front door to the house. Danny looked as well, the door opened with a small swoosh from the wind blowing in. In entered a man, dressed in a trench coat and hat, a bag and brief case in his hands. "Dad?!" Danny squealed, and the man smiled. Danny shot out of her chair and ran to the tall man, whose short brown hair matched his dark amber eyes, the same as Danny's. He opened his arms and embraced her as she started to stutter, "I-I thought you weren't supposed to come home 'til next week!" The man smirked and said "Me neither, but my boss needed a different man on the job I was working, so he let me come home." Danny gripped the man around his waist tightly, and after another minute of reunion, the man said, "Let me unpack for a moment, and I'll be with you in a minute." "That's okay, I have something I have to do really quick actually." Danny ran up to her room quietly, closing the door behind her, and walking over to her purse on the dresser. Taking the small piece of paper, she ran back out her door and down the stairs to the front door. Walking outside, she didn't have to go far to come to water. In their front yard, her mother had placed a small pond in her expansive garden that Danny occasionally helped weed and such. The pond contained a few different fish, all basically common fish, but it was a cute pond all in all. Danny looked over the water, paper in hand. She tucked her loose hair behind her ear and began to unfold the paper slowly. She looked at the words on the page before slowly reading them, making sure not to mispronounce anything. "Quae mihi nota est satis, nunc de his alis invocare nix, quoniam adhuc rogare magis et plus adhuc desideramus scire. Mitto autem verba, ut ego quoque vocari."

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander sat in a small but cushy chair. He seemed to be exhausted and utterly deflated as Evanna continued putting away what they'd used for her tests. Many of the components needed for the tests had come directly from Alexander in the ways of blood, skin, hair, etc. While Evanna hadn't had to take much from him, those components lent her some of his powers and tired him out. However, that wasn't what was weighing on him the most. "Don't despair Alexander." Evanna said, stowing away a few bowls she'd recently used and cleaned. "She doesn't remember you, but she's still living. All you'll have to do is-" But a whirring cut her off. A mirror balanced on a spindle began to spin rapidly like a CD. She hurried over to it and stopped it's spinning, holding the edges gingerly. The view she saw within it was extremely wavy and rather dark, but she could just make out the girl from before, even as a large goldfish crossed her view. "Are you contacting me from a pond, dear?" She asked. "Oh my, I expected Skah to clarify that a bit, but I suppose he didn't." She said, glancing at the crow who'd been perched on her shoulder. "Next time, try stiller water. We'll both be able to see each other better. Is there something you need, dear?" She asked, waving for Alexander to stay where he was.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

After a few seconds, the pond had started to glow lightly where she had been standing over it. Danny gasped and took a step closer, and after another moment, she saw Evanna. What was happening? Was this real? Was she actually going to be able to speak to the fortune teller through a pond? Through water? It amazed Danny, this apparent magic. She smiled, but didn't see Evanna as clearly as she'd like. Once Evanna spoke, Danny kneeled down next to the pond, her hands at its edge, head above the water. "Evanna," she said after the woman had asked her if she needed anything, "I... I need a little clarification. A little explanation." There was something that had been bugging her, and it wasn't going to help if she was just going to sit around and wait. She needed answers. After a short second of silence, Danny took a deep breath in and exhaled before saying, "Who is Alexander?"

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Evanna bit her thumb nail thoughtfully. She didn't know if that was exactly the best way to reintroduce the two. However, a seemingly constant series of squeaks and creaks had taken up since she'd gone to the mirror, suggesting Alexander was fidgeting. "Alexander...is someone to whom you'll find your fortune applies quite liberally." She said, choosing her words carefully. "But..." She ran a hand through her hair. "Just...one moment." She said. "Skah, keep the mirror still." She said, placing the alabaster crow on the edge of the mirror. Despite being on a spindle, the mirror did not tip under the birds weight. She went to Alexander then and took him by the shoulders as he stood. "Alexander, you listen to me!" She said quietly. "This isn't something you can just unleash on her! You can't just say 'Hey! You don't remember me, but I've been waiting a thousand years for you to be born again! And by the way, I'm not human!' because it'll scare her away like that!" She said, snapping her fingers. Alexander copied her pose and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Evanna...do you think I'm an idiot?" He asked. "Stop fretting like a mother hen, it doesn't compliment you." he said, patting her head like a child before going to the mirror. "Thank you Skah." He said, scooping the bird up onto his hand. He held him there as he smiled down into the mirror. "Hello." He said softly. "I am Alexander Xaverkas. May I ask your name?" He realized that, in being reborn, she'd most likely been renamed as well. He'd continually updated his alias. The only ones who referred to him by his true name anymore were his own kind anymore, and he hadn't voluntarily interacted with them in years. That was what his pistol was for, one he displayed obviously in a shoulder holster.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Pink hair wisps fluttered through the wind as Danny watched what happened before her in the cool dark waters of her mother's pond. Evanna disappeared, and from the image in the waters, she heard whispers and mumbles. And then, in front of her, was a young man. He didn't look too much older than her, maybe a few years. His brown hair and light eyes contrasted with Danny's light hair and dark eyes. He was definitely handsome, no doubt about it. When he appeared, pink spread across Danny's cheeks, and she listened as he introduced himself, his voice cool and calming to her. In the pit of her stomach, something spun. Twirled and flipped. Did she know this man? She didn't remember him... "My name?" she spoke, her voice gentle, a little curious, "My name is Danielle... Danielle Reinhardt." The corners of her mouth turned up in a smile. A small one, but a smile non the less. "Nice to meet you, Alexander."

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗"Danielle, what a beautiful name. Though, one would expect a beautiful name to be given to such a beautiful woman, of course." Alexander said, in a tone implying that it was obvious. He really couldn't help it. He knew she didn't remember him, but he remembered her, and seeing her there, albeit none-too-clearly, with the night sky as a background reminded him of their past times together, before technology took over. When they would spend all night, or whatever time she could get away with, in the forest together.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

At Alexander's comment, Danny's blush darkened. Her amber eyes sparkled and her smile turned into a grin. Something about this Alexander... he seemed to be comfortable with talking to her, even though she had just met him. Even though the water was foggy, and the fish kept swimming without a care, Danny leaned in a little, trying to look at him more closely. He interested her. "Thank you," she told him after his compliment, "But everybody just calls me Danny." She pushed her glasses up her nose a little, trying to make sure she could see him as clearly as she could. But some of her questions weren't answered. She now knew who Alexander was, but why was he important? "Um, Alexander... why did Evanna ask me if I knew you?"

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗"Danny? But isn't that a boy's name?" Alexander asked. A moment later, Evanna punched him in the shoulder. Hard. "I'm not meaning to offend!" He said quickly, scowling slightly at the witch as he rubbed his arm. "This is just a foreign concept to me. My apologies." He said, returning his attention to Danny. "As for why I was mentioned..." He ran a hand through his hair. "I don't believe that telling you just yet would be the best course of action." He said. Danny giggled when Evanna punched Alexander, and watched as he rubbed his arm and apologized. "It's alright. I get that sometimes," she trailed off, scratching her head. She listened intently as Alexander spoke, that calming quality in his voice fascinating her. He seemed sad when he replied to her... his voice had dropped. Danny frowned down at the water, worried. "Is something wrong-" "Danny! Danny, where'd you go? Danny suddenly looked up at her house, her father's voice loud and concerned. Her eyes filled with strain as she looked back and forth from the pond and her house for a minute. "I... I need to go. That's my dad. But-" She paused, looking back at Alexander. "I'll see you again?"

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander smiled. "I do hope so." he said lightly. He looked back towards where Evanna was sitting. "Evanna, may I please borrow one of your mirrors?" He asked. Evanna got up and stepped over to him. "Yes, but we need to open it." She said, taking a hold of the mirror as well and taking Skah from him. "Fetch that mirror over there." She said, pointing to a place out of view, towards which Alexander disappeared. "Danny, when we do this you might see a flicker and you'll have to repeat different words, but after that you can go." She looked up again to see Alexander and nodded. "Good, now get Rasiel, you'll need him, then come help me switch." She said. A short moment later, Alexander reappeared with the young fox draped about his shoulders like before. "Good, now when I pull this one, push that one on right after. One...two...three!" and for a moment, the image in the pond disappeared. Not two seconds later however, it reappeared. "Good. Alexander, hold the mirror." The witch said. She moved once Alexander had a hold of it, taking Skah with her. "Now Danny, I need you to repeat after Alexander, as it must be said in his native tongue, and listen carefully as these words will be more difficult to pronounce..." She said, writing on a piece of paper, which was handed to Alexander when she was finished. He read through them for a moment before handing it back. "Alright Danny, I'll go slowly and speak as clearly as I possibly can. Ready?" And he cleared his throat before saying slowly: "Is iad na lámha ndán di anois ag gluaiseacht, agus draíocht nach bhfuil aon smaoineamh aisteach nua. Amber eyes followed the image in the pond closely as the mirrors were switched and Alexander came up to the mirror to speak. "Okay... I'll try," she said, listening closely to the odd phrases of words that came from Alexander's mouth, from the cool dark waters. Slowly, she repeated, trying not to let her tongue slip up and mess up anything. "Is iad na lámha ndán di anois ag gluaiseacht, agus draíocht nach bhfuil aon smaoineamh aisteach nua. Impigh mé dhuit anois, ag cabhrú fionnaidh de dearg-" "Danny!" Danny's eyes darted to her house, her brow lined with worry. She looked back at the watery image to finish and quickly say, "-cabhrú liom athnuachan a dhéanamh ar an grá, un marbh!" Her face seemed scared, her mind wondering if it worked, if she had said it right. She looked to Alexander for confirmation. "Did I do it? Is everything good now? ... What did I even say?"

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander's eyes widened as he heard someone shout for her as well, but relaxed after a moment when he realized it wasn't anything hostile. "Don't worry Danny, you said it perfectly." He glanced at Evanna for but a split second at the last question, but acted as though he hadn't caught it. "I hope to see you soon." He said, kissing his hand and holding it out to her, as though she could grab it, and let go of the mirror. It began spinning once again, before stopping slowly, severing the connection and leaving Alexander looking at his own reflection. He looked at Evanna with a raised eyebrow. "The hands of Fate are now in motion, and magic is no strange new notion. I beg thee now, with helping fur of red, help me renew this love, undead.?" He recited to her. She shrugged. "I had to come up with it on the spot, and it has to be truthful for it to work." She said, sitting back down to sip her tea, her eyes closed. "Evanna, I told you about that tea already, it can-" "She likes you already." The witch said, cutting him off. "That's her soul waking up. I have a lot of hope for this situation." She said. She opened one eye to look at him. "Perhaps you should stay here tonight?" she asked. Alexander shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "I can't, I have a large order for tomorrow that I really should be preparing now." He said. "And Rasiel dislikes Skah to some extent, so I don't think that would work out well either." He said. He took up the mirror and replaced the other one. "I will see you hopefully tomorrow for more good news." He said, bowing to her before heading back to his shop, taking a route through the woods with a leisurely walk to give him time to think about the recent happenings. It turned out he was walking slower than he realized, for when he got to his shop, the sky was beginning to lighten. He sighed and got to work preparing his order, seemingly rejuvenated by his walk through nature.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

As Alexander reassured her she had said it right, she smiled, but remained silent for a little while longer, hoping they would answer her last question. But after another moment of silence, she realized they weren't going to. When Alexander bid her farewell, she couldn't help but reach her hand into the water slowly, not too deep. Just enough so that she could picture grabbing his hand and holding it in hers. "Goodnight," she said, but the image in the dark waters began to blur, and was gone in a matter of seconds. She lifted her hand from the pond and dried it, a little bit sad the conversation was over. Like she had mentioned before, he had intrigued her. As Danny's dad came to the front door, Danny said, "It's alright Dad! I'm right here," "What were you doing next to the pond?" Danny stood up and began to walk up the steps to her house, but turned around when an explanation was demanded of her. Her amber orbs gazed over the shiny surface of the water that had served as her own "mirror" and said, "Just... feeding the fish." She laughed quietly to herself, now saying, just so she could hear herself, "...I was with a friend..."
