Harrison grabbed a towel from off the back of a chair.
"What the hell happened to you, you shower with your clothes on? I knew you were out of it, but Jesus." His voice was on the raw side.
He put the towel around Rep's shoulders. That close, could smell the salt.

"You're an idiot," Jordan said shakily. "Take that off, I'll get your bathrobe." He didn't let go immediately, just searching Rep's face; finally he nodded and leaned in to kiss Rep gently before going to the closet.

"The showers. I didn't want.." he didn't even bother finishing, they likely knew as well as he did why he hadn't wanted to go to the showers.
The towel was a reassuring warmth and the kiss that followed, a multiple of that. It dispelled so much of the lurking worry and anxiousness. It was an understatement to say he was dazed, none of the scenarios in his head had involved concern or gentleness and he hadn't even dared to dream of forgiveness on any level.
He was still watching Jordan even as he obeyed the request, glad to be rid of the sodden clothes, letting them drop to the floor, he wouldn't be wearing those ones again if he could avoid it.
"I am an idiot." he agreed, trying to rub some warmth back into his skin with the towel.

"Yeah, you are."
Harrison had sort of missed the ode de ocean water. Rep had been better groomed since the Apocalypse, but he didn't mind the other. He stayed behind Rep, and added his own kiss while he got undressed, friendly and along the beard stubble on his jaw.
"But not dumb enough to stay in the ocean all night. Considering how damn sensitive your skin is, you'd probably end up getting a moonburn." The words were still rough. It was easy enough to assume Harrison's cheeks were wet from his shower.

Jordan draped the robe over Rep's shoulders and wrapped his arms around him from behind, sighing softly. "I'm still angry at you," he confided against the nape of Rep's neck. "Doesn't mean I don't love you. Doesn't mean we're letting you hide out."

The familiarity of Harrison was like regaining part of himself, the bottomless terror and sorrow swept away by the scolding of the insults and their subtle veiled reassurance. The response came easy to him, bypassing the emotional knot with ease. "That sounds more like some sort of friction burn." But he reached out a hand to find Harrison's, squeezing it gently when he did.
Jordan's words however, were unexpected to say the least, he froze, it took a moment to even process.
He was lost, he didn't understand. This wasn't how things went was it?
Love was a fickle thing he'd always thought. It was something that went away if you didn't always do the right thing. It was a constant fight you fought every day of your life to maintain. There were no second chances.
To think that it could be unconditional: made his breathing shiver with another suppressed sob, made his hands shake till he clenched them and made emotions stir in him he'd never really known were there. He'd thought he'd lost everything. He didn't deserve it, he didn't deserve them at all. But there were no words to fit around how glad he was he still had the most important thing.
"I..I'm..I st.." he fought with all the things he wanted to say, to say everything he felt, how grateful he was, how sorry he was for all of this, how he wished there was more time.
All he managed was a whispered and cracked "Thankyou." It was what he had needed, more than all else to hear.

"Still a chance of that," Harrison admitted, locking his hand with Rep's.
He rested his chin on Rep's shoulder.
If Rep started crying, he'd lose it again.

"Come lie down," Jordan asked. He took a long, shivery breath. "Going with you tomorrow," he added. "Simon didn't specify you had to go alone. Technicalities," he said, with a ghost of a smile.

It was hard to wrestle his emotions into a place where he felt he could even speak and not be overwhelmed, and this time it wasn't simply sorrow or regret but a very real sense of overwhelming happiness. He was exhausted from the war of emotions, his head hurt and his eyes ached.
He wavered unsteadily on his feet and found Jordan's suggestion could not come at a better time. "Yeah. I should lie down I think," it was a damn good idea before he physically fell down.
For a moment he resented his own morbid sense of humour as he thought there'd be a lot of lying down after tomorrow probably.
"Are you sure you want to be there?" he asked, reluctantly disentangling himself and moving to the bed to flop back on it "I don't know what's going to happen."

"Sure. We can make a couple of arguments on your behalf," Harrison said, letting Rep go so he could lie down. "Between my brains and Jordan's good looks we got charm to spare. Whatever kind of s**t you're in, it's sure as hell not alone."'
He sat on the edge of the bed, leaning towards Rep and adding quietly, "I'd drive myself crazy just waiting around."

Jordan crawled back onto the bed, settling down behind Rep and curling up against him. "We've got your back," he added quietly. "You ******** up, but you can do better, as long as you've got the chance. And yeah, waiting is worse."

He nodded weakly, needily snuggling up on the bed. "It'll be nice having you guys there." he said, "As long as it doesn't land either of you in trouble. I've done enough of that for a lifetime already."
At least whatever happened, he hadn't spent his most uncertain night alone and wondering what people felt. It just made him deeply sad to think that as far as love went, he hadn't had to earn anything at all, and that it had took till now to realise that.
"I just hope I get another chance."

No ******** promises on that front, Harrison thought grimly. Getting in trouble was the least of his worries.
"You got the offensive s**t down. Just need to be more...discriminating about it."

Jordan shrugged one shoulder. "Going either way," he said, a little gruffly.
He stretched out, shoving his feet under the blanket. "I'm going to try to sleep."

He nodded. He should try to sleep, he knew. But at the same time was aware even with both of them there, it would be impossible to do. Sleep would bring the morning that much nearer, so much faster.
"I should try and relax a bit." It was about the most he could hope for, given the circumstances.
Harrison got an apologetic look. "And aye, I was starting to get the hang of it." Until anger management became an issue anyway.
