Golden eyes rolled as Lan heard the question of allowing herself to be pinned. This ghoul was daft. Lan huffed. She was a horsewoman of conquest, she did not simply allow herself to be pinned. More than that, she didn't lose. Conquest was born for victory, it would suffer nothing less and if it did? You proved you would do better. Keep failing and you might as well become an exile. There was no honor in a loss after all. There was no honor in failure.
"No. And no. You don't get to call me a horsie either. Do you just- augh. Do you want to keep insulting?" Truthfully it was better than being called a brood mare, that insult would have made Lan flip her collective s**t.

"Okay no horsie. Mare it is then!" Danny was the queen of not seeing the point.
Maybe if she talked long enough, the ghoul would agree to letting Danny pin her! Ooh yes great plan. Excellent plan.
She scratched the back of her neck and said, "Okay well you haven't met Sparrow ... have you met Shikoba? He was a kind of grumpy po- ma- ..." She looked up at Lan. "What do you call a boil mare?"

Danny got a blank look. "No, you will call me Lan, nothing less, nothing more." Please nothing more.
"And yes, Shikoba was.... yes well grumpy is hardly the word I'd use for him. And a male horseman is call a sta-" Oh noo. Noooo she couldn't resist. "A gelding. All males are geldings."
Maybe if she was lucky, this ghoul would run into Mengyao.

"Gel-ding," Danny sounded out. "So mares and geldings, okay." She'd have to share all this new info with her horseman friends! Although they probably knew already ... at least she had the word for it now!
Oh but she knew Shikoba- that was great. "Oh so you've met him! He was kind of grumpy, but I think he just doesn't like fruit." Out of context that probably sounded odd, so Danny clarified. "We had to give welcoming fruit baskets to the po- horseman of our choice. So I gave it to gelding Shikoba, but he didn't really want it."
Look Danny was using her new vocabulary already!

Well.. good enough. The ghoul might say it to the wrong horsemen and get beat up but that really wasn't Lan's problem now was it?
"Try rude. And War is more inclined to thing raw and bloody and ugh. Why did you try giving him as basket of fruit is that some sort of.. courtship? If so, you'd have better luck with your own kind. Stallions like him are needed sadly."
Repopulating was far from min but... sooner or later, the mares would be told their duty, as would the stallions.

Danny tilted her head. "Well 'cause Moira said so. It was our homework for class..." If Lan hadn't noticed yet, Danny was very inclined to following instructions.
"They like courtships? Where can I get one of those?" It didn't sound like food ... but hey you never knew. Maybe it was a rare kind of horseman food she wasn't aware of yet!

Home work? Riiiight. Lan was slowly getting the feeling Halloweeners were just... idiotic. On the whole. "A courtship is what one does when they intend to wed. A suitor aims to woo their love. That is a courtship. You just can't...get one you know. Its not like lovers grow on trees and all that sort of thing."

"OH. Uh. No I don't have any courtships for Shikoba then, sorry." She actually did frown. She felt bad about not being able to provide for the ponie- horsemen that needed it. "I'm already dating someone- tell him I'm sorry!"

Lan was giving up. Hands in the air, she was done.
"Yes, yes fine. I will tell him you have no designs on him. I am sure he will be crushed to hear that. Is there anything else you need?"

"Hey! No need to get jealous of my courtship okay!" Now that Danny knew she had a courtship, she was going to hold it over everyone's head like a shiny new trophy.
Shrugging she said, "Nope, unless you wanna be pinned now." Her eyes were ever hopeful.
