Fairbreeze let out a slight huff at Kaliri. Of course he didn't like pink, but he wasn't about to completely cut out that option, after all it wasn't just his fort, it was Kaliri's as well. "We can put some pink it in." He told her with a nod. "Just not too much." He added with a laugh before looking over the flowers they had gathered. Kalirir had stated she wanted pink and purple, he liked the purple it matched the color on his and Kaliri's pelt. "So..." He began making his decision of what other colors to add. "We'll do purple and pink, and...." He lowered his head inspecting the flowers more closely. "Blue and orange. The blue because it's an awesome color and matches my pelt and orange because mom has orange on her." That way their fort would be decorated with the colors found within their family.
Taking a step back Fairbreeze looked over their fort. "Did you want to do the inside and I'll do the outside?" Honestly he had no idea how exactly they would paint the inside of their fort, so perhaps letting Kalirir do it would be easiest. Painting the outside would be a relatively easy job, he just needed to make the green patchy to help the fort better blend into the trees surrounding it.

"That sounds good!" Kaliri agreed before picking up a mouthful of flowers and trotting into the fort - they certainly didn't have enough flowers to color the entire wall..but she had asked Olo how they did this and apparently just smearing it across the wall transferred the color a little bit...and she planned on doing some pictures.
But pictures of what exactly? Their family? Natures? Maybe a little bit of both? She decided to start with the biggest wall and picking up some of the flowers she started dragging them across the wall to create a mural of a nice sunny day.

With Kaliri taking several of the flowers inside Fairbreeze took a few moments to puck the stems off of the remaining ones, those that had been turned down as useful colors for their fort. Gathering up a mouthful of stems and leaves the colt began to rub them along the trunk of the tree, slowly adding patches of green here and there. Every now and then he would step back, look over his work, compare it to the trees around him and either add more to the current patch of green or start a new one. The trick was to make it look like the natural forest around them, which honestly was pretty easy as the sun peeking through the leaves above left everything patchy and that was easy to match.
The downside was that the stems wore out fairly quickly and even the large broad leaves crumbled from the rubbing. It meant he went through a lot more stems and leaves than he had first planned to. Good thing he was surrounded by all matter of green plants so gathering extra was no problem. Taking a small break from his work of masking the outside of the fort Fairbreeze stepped inside to see how Kaliri was doing. "Wow." He said as he took in her work so far. "It looks great Kaliri!" He had never imagined his sister could draw like this using nothing but flower petals inside of an old tree.

Turning around at her brothers voice Kaliri gave him cheerful smile - it wasn't often that she got to do stuff like this but she'd always enjoyed making shapes in dirt with sticks and this wasn't much different. Unfortunately like her brother she was finding out that the flowers wore out rather quickly and the pile of crushed and useless flowers at her feet was far larger then the fresh ones she had yet to use. "I think we might have to collect more flowers to finish everything..but it's a good start right?"
Stepping back she eyed the rough patches of color critically - it was a start anyways and to her foal eyes the shapes and patches resembled what she had been trying to copy enough to make her happy with the effort. "How are you doing outside? Is the fort hidden well now?"

Fairbreeze nodded his approval of what Kaliri had done so far. "It's a very good start." He told her, taking a moment to get a closer look at some of her drawings. "We can bring more flowers back each day, whichever colors you need to finish these." The colorful walls inside their fort made the place more inviting, and the things Kaliri drew brightened the fort in a number of ways. Glancing down at the pile of used and crushed flowers on the floor Fairbreeze left out a slight laugh. "Though we might need to find a small branch to use so we can sweep all these flowers out later."
With another nod of his head Fairbreeze led the way back outside. "It's hidden pretty well I think." He said looking over his work. "But I think it could use some more green in some places." Yup they would need plenty of more flowers but like Kaliri had said it was a good start and they had plenty of time to put the final touches on their fort. For now it was built, mostly decorated and now the real fun could begin for them.

Kaliri eyes the patches of green that Fair had added to the outside of the fort once she'd followed him outside - it did look like it blended in with the area a bit more. "Maybe we should find some small plants and plant them around the outside to help hide it even more..but its a really good start" She agreed.
She was about to suggest that they go and look for some more plants and flowers to use but the patch of sky she caught a glimpse of through the tree tops made her pause "But we'll have to do that tomorrow - it's getting dark and if we're not home in time someone will come looking for us" Which of course was the last thing they wanted. Trotting out of the thicket she waited for her brother and then hurried off with him towards home. They could continue to work on the fort in the following days.
