Well now. Otto was no gentlemen, and Candace made no attempts to shoo him away or hide, so he watched. So basically he had a free show. And what a fine show it was. No complaints on his end.
"Why yes, that'd be one of the reasons." Otto admitted. If he helped her move, that would be the sooner he'd have this place to himself. He was a little disappointed that it wouldn't be right away, making no effort to hide it. "Awww dang. Need help forcibly evicting somebody?" Which was a joke really, considering Otto's size. He was in no position to threaten anyone.
He smirked as she tapped his nose, raising a brow. "Oh yeaaah. I just dunno what I'll do with myself all alone."

"No, no. I'll find a room. Thankfully I really don't need a kitchen so hopefully there'll be plenty of rooms that won't have them." Shouldn't take too long. There had to be a way to find out what rooms were unoccupied. Maybe if she asked.
At his answer to her question she paused. "...Is one of your arms going to have more muscle definition than the other when I see you next?" Candace sounded serious as she asked this, getting down on the floor by her closet. She pulled out two large suitcases, the luggage she had packed her clothes in when she'd first come here.
...It wasn't big enough for her entire closet this time. She'd need more. Damn. She turned a woeful look up to Otto. "So you'll really be my Carrying b***h?" Such affection.

Those rooms had kitchens!? ******** this s**t! Otto wanted a real hunter room!
Candace's "serious question" was met with a snort, a look of amusement almost shining through. That was bold. He managed to keep a hold of himself, steeling his poker face and shrugging. "Maybe."
He watched over what she was doing again and tilted his head at her woeful look. Carrying b***h. "Uuuh huh. Though I gotta make sure I check first.. you are gunna be movin' things too, right?" He was a helper not a slave.

Aw, Otto! Doubting her! "Of course! Just, I have a lot of stuff. I've..bought things...dresses. Shoes. I can carry my own luggage, just not everything will fit in these things." She reached out to playfully pinch Otto's cheek. "I'll buy you lunch or something in thanks, 'kay? Something from off the island. Just name it."
She glanced at the bed, pouting a bit. Did she want to keep the sheets or anything? Hm..nah. She'd get new ones. Better ones.
"Deryk's your neighbor, so be a good boy." Candace instructed as she opened the luggage and started opening drawers in the dresser. Things to be packed that Otto would not be handling: undergarments. "Thanks for this, by the way~." She smiled. "It would've been pretty lonely not having a roommate, lately. And I probably would've had registering my promotion if I didn't have someone to immediately talk to."

Yup. She was quite the girl. Shoes. Clothes. So many of them. "Makes me wonder if this place has got any boxes." It would make moving things a lot easier. He'd have to look into that. His head turned toward her in time for her to pinch his cheek, one of his eyes closing in protest. "Mrah." He grumbled, shifting his shoulders. Hm... food. Well, that would do just fine. Anything not Island food was awesome. "Somethin' involving steak?" Maybe he was pushing his luck.
He sat back on the ground now, picking up the comic he'd been reading. She was busying herself now, and he took to alternating between watching Candace and reading Bix's comic. "The Nerd!? Aww..." The Nerd lived beside him?! Otto groaned, flipping a page in the book. "Well.. his room is toast anyway. He's been sleepin' in the commons room from what I've gathered." A smirk arose.
The sentiment was met with a curious look from Otto. He shrugged lightly and pretended he was reading. "Yeah yer pretty damn lucky to have me around for company. Can't say I blame ya fer gettin' excited." He looked serious, and probably sounded serious to anyone passing by, but chances were that had been a joke.

Candace shrugged. "If it does then I'll only need a small one for the things on my desk, really. Most of my clothes I can fold and just iron out the wrinkles later, but I'm not sure all of it will fit. I lost a few shoes in the cleanup so...there's less of those to carry." And there was one pair that was hers but were in H's possession. Those shoes were hers, damnit. She would get them from him. She'd play his game, though. She'd earn them.
She was going through another drawer, folding t-shirts and tank tops and putting them into her luggage. "Steak? Sure, what kind? I'll get you a whole meal." If steak was all he wanted that was fine. It wouldn't be immediate, she wasn't using an entire leave day just to get a steak, but she would get it for him.
"Deryk's a good guy." She commented as Otto called him 'The Nerd'. Though she was surprised to hear the news of Deryk's room being destroyed. That explained why she hadn't seen him in passing as much. She blinked, looking up from her packing with a soft pout. "Has he? That's a shame..hopefully with some of us being promoted he'll be able to take one of our rooms." Hopefully. She didn't know who all had lost their room. She knew Harrison was bunking with Jordan and Rep, and Marcus with Cass, but everyone else..?
She was moving on to jeans when Otto remarked that she was lucky to have him. She paused. "..more invested in relationships than completing the ******** mission." Candace frowned to herself, rubbing her lips together. No, that wasn't true. She wasn't like that. She always got the job done. Always...she wasn't a liability or a hazard. Her hands shook a bit as she thought about it, wincing and suddenly rubbing a hand against her neck. Circe hadn't even..
Candace forced a laugh, nodding her head and focusing on the task at hand. "Yeah, maybe you're right." She replied softly, glancing back at Otto over her shoulder. "It'll be nice to have the room to yourself though, yeah? I'm ready to have privacy again." Private bathroom, bedroom all to herself..private everything. Maybe she'd go see H, later. She'd gone to him to show him her last promotion, it only made sense to show off to him again, right? Caelius was wrong. She was no one's b***h.

"Whaddya mean 'What kind'? Steak kind." There was more than one kind of steak? Geez but the world was mighty complicated.
Pshaw. Deryk's a good guy. Sure, but he was also a dork. Deryk the Dork. Otto rolled his eyes at her concern for him, flipping another page of the book. Maybe if the fellow blonde wasn't such a spaz, Otto could pretend he was tolerable. "He talks a lot." He muttered.
Yeah, maybe you're right
Wait, what?
Otto blinked and looked up at her with a brow raised high. He let it go, no really looking to get into a heart felt conversation. Bix had tried to do that too. Suckers. "Yeah, if theres one thing I learned to covet durin' my time in the bunker its that privacy is goddamn privilege."

She stopped packing to just stare at Otto. Steak kind.
Steak kind.
Candace blinked once, twice, three times. Oh, Otto. Poor, poor Otto. "..Okay now I have to get you quality steak because that's just ******** sad, Otto. Tenderloin, Rib-Eye, Sirloin, T-Bone..you're lucky you're gettin' a Texan girl to do this for you or you'd be screwed." She shook her head and turned to her attention to her clothes again. This suitcase was full...time for the next one! It was shut and zipped closed, though she did have to sit on it to get it to close completely. Oops.
She rolled her eyes at his comment on Deryk talking a lot. "It's called a conversation, Otto. People make them." She chuckled, shaking her head. He really was a bratty child.
"Oooh, yes it is. It definitely is." She packed her shoes into the second suitcase, closing that up as well. "Alright. You take one I'll take the other. Choose wisely; the shoes or the clothes."

Was he being belittled? Maybe he was. How was he to know steak had options? Wasn't it just a big slab of meat? He scrunched up his nose and huffed a bit, turning his head away as if embarrassed. "Whatever, neighbour." She was from Texas, huh? The state next to his. That explained the slight accent she had every once in a while. It was so slight he almost passed it off as a fluke, or her morning drawl. Why did she hide it though? "Some Southern belle you are. Ya live under a Texan rock or sumthin?" Being Texas it was likely a very large rock.
"I know what a conversation is." He said haughtily, narrowing his eyes. "He don't take breaths between sentences like a normal person."
Otto looked from one suitcase to the other wearily. "Uh.. I'll take whatevers is heaviest." Cause that was man's work. "Not sure how much power ya got in those arms of yours, since ya fight with your fancy tap shoes."

Candace raised a brow. Neighbor, huh? Cute. When her status as a Southern Belle was questioned Candace rolled her eyes. "Just 'cause I don't wanna sound like some country hick don't mean nothin', ya got that?" She replied with her full Southern drawl, giving Otto a pointed look. She cleared her throat and turned the suitcases so they stood vertically; they had wheels and an adjustable handle, they wouldn't be..too terrible to carry up a flight of stairs.
"Then politely tell him to calm down and have a breather. He's a nice guy. Don't be an a*****e." Candace wandered to her desk, getting her things together. Her notebook, the tiny glass unicorn Jerry had given her for Christmas, the photo of him and H together at the Gala was safely tucked into the notebook so it wouldn't get damaged; she needed a new frame for that. A couple books were stacked together, writing utensils gathered together. "Fan--"
That impudent child! I'll show him fancy tap shoes! Hmph! Atropos' rings flared a bright light as if she was about to summon herself. Candace rolled her eyes.
Stop that.
But I'm--
Atropos...
There came a huff. I'm not just a pair of fancy tap shoes. She grumbled, the pout clear in Atropos' voice. Candace imagined if Atropos had a form other than her weapon she'd be on the floor crossing her arms and glaring angrily at Otto. She grinned.
"Atropos didn't take too kindly to that tap shoes comment. And I'll have you know my upper body strength is just fine, thank you. Who the hell do you think got both of these from my old apartment to where they picked me up to take me to Deus, hmmm? You can have the one with the shoes."

Hah! He got her to talk in her native tongue. Otto wins. He smirked briefly and shrugged it off.
Don't be an a*****e? What do, Candace? Otto rolled his eyes, puffing his cheeks ever so subtly. He didn't wanna make friends with Deryk. He wasn't even keen on playing nice either. Maaaaaybe he'd take her advice if he haaaad to talk to him again. Maybe.
The fact he'd insulted her weapon kind of amused him, an air of mischievousness hinting in his bored looking eyes. He honestly wasn't sure why she put up with him at all. "Kay." He answered quickly, taking up the suitcase of shoes. "Soooo where are these goin'?"

"With luck~? My new room." Candace said cheerfully, taking the other suitcase and dragging it behind her to the door. She'd come back for the rest of her stuff after. Clothes were important. She waited for Otto to obediently follow her before leading him up the stairs. "I have very few requirements for my new place. Very simple, really. Space, multiple rooms..I know they exist Julie had multiple rooms. Just a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom is fine. And room to make a bigger closet." There was a pause. "..Something I can work with and mold as I like. Hopefully it won't be too hard." She grinned, ideas going through her head one by one as she thought about what to do with this room. It had to be perfect, or as close to perfect as she could get.
When they reached the stairs Candace hummed, moving down the hall. The room she had checked out with Aria was a definite no; Candace didn't want a room she'd seen a dead body in. "The rooms available are the unlocked emptied ones, so..it shouldn't be hard to find." Candace had already tried a couple of rooms, two of which had been locked and two more were unlocked; one was furnished, obviously claimed, but the other was emptied...just..it only had one room.
Nope. Candace needed more space.
She checked a couple more rooms.
Nope. Nope...mayb--nope. Nope.
...Nope..
Finally she came to room 214, humming thoughtfully. She glanced across the hall. Well then. Was it available?
Oooh! Apparently yes! Candace stepped in, looking around the immediate area. An emptied room painted in muted colors. There was an open doorway that led to a kitchen, and a door toward the back. Candace assumed it went to a bedroom. The kitchen was the only thing unnecessary here.. "..Huh..." She stepped further into the room and set aside her suitcase, hands on her hips as she began to walk around the main area of the dorm.

Man, she was such a girl! Closets and rooms and what have you. Seemed excessive. All Otto needed was a bed and he was happy. Well, not happy but whatever. Not that he'd complain if he was given a room with lots of rooms. Maybe a mini fridge. Yeaaah...
He followed along after her, suitcase in tow, rolling his eyes every so often as she talked about her vision of paradise. Room after room was inspected, the case of shoes feeling heavier the longer it took. Finally she seemed interested in one. He dumped the suitcase by the door way and stood still with his arms crossed, watching her inspect the area.
"Does it meet yer specifications?" He asked in a cheeky tone.

At Otto's question she shrugged. "Maybe.." The furniture had all been removed. She'd have to find something to fill the room with until she could splurge on her own stuff. She wandered toward the back and opened the door. A bed and a dresser. The necessities. Good, she could buy a better bed later but for now just any bed was okay.
The door was closed again. "Clarice is across the hall...nice space. Workable, I won't go blind just being in the room or anything like that.." She walked back into the main room and then into the kitchen. It was a nice size...it shared a wall with the bedroom? Candace peeked out the kitchen again, a thoughtful look on her face. "I really don't need a kitchen though." Candace murmured, moving into the bedroom again. She checked the closet. It was nice, sizable..not but enough. She knocked on the wall. She could knock it down...open it into the kitchen. Gut the kitchen, close it off. Turn it into a closet...
Perfect. It'd be pricey, but she could save for it.
She checked the bathroom to see how it was before wandering back out, a smile on her face. "I can live with this until I can change it up to fit me better." If she was going to be living somewhere for the rest of her life she should like the place, right? She would mold it to her preferences. She grinned. "Yeah, this is it. I like the location, too." She gestured toward the hall. "I'll leave the clothes up here and go back for the rest of my stuff bit by bit. Don't feel like looking around for boxes when I can just carry my own stuff." She walked past Otto, playfully hooking a finger around the collar of his shirt and tugging him along with her. "Come along, Carrying b***h~. The fewer trips the better. I'll get your steak dinner next time I'm off island."

Otto never moved, but his eyes did, following Candace as she moved around the room.
At last, she seemed to settle. The boy staggered as Candace playfully tugged him back out, righting himself so he could walk properly beside her. "The best kind, right?" He asked regarding steak. "Real tender or whatever. And like.. garlic mashed potatoes or sumthin' on the side?"
"And cake for dessert!"
Regardless, he helped Candace move for most of the afternoon.
