Oh right the cake. Jericho offered a faint smile, then went on to eat it. The cake was pretty tasty, but his mood put a bit of a damper on it. He couldn't enjoy it as much as he would have liked.
"This is pretty good..." he said anyway.
At the topic switch, he looked up to her when she brought up Deth. Yes, he recalled that organization. QB had brought them to a scaring grounds once, and the student he followed in the trance was affiliated with that organization. The kid was far too naive he felt. However, the herbs presented did make him a bit curious.
"These... came from a human?" he said quietly while opening up the bag to give it a sniff. They smelt harmless enough.
"We think these would be in better hands of Malodore.. rather than our own."

She smiled at the compliment, before nodding, "Yes, and I was a bit... Skeptical at first, but she was a really nice lady. She showed me these scars on her arm from being attacked by a monster when she was trying to save him, because it's rare for Halloweeners to readily accept help from a human..."
She paused briefly, "Oh, and I was told that humans like her - humans who can see us - can also manipulate Fear, to an extent. She showed me a dagger used for healing small wounds. On that note, Professor QB told me that hunters were humans, but when they take up their weapon to use our powers, they become less human... They become more like us, the ones they're hunting... Yet not really." She forced a chuckle, shaking her head, "It... Almost makes me feel better about Stacey... Just a little bit..."
Because she still felt bad about that.
"Oh, don't worry!" She patted her pocket, "I prepared one for Malodore as well, so keep that!"

This was interesting information to say in the least. Jericho listened intently. It was all kind of weird to hear though.
"So they're like... good hunters.. in a way," he blinked, regarding the bit on them being able to manipulate fear to some extent. But what was even more interesting was the tidbit about the hunters themselves.
"Go figures that they're some sort of hybrid abomination," he snarled. As far as the herbs went, the dragon let out a sigh.
"We think this would be wasted on us.."

"I wouldn't call them hunters," She smiled sheepishly, "Hunters sound so... Violent. They're good people. Like you're good people. Person. Dragon." She patted him on his head again, "And hybrid abomination sounds a little harsh..."
A pause.
"But I guess I approve," She giggled, shaking her head, "If there are any good people among the hunters... I want to find them." She wasn't too hopeful, but like them, there must be those fighting only because they feel that it's a worthy cause right? Whatever they're fighting for...
"Don't be silly," She ruffled his hair, "You're a good person, remember? Totally not wasted on you..."

"We bet they're all bastards," Jericho grumbled. Yes he was a bit bitter on the topic of hunters. He hadn't really met any nice ones. Well. Technically he did once but he was in attack rampage mode so he didn't really give Deryk much of a choice other than to fight back while he was getting double teamed.
That was besides the point.
"We mean that it probably won't help much... Better for those it'll actually heal," he said sadly.

"I bet there's a bit of good in all of them, somewhere... They just need to... Act on that, rather than always pick the bad side whenever we're involved," Lizzy sighed, putting another slice of cake on Jericho's plate in an idle manner, "Like during Trance... Were you there, Jericho? There was a hunter who saved a few students from being captured because he had promised to let them go, but the other hunters disagreed with him. He saved Professor Red, Professor Malcolm, Professor Bryn, and a few others. Without him, they wouldn't be with us today."
That made her hopeful, just a little bit.
"But I'm not going to let my guard down," She nodded, looking surprised at his comment. Pouting, she folded her arms across her chest, "You still have some Fear in you! Oh! And isn't prom coming up soon? Doooooo you have a date? Anyway, you owe me a dance." She wagged a finger at him, "I can't remember why... But you owe me a dance."
Yes, good, don't think about the unhappy things... Even if she was supposed to be happy... Or optimistic... Or anything but upset at the news that he had delivered.

Jericho had been there, but the student he followed had left in the cave after the one scythe hunter told them they could leave.
"It was probably a ruse. The student we followed? He left the first time he offered them to leave. It was a trap," he snarled, "There were hunters outside. That's how ours got taken."
With a huff, he crossed his arms, then paused at Lizzy's question.
"We are... And.. uh... Shehk. And yes, we remember... We think.."

"I would like to think better of him. Without him, everyone would really be dead right now," She replied softly, "Even if he was lying, he got some of them out... Some... Is better than none." Even if the 'some' would have to live with the pain of knowing that their friends are dead. Gone.
It hurts just to think about it.
"Ohhh, Shehk~" She giggled, tilting her head, "What's up with the two of you, anyway?"

"Yeah but that was twenty years ago. The guy with the scythe now is a different man. The one we saw there is probably dead by now," Jericho huffed out. Shaking his head, he stared at Lizzy when she giggled and asked about Shehk.
"Not much. She's been trying to watch over us. Worried."

"... Yeah, the guy with the scythe right now is a major meanie face," She frowned, folding her arms across her chest; sadly, that was the best insult she could come up with at this- Oh wait, there's more, "He's a jerky jerk jerk."
She still had not forgotten how he had treated them, and she wasn't about to forget anytime soon.
"Nothing more than that?" She asked, clearly surprised, "I mean... I knew that the both of you were in the student council together, but... She only started acting really, really close and protective of you during, and after, Scarentines', so I thought that there was, uh, you know... Something else going on."

Jericho furrowed his brow at Lizzy's insult on Caelius. Right. He shook his head again then nodded to Lizzy.
"She... she likes us. We don't know if we feel the same in return. And with everything going on, we just can't... figure it out. We aren't ready for a relationship. Not now. Too many things are going on and we don't even know where we'll be in the future."

"Ah... I guess that is an understandable reason," She nodded sheepishly, hoping that Jericho would not end up like Riley; she didn't want to lose him as a friend.
However, she knew, first hand, how oblivious Jericho could be; ah, how she suffered once, although it was also her own fault for not confessing... The 'later' just turned to 'never until the crush wore off', although she was grateful that they were still friends, "Well... If you don't feel anything for her, do tell her. It's... Probably less cruel that way."

"You're a good boil, Jericho," She smiled, inching closer only to throw her arms around him in a hug, "And you're doing well with insanity. You're going to beat it to the ground! And set it on fire!" She ruffled his hair before letting him out of the hug; it seemed like she really needed it too, looking a little more at peace after the hug.
"I'm leaving the rest of the cake here," She looked at the cake in question, "Eat it whenever you feel peckish, or feed it to a minipet... Just no tossing it away! No wasting food!" Especially since she prepared it herself!

Jericho offered a weak smile in turn as she hugged him, lightly wrapping a wing around her since his hands were full with cake.
"Yeah..." he said quietly before nodding to her, "Will do. Thanks.. for coming by Lizzy."
