Lakota smiled at him. Don't let him intimidate you. That only makes him feel better about himself. She said in a low voice to where Hunter wouldn't hear. Hunter is just an overly protective brother...he doesn't know that I can take care of myself. Even the people I like can take care of me just fine..he just likes to scare the people I date. She said to him, looking at the menu, forgetting that they still had to order.

Lakota chuckled a little at the look the waitress gave him. She ordered a steak, medium-well and a side of fries. She handed her the menu and looked at Akio. True...but you really haven't met Hunter. He is like father and brother overprotectiveness combined together. Honestly if you pose as a threat to him, you better learn how to dodge a blade...that on fire. She said, rubbing the back of her head and smiling slightly.

Akio's eyebrows rose. Australia? he said nodding as he digested that information. I am originally from Japan, but I have lived in America for a couple months now. Akio said, a distinctive accent beginning to color his words.

Lakota nodded and moved her glass aside for her food. Cutting into her steak when the waitress set it down. She took a bite of her steak before answering. She swallowed. Yeah, well..that I know of anyway..but I heard that every werewolf found in Australia was killed. The only reason Hunter and I weren't was because my step-parents made sure that my ears and Hunter's weren't seen when we went to school or when we went out. Anyone that found out, my step-dad gave them a potion he learned that would cause memory loss. She said sighing. So I was tired of living that way and bought myself a ticket out of the country, Hunter came after me to take me back but he was also glad we left. She took a bite of some fries.

That would be exhausting. Akio agreed, swiftly cutting up his lasagne and taking a bite. At least your family accepts you though. he said, tearing open a couple of packets of salt and sprinkling them over his lasagne.

Lakota cut another piece of her steak and chewed it. Swallowing, Actually they didn't..when we were kids they beat us..but its whatever. They only kept us alive because they wanted kids...but not werewolf ones. They only told us to hide our ears so they wouldn't go to jail for keeping us alive. She said to him, pulling back her ears slightly. Hoping Hunter wasn't hearing her tell them their story. He didn't like it much when people knew about their life.

Akio nearly snarled when Lakota said that she had been beaten. He took a drink to conceal his reaction. That makes me very angry. he said honestly.

Lakota cut more pieces of her steak, eating them and leaving them in silence for a little bit. She looked at him in his eyes. It made Hunter angry too...he wasn't really beaten as much as me...cause he stood up to them and they were scared of him to tell you the truth. But when Hunter would go out to get some food or stuff for home that is when they would. But it's in the past now, and I look towards the future. Because I can see that my future will be a good one. She said to him with a smile, blushing slightly as well.

I hope so. Akio said, wondering what his future held. More specifically, he was wondering if Lakota played a part in it. Akio hoped so. After finishing his food, Akio puched the plate aside and steepled his hands. So what do you want to do with your life? he asked.

Lakota shrugged, she didn't really think much of her future, she just went along with life. I guess and artist or a chef. She said to him with a smile. What about you? What are you going to with your future? She finished her food and placed her plate on his, the waitress took them and brought their receipt to them.
